A Great surprise!!!! Well, come back Seán. Where have you been? Very many thanks for the new video. You are the only one who you make long videos trying to explain the subject as better,as you can. Hope we see you again soon.
Ar fheabhas, a Sheáin. It all makes perfect sense when it is explained so well. I don't think that it was grammar that held back Irish.I think it was an aul' defeatist attitude. Ach ta sé ag athrú anois. Lean ar aghaidh.
Fear mé - I'm a man - my essence Is fear mé - I'm a man (not a woman) - my essence Fear is ea mé - I'm a MAN- my essence Fear atá ionam - I'm a man ( as in a visual description) Tá mé i m'fhear- I'm a man (as in I've reached manhood or in reference to a change of state) Fear mise - I'M a man - my essence Is fear mise - I'M a man (not a woman) - my essence Fear is ea mise - I'M a MAN- my essence Fear atá ionamsa - I'M a man ( as in a visual description) Tá mise i m'fhear- I'M a man (as in I've reached manhood or in reference to a change of state)
Seán What would be nice to have would be a recording of pronunciation of words not found on teanglann. At the beginning levels maybe the pronouns, orm fum .... At the higher levels maybe pronunciation of verbs in the Modh Coinníolach and aimsir ghnátchaite. I have studied Irish for years and finally picked up the proper pronunciation of bhfaidheadh in a video a native speaker made.
I believe there's a real need for a user-friendly pronunciation guide, free, online. I have been reluctant to do it myself because I am not a native speaker, and have focussed more on the grammar with some pronunciation tips. I will think about this snd see what can be done.
@@karendonn9980 good on you. Hopefully they will eventually get sound files for the phrases too because it would help learners with the pronunciation of words inside a sentence
I hope you are still around, and doing fine, 🤗🥰, thank you very kindly for all these lessons .. I cherish them all-- three are greatly helping me.. prayers and love and care, to you and your family and loved ones.. and, thank you again... immensly 🏆🎊

Although you will hear a bit of chaos around 'tú' and 'thú' at times in Irish, the general principle is that 'tú' is used when it is the subject carrying out the action and 'thú' is use when it is the object of the verb/action. So Chonaic mé thú for I saw you (object) but Chonaic tú mé for You saw me (subject). The object form is also used after the information (predicate) in the copula. It is treated like a subject there. Is múinteoir thú. (Múinteoir is the information which thú follows).
@@anbocmor Thank you for your quick reply - that sounds more complicated than I thought, is this a generally big subject you might do another video on if I say "please" very nicely and add cream on top of it? :) (imagine me looking at you like a little puppy, thanks)
Good to see you again. You have been missed. Enjoyable lesson. Thanks Eileen Carr

Why is it "Ba mhúinteoir thú" with thú and not tú because you are making a statement, not adressing the 2nd person? Also GRMMA!!
