Where are we on funding 800 military bases, invading and bombing countries that have done nothing to us and fighting proxy wars to keep the military contractors happy.

Lankford added $2,000,000,000,000 to the deficit by voting for the TCJA and does not care about the debt and deficit. More gaslighting.
    Government budget ≠ House budget.

All this money the government wastes, when all this money put towards the CITIZENS in the US, we would not have any homeless people, we would not have any hungry people, we would have health care for all CITIZENS. Tons of money would be left over to worry about everything else. This is nuts.

Senator Lankford, Just this fiscal yr $899billion for Pentagon budget. That's almost $1trillion. With these wars we are told, not only borrowing the Pentagon budget from China, but also asking the taxpayers to guarantee this, add humanitarian, military pay, pensions, infrastructure, salaries of ngo execs to rebuild economy and now reimbursing the Pentagon's marshaling of the Middle East. I am in stunned disbelief and nauseous. We are told "Don't worry. We are being responsible and frugal. We are ridding our dead stock and building bigger and better. Whoever the hell is making this money and not paying taxes... Heavenly Father I beg You to touch these greedy, sadistic, users in whatever You Abba declare fit for these atrocious crimes of treason to the American citizens. Now Pentagon wants to sell F15s to Turkey. This is obvious supplying both sides of these wars. I am so disgusted with you all.

"Don't worry, the government is not a private household. The government can spend whatever they like and then just print the money to pay it back, because there were times when we printed money and it didn't cause inflation. It's all good."

Keynes believed that we can fine tune the economy by spending during market recessions and taxing and revenue building during good times. This was the economic orthodoxy of the 40s 50s and 60s When the oil crisis of the 1970s and foreign competition triggered stagflation (NOT THE FAULT OF KEYNES) we turned to crack pot economists of the Austrian who just let the market run wild and roughshod over our country. Now unelected financiers are free to do whatever they please, buy as many politicians as they please and store masses of wealth in tax havens. We now have debt, massive deficits (because wecannot touch the sacred job creating cows) it is like keeping a dirty moldy house and saying the the mold will make it clean.

This is political hyperbole: half a million here, and a couple million there, and there at this point is a drop in the bucket isn't going to add up to a hill of beans.

Hi Mr Lankford. The border wall is supposed to be payed in PESOS. Where it IS in place, it's fumbling, falling down, being undermined. So : good that it 's not going any further. Keep the money in our pockets and do something real with it, like supporting parents with young children (remember PRO LIFE???).

Think about how much illegals cost the American Taxpayers. When I was starting out , I took in account my budget when PLANNING a family. I waited for my career to be established. I had two children and was able to put them in private school for the fundamentals and then public school later in life. I was able to get them a home and provide food, heat and AC, clothes, and much more importantly love. You say where the border wall has been erected it is falling apart but the border patrol wants the wall. Statistics show everywhere the wall was erected it slow down to migration and more importantly it’s slowed the crime rates in the areas that they were coming across. To enter our country and ask for Asylum you’re supposed to come through the ports of entry. Any other way of entering our country is considered a misdemeanor for first offense and a felony for repeats. So automatically the illegal immigrants are breaking our laws. The burden that illegal immigration places on American tax dollars on the school systems on the healthcare systems on the crime statistics more than pays for that wall. Any rewards that it wall gives Gives us a peace of mind as far as national security.

...but we have to force students to pay back loans they never wanted in the first place so they could get a sub-par livable wage. The banks that issued the usurious loans, the universities with ridiculous tuition, and businesses that require a college degree have no responsibility or culpability for their role in the student debt crisis. Even if all student loans were re payed tomorrow the deficit would still be over 30 trillion. When will the people who spent the other 30 trillion be forced to repay. They most likely have more money than broke students who only went to college to get a job. Everything learned in college can be learned online for free. The money created for student loans did not exist before the loans were issued. Who will be receiving all this money? We have not had serious monetary reform for hundreds of years. I think it is about time...
