Stratovarius has never gone, at least from 2009 until now they have consistently recorded albums & toured around the globe. After the performance decrease between 2004-2009, people got disinterest and has been very difficult to regain trust and mass support though in terms of respect, people still consider current line up as one of the main drivers of the scene. Additionally, in this 2010-2020s to create good music is not a key driver to reach fan support but a good marketing campaign (see Sabaton, Powerwolf or recently the Pumpkins United concept from Helloween) and then a strong performance with additional elements in the shows (pyrotechnics for instance or customized scenarios) to have this first impact to catch the attention rather than the music itself. Even bands like Nightwish since many years has supported the music performance with those 'value adding' elements. Avantasia also has sold a lot of marketing behind the music. Don't get me wrong though, those bands previously stated are also great bands, marketing has not to be a bad thing but a tool to improve people experience and band experience. And it's a key element in modern music industry. People buy experiences, not CDs. So... If I am reaslitic, I am very skeptical Strato can lead the european metal scene (that's what they did 1996-2005) as marketing behind the band is not so strong, neither live shows are following the previously written elements. There's huge room for improvement there for the metal finns. In any case, I will continue listening to them and attending shows: they play memorable music and they're very clean live.

First time hearing this song I gotta say it's not half bad. This coming from a Stratovarius fan from before 2000 but not so much after that as I felt they grew quite stale. As for the locals despite the lineup changes I think it's safe to speak for majority of Finnish people when I say Stratovarius was mostly known for the two Timo's, Kotipelto and Tolkki. Not saying others haven't been equally important but whenever someone thinks of Stratovarius you can't not think of those two. As for comeback, there's still room to fill those summer festivals so go for it!

it is not so fast and catchy, but IMHO Eternal and Survive are the peaks of their new sound... with a strong Jani Liimatainen hand in it all... it is midtempo, heavy, kinda proggy kind of power metal and it is super cool :) ... if you enjoy this, check out Excalion, especially Emotions (or Waterlines with the previous singer) :)
Not only stratovarious im waiting heavenly too, for a comeback with new song/album
Just learned about them a week ago, those guys are LEGIT!!! (Power metal novice)
Imperial age is also another great band
