Right. In fact, a year down the road I feel the screen on this is too small for me. Haven't touched it in months. I play all my emulated games on my PSP now when on the go. It just has a way bigger screen.
Jazz Jackrabbit is an awesome game. It was originally a DOS game. I played it in the 90s on a 486pc. You should definitely put some time into it. Also, you might want to run it in dosbox on a PC. Open Jazz isn't that good, or at least it wasn't years ago. I don't think it's ever been updated, but I could be wrong. Assuming it is working OK, open jazz can play all of the episodes and there are a lot.
I really don't know what this open dingux is supposed to be. The actual Dingoo Digital A320 has a lot of software and Anbernic's devices cannot run any of that software, at last the RG350. If you check openhandhelds site and go to the dingoo section, there is a ton of software for it going back to about 08. If you try it and they run, could you let me know. These games are for the original dingoo A320, which is what all of these dingoo machines are ultimately based on.
I have a couple questions... How does the SNES emulator work, especially with FX chip games? GBA? Dosbox? Is the genesis emulator picodrive? If so, how well does that run? Also, check out Giana's Return. It's a very good game. There is a dingoo version of it, if this version of Dingux is compatible.. If you decide to do a part two, I hope you include a review of the emulators. There is a HUGE spread of quality with these PD emulators. It would be nice to know the specs of the machine too.
lol.. I'm going to answer all your comments in this one bro.. As I've played with it more I've noticed some other things about it. Like connecting it to a TV and USB controller and using it as a console, etc... That's what the other USB port is for. So there maybe a part II. And yes Starfox runs.👍👍👍 I'll check out some of the software for the dingoo A320 on this too. I doubt it will run, but you never know.... Yeah after awhile my eyes do start to bug out on me... The open source games like Jazz Jackrabbit and Super Tux are awesome to see on this that for sure.
@@RetrogamerGenX Thanks, I appreciate the reply. Sorry about leaving all the comments, I just think the subject is interesting. Back when they first released the a320, I was gonna get it. It was only $99 and these things were usually twice that and there were few of them. I have both the GP32 and the GP2X. But it really wasn't any better than the Gp2X, so I passed on it. The GP2X is great for Genesis (even plays virtua Racing 60fps, full 16 bit sound), PCE, GB, GBC, some GBA and various others, plus the games that run directly. But SNES is not very good and C64 is also not very good. I've been thinking about replacing it. I hope you do get around to a part 2, especially since you bought it and aren't shilling it. Is there any particular reason you chose this model over the 350p? The screen is larger as is the whole thing. I think it has a faster CPU as well. I was going to buy one, but then they disappeared. But I see they are back on Amazon for 79 Dollars. All the reviews seem to be good. This model you are reviewing, the one thing that makes me want to spend the extra 20 bucks is that screen. By appearances, it looks like it's about the size of the game boy micro. That screen was tiny.
Oh your good bro.. This seems to play C64 and SNES games fine. Sega 32X is another story, it ran like crap.. Then I found out the emulator, PicoDrive that shipped with it, was a version that didn't play 32X. Then I downloaded the right version.. No problems since.. The only system I'm having issues with some games running is the PS1. Some game like Grand Turismo run great, others don't. But that brings me to why I picked this model instead of the 350.. I'm way more into what I call retro games. Gen 4 and earlier. So I really wanted something that would be more for the older games. The reason I picked the one with just a d pad.. So really just a personal choice. I'd recommend either one, great products for the price. Also the rg300x is way bigger the the GB Micro. About double the size. It just looks like the micro. @@RetrogamerGenX I play gen 2games almost exclusively along with C64 (which is roughly equivalent to the gen 2) and arcade games. But there are some games on the SNES/Genesis that interest me. Also the emulators for it are very old and don't support certain new features like the DPC+ Atari 2600 chip (in games like Mappy) or even the megacart games of the Colecovision. I'd really like to have good DOS emulation too. The RG350 review says the Dos emulation is not all that great. But the review is from like a year and half ago and I don't know if new versions have been released for it. The review I watched was of the 350R or M and the one on Amazon is the RG350P. I don't know what the P means. The other variants are all physical and not of the machine. Funny but I think the OS is related to the GP2X, perhaps a reskined open2x. I saw in one of the paths you showed a 2X reference, and I recall seeing something else too. The GP2X is a linux based ARM handheld and probably fairly similar. One thing I wish these RG machines had was standard batteries. MY GP2X is like 15 years old and runs on AA rechargables. They will probably be available for the rest of my life whereas I have a bunch of stuff that is now useless because the battery is dead and there are no replacements. That is why I never bought a Wiz or a Caanoo, they both use built in lithium batteries. Do you happen to know if they use a standardized battery like a common generic size and shape? Thanks so much for your time. It's greatly appreciated.
Ah old gamer like myself.. LOL Well I know it supports DPC because pitfall II runs, Might have to try a dpc+ game. Cant's say I've tried too many DOS games on it. Zork 1 and 2 and Doom. Doom ran ok but crashed.. Might just be a setting or something on my end cuz I added it. I wouldn't read too much into the stuff from China.. Most of is all rehashed software and hardware called something else.. lol From what I read, listed below is the battery that would be a direct replacement. But I'm sure its not easy to replace. Ain't nobody in our age bracket who can see that screen. My GP2X which has a screen probably twice the size is bad enough. Back in 07 when I bought it, I could see it perfectly.
