He’s also accused of misappropriating the townships funding, with it being alleged he was lying or forging false expenses and either making them up or buying unneeded things and returning them and keeping the return. A good little primer on the difficulties of self-government. Lesson #1: why so few citizens volunteer for public service as representatives of the people. It's a thankless job. Why do it? The prestige? The perception of power? We the People are predisposed to distrust leadership. Yet we must elect someone. And then we prove that democracy can be a dangerous weapon. We elect a Trump. At the local level, we elect miserable sods like these fellas. The guy who walked out looked like his blood pressure was 220/150, so it's a probably a good thing he bailed. Yet that's not how you govern. You don't run away when the pressure is on. Neither do you stir up controversy merely for the pleasure of being perceived as doing something other than sitting on your ass.

    How about ALL campaign money received on a federal, state, city and town level be received by a federal agency so that the federal agency could make sure that all campaign money is not pocketed by any politicians (including federal senators) to keep track of WHO donates campaign money and how that affects what bills the politicians vote for to eliminate conflict of interests.

    Years ago, I was a Director of a neighborhood association (NOT an HOA). I encountered disagreements between board members but they behaved as mature adults. As an Andover outsider (I don't even know where Andover is located), this sounds more like a fight between 8th grade boys. "No, I didn't!" "Yes, you did!" "No, I didn't!" "Yes, you did!!" "You're a liar!" "No, I'm not!" "You're a dopey head!" "No, I'm not! YOU'RE a dopey head!" etc., etc. Maybe both of them should be removed. Good luck!!

    Why does a position of authority so often entice the very least capable people? This is not a commentary about this Board. This is a general observation across a wide spectrum of private and public sector administration.

    • @ianian4162
      @ianian4162 4 года назад +1

      Oh, they're capable alright. But there is a difference between political capabilities and administrative skill. In short, they know how to play the game. Administration is too political for the competent administrators, as crazy as that sounds.

    Don't they follow Robert's Rules? Per 43:29 the chair is not supposed to participate in debate unless he officially relinquishes his authority, and maintaining order (i.e. no interruptions, not addressing people directly) is the entire justification for parliamentary procedure. If the Chairman felt he was being defamed he should've let Mr Landry speak & then sued him for damages.

    The Chair should have stepped down, while any question of his conduct might be under question. The Deputy should step in. Every accusation Must be investigated. But. Calling for temp. suspension cannot be used mischievously.
