      Hi Phil, thank you for your great comments there mate.
      I’m glad my genuine thoughts and experiences have helped you with your choice of buying a Vixen.
      I think watching a genuine owner review is much more real than watching someone who is being paid or gifted the item. Thank you again mate let me know how you get on with your Vixen.

    Another great post. Just seems like you’re a real normal guy. With honest information. Not an influencer that’s sponsored. A couple months back I asked you which length and you recommended the long and I couldn’t be happier. Now I just need to get those mods. It also makes me happy with the decision to keep this over the cricket. Makes me happy with my purchase.. If I may ask, why do you not like FX? I don’t have any but I thought about that M4 as my next acquisition. Keep up the great work! Love seeing people love what they do. - Jas (So Cal)

      Hi Jas, thank you for your kind comments! I just be myself on camera mate! what you see is what you get! I think it’s the best way to be on RUclips especially when it comes to reviewing products! As for FX I have owned one and it was absolutely terrible had it from new and leaked like a burst tyre mate! Couldn’t get any kind of reliability and forever loosing zero! Tried everything with the thing and lots of other people having same issues with same model at that time! Maybe they r got better now I don’t know but for me I don’t like them at all especially in sub 12! I honestly wouldn’t have one if I was offered one for free brand new I would decline it.

    I bought my vixen second hand from blackpool airguns for £995 about 2 months ago fitted with a carbon shroud, the gun is pristine. I did want a short barrel but this was to good a deal to turn down and any way on seeing it the rifle looked superb and not long anyway, it's as light as a feather beautifully made and deadly accurate, I've fitted mine with a immersive optics 14 x 50 prismatic. I have a hw110k and thought it brilliant till owning the vixen. AGT make superb rifles and CZ barrels are among the best so together they make for an incredible combo. I think you're as happy with yours as i am with mine Denny.

    1) If you were forced to give up an air gun would you keep the Hunstman or the Vixen?
    2) If you did win the lottery what would be the first Airgun you’d buy? (Obviously price being no object)

    Interesting to hear your thoughts. Personally, I don't think there is a 'best' air rifle out there. There are a number of rifles that are equally as accurate and reliable as one another, and I think it comes down to preferred form factor and styling that the shooter wants. Probably buying a rifle and then investing in it is one of the better ways to go about getting your ideal rifle rather than working your way through owning different rifles just out the box. Never shot an AGT myself, probably one I should get round to at some point.

    • @Ratsinthereticles

      I agree this is just my opinion on the Vixen I think it’s the perfect all rounder after my mods! Thanks for watching and commenting mate.

    • @Phunkitup
      @Phunkitup 3 месяца назад +3

      I'm with you on this. Everyone has their preference/taste.
      The way to go is like you mention.
      Make a list of 1. what you need (purpose), 2. what you can afford, 3. What you can/need to modify later on (if needed as you get familiar with the equipment), 4. Upgrade if the above isn't enough.
      There is no one fits all.
      That being said, I love the Vixen FAC long. However, the buttock is weak, and the guard rail needs an upgrade. The shroud is optional, in my opinion. Would recommend it if you can.
      All together, it becomes an expensive hobby quickly 😅. But when the wife goes shopping, there is no difference😂.

    Maybe he did drop a rabbit at 90 m but there is no way on earth he knew he was going to have a clean kill! That’s just irresponsible . and by the way, good honest review I’m giving up my FAC license and my fire rifles because of the hassle and stress of it all, and I’ve decided to buy an AGT vixen long.22 i’ve never shot one. I’ve never seen one. I’ve never picked one up, but I’ve got a feeling about this rifle just by the research I’ve done
    ,I hope I’m not disappointed…👍

      Personally I wouldn’t dream of taking a shot at that distance but each to their own! As for getting a vixen I bought mine back in 2021 with out seeing one in the flesh! There’s not many knocking around at the moment so you may have a long shop on? First thing you will need to do is buy an alloy hand rail as the plastic one will give you issues with accuracy! It’s a great little gun especially for pest control. Thanks for watching and your comments.

    We can all blame this bloke ,he made me buy a Vixen lol i ended up with the short in .177 ,changed the pistol grip to a Hugo fat grip ,topped it with a 3x12 Arken Zulus,and a HW XLK mod and its dropping corvids at 56y with head shots ,i am use to shooting firearms and gave up after 20 years and went back to air rifles, this is the nearest fit to my old AR15 and is a joy to shoot, light weight, and stoots like a laser

    I have a HW9KT I'm thinking of getting a PCP just to see what they are like, ive narrowed it down to three after months of research either a HW100 T or a AGT Vixen long or a FX Dynamic 500, the HW100 & the Vixen are around the same money BUT with the aluminium bottom rail & the shroud upgrades that you recommend & say are essential then the Vixen is the same sort of money as the FX Dynamic 500, i haven't shot any PCPs at all let alone the three that i mentioned & really fancy, do you have any shooting time with the HW100 & the FX Dynamic as comparison to the Vixen?, your Vixen looks superb btw.

    • @Ratsinthereticles
      @Ratsinthereticles  2 месяца назад +1

      Hi I have shot the HW100 nice but I got a revere instead and don’t regret it! As for FX air guns I wouldn’t have one if I was offered it for free! And that’s the truth! Just my opinion and experience of sadly owning one a few years ago before I started RUclips it was awful and the reputation of them goes before them do some research and see for your self! When they’re good they’re good but it’s getting them to the good point! Not for me sadly.

    • @Ratsinthereticles
      @Ratsinthereticles  2 месяца назад

      Hi I’m guessing the longer will be slightly more accurate maybe? But most people who get the short end up putting a silencer/moderator on it as they bark like hell due to the shorter barrel and it end up being as long as the longer version due to the moderator I’ve seen 100s of vixens with a 4/6” moderator on them and it always makes me think why didn’t they just buy the vixen long? But I get why they opted for the short as some people like a very compact rifle.

    If you want to be FAC just get a 177 it's the closest to fac without having to get one, i know it sounds silly but it's a faster pellet. Don't like the pistol grip I've shouldered the uragan 2 then straight to vixen so thats more money on a grip then like you said compressor and rail, so it is expensive oh yeah more money on a shroud, so we are up a other 500 pound without compressor

      Hiya, the Vixen is fantastic, only thing that's really needed for a long version anyway is the alloy rail, been shooting mine for years, backyard friendly and very accurate, so your additional costs of owning a vixen is not necessarily accurate, most people will have a diver bottle, most would put up with the grip ( subjective)
      so in reality i spent 120 quid on top of purchase price.
      Now i accept some people would not have the extra to spend on top of initial investment.
      Totally agree with your 800fps 177💪

      Hiya, respectfully most people can't afford a Ripley, or indeed the years waiting on buying a new one, obviously everything is purely subjective.
      Lots of guys like the guns that look like they from a toy shop😅 From experience the Ripley doesn't necessarily perform any better than said Vixen, however i will totally agree that they are wonderful rifles hand made by true craftsman.
