In 1961, when I was three years old, my dad built the house that he still lives in. Recently I have been helping him go through things and we emptied the hall closet. I found that it is naked drywall. Not taped. Not mudded. Just drywall. I asked him about it and he just said that he doesn't like taping and mudding drywall.

If not finished in time you can move to the basement and make the workout room a temporary nursery for the boys while you use the guest room. It’s all doable.

Of course you are ready, you have a house in town with finished space and a fenced back yard for Leo and the dogs plus you have help with Leo and the baby. . The guys can go to work on the mountain and make lots of noise for months on end without waking up a newborn.
If I may make a recommendation, a few years ago we installed a new shower. I wanted the ceiling tiled as well, my contractor thought I was crazy, by far it’s the best thing we ever did, no moldy, peeling paint on steamy ceilings, and the contractor is now a believer… dense-shield the ceiling you won’t regret it in the long run.

Babies come when they're damn well ready. I have three. The first was one week late, the second was born on his due date (his older brother's birthday), and the third was one week early. And you know what? All three are precious blessings in their own way. They are grown men now with families of their own. More precious blessings.
I have a recording of my 33 year old son reading “I love you forever.” He was 7 and it is my favorite gift.

That's a very special book to my children and grandchildren. My 44 year old son signs his letters with "love you forever and like you for always". It melts my heart. ❤

One of the best parts of Trent and Allie doing the vast majority of work on their home is not dealing with the scheduling and reliability antics of most contractors. The actual work is usually good... it's just so darn hard to get quotes, get timelines, get anything reliably.
You are so right!! My daughter bought a home last fall and it needed some repairs, almost impossible to gind good people to come do work. We have done a lot ourselves so far. I do most work on my home myself as well. It is especially hard to find people in our rural area.
The two favorites of this video were Leo mimicking his Dad hanging ceiling drywall ( man he is cute!!) and Trent showing his dance moves!!!

Leo says barbeque sauce, so cute. Before you know it, he'll be talking big sentences, and it's like you said Allie, it's a lot of fun to watch him, learn and create. I just have this big smile on my face everytime Leo talks, some of it so clear. I love it.

My son is a painter and an excellent drywall nud dude. He lives in Baltimore and could never leave his Maryland daily fishing after work. He is self emoyed and has a RUclips channel he is trying to get off the ground. Vinnie's Fishing. He is hysterical, entertaining and catches a lot of fish.

Love seeing LEO “ helping”… these are his toys.. his brain is learning literally everyday… touch & feel from Dad and. Guys. It’s a guy thing & freedom toward being a BOY, etc., walking in mud, water pools. Find spot for grass to walk on. Try LEO to work with Dad & guys in morning ALONE without holding Mommy hands, give him independence.. introduce vocabulary tools, saw. , hammer, etc. His little brain soak it up😀

YAY!!! Leo can now be a "green man" like he wanted to be in a previous video! As soon as I saw the first book cover I was thrown back in time to childhood and meeting the author Robert Munsch for our new school library grand opening! Love You Forever is the classic baby gift book for me to give.
That was my favorite baby book when my son was little. For years I quoted that to my boy every day! Brought a tear to my eye!

I could never read "I will Love You Forever" to my toddler daughter as it always made me cry before the ending. And of course my daughter is now in her mid 30's and I am about to be 71. My own mother passed away at age 91 in 2018, so now it is even less likely I will ever read it all the way through without becoming a soggy sentimental mess!!

I do have family that lives in Park city Utah so if not for my unfortunate near federal massive stroke that I’m currently recovering from I would definitely fly out there and help you guys on the jump, but of course my health comes first.
So with that being said I really appreciate your uploads on the construction of your house and it’s such an absolute joy to see Your house coming together with your hard work and dedication. June 19 was when my daughter was due 33 years ago now. :) She ended up being born the week before. My son, HOWEVER, decided he was NEVER coming out and went 42 weeks... I was miserable! It was 110 degrees out and back then the hospitals only kept you more than a few hours and then sent you home. 14 hours is NOT long enough for rest purposes. It was Labor Day weekend, too. Very appropriate. ;)

Never know -- could happen. ;) Personally, I hate working with drywall, but the outcome is always so great. Worth it, but arguably the least enjoyable part of any construction process. So inspired by your drive and commitment to keep pushing through. We ALL know it's not easy, but kudos to you for not quitting! I know it seems overwhelming, but you've come SO much farther than you have left to go. The end is in sight. You've got this!

I suddenly was back in first grade and my teacher was reading that book to us.Whenever you read the part where it says "I love you forever forever and always, for as long as I'm living, my baby you'll be," you have to sing it, you cannot just say those words!!!!! Such an awesome awesome book to have come full circle at 48 years old!!! Shh you don't have to tell anyone that part. :)
