Favorite memory of this song is when the two trombones played trombone so loud during Battle of the Heroes that the band director told them to pull back because he didn't want to scare the kids.

Our band director conducted this with a lightsaber during out concert
Aderm Gaming we had a concert where we played it and 2 people came on stage during the battle of the heroes with lightsabers and were fighting. I didn’t know this and I was playing, while trying not to laugh at the same time and let me tell you that is the hardest thing ever

I have the same problem playing tuba a lot of the time. The only time I was actually in over my head (recently) was playing an original (unarranged, as the original composer had written it) version of Back to the Future. More credit for low winds and percussion!
The tuba trainsition from Augie’s Great Municipal Band into Across the Stars is killing me
I'm a 1st flute player. My band is playing this in our spring concert and it sounds so cool. My band loves the entire song, but everyone loves the "Cantina Band" part the best. I really love to play "Across the Stars". I think that it sounds so peaceful and beautiful. I feel bad for the clarinets with all those triplets in "Across the Stars" and the "Battle of the Heros" parts lol. My band director gets so excited whenever we play through the entire thing because it sounds so awesome and cool. My friends have told me that they can hear us playing from all the way in the cafeteria and they have said that it sounds so great and cool. Anyways, I'm done with my rant lol. I just love talking about band and how awesome it is to be in band. ❤❤❤😂😂😂

I gate-keep Star Wars so hard I actually asked my mom (our temporary band director at the time) if me and the other tenor could be the only ones playing the Across the Stars melody because the other two who played it with us (one horn and one bass guitar) just couldn't play it correctly and she actually agreed and we absolutely slayed it

I played it last year. From rough memory, I think I had cowbell, crash, and triangle somewhere in there. I don't think I had a part for Battle of the Heroes (but I wanted that glockenspiel part). I know I played suspended throughout, but I loved The Emperor Arrives specifically and police whistle on Augie.

Hello! I’ve been a Euphonium player for 3 years now and our For my assessment I have to do a duet of the Star Wars “Main Title” with a melephone player and I’ve only got 3 weeks to practice it and it’s already been a week and I haven’t practiced yet 😖

as a first clarinet playing this piece for disney this year in may, i am always worried about my embouchure falling apart by the end of battle of the heroes. not to mention accidentally moving my finger the slightest bit on those triplets in across the stars.

Across the Stars was a complete butt. A beautiful song maybe but hell with those triplets. And the start for Part 1 Clarinet (Which I played) With those fast triplets and trying to get the fingering in time!
