Kevin broke the law in less than 3 minutes. Even though he was the coolest jaywalker ever, he was still a jaywalker.
But is jaywalking illegal in the city that GTA V is set in? Lots of places have removed jaywalking laws spec bcuz they arent actually anything more than moneymaking schemes and ways to target minorities.
Tho the way he crossed the street wud likely still have been considered recklessly endangering folks bcuz he didnt take the shortest path across the road, but ran at an angle and weaved between traffic.
Tho the beauty of that crime is its a subjective one and you dont actually commit the crime of reckless endangerment unless a cop says you did and tickets/arrests you for it. Bcuz crossing that street at an angle cud be not reckless endangerment if there werent cars on the road that were endangered by said crossing.
So my verdict is... It depends on whether their city/state law considers jaywalking a crime (and how they define jaywalkin; for example, Salem Oregon considers jaywalkin a crime but only calls it jaywalking if crossing at an angle or near a designated crosswalk or you impede traffic, which means you can prty much always cross the street if theres no traffic)

i didn't include those, because i understand that this video is a performance. although i know factually that he's not a police officer, i choose to suspend my disbelief and pretend like he is. as such, i did not include his examples of grand theft auto, because he "justifies" it as commandeering a vehicle. in the same vein, he was also a firefighter and a paramedic, and driving a vehicle that you're paid to drive isn't grand theft auto.

He literally didn't manage to stop a single car, because he was fine with stealing a police car, and using that vehicle to ram straight into a criminal's car, damaging police property, but drew the line at shooting at that criminal's tires.

I appreciate that the one time Kevin won big at the races is when he was playing on the straight-and-narrow. Game was rewarding all that good intention.
San Andreas is so chaotic that even when you aren’t trying to break the law, the law will break around you. Seriously, it’s like it’s own little world. I’ve yet to see another GTA game where all the pedestrians interact with each other in the way they do in SA.

All GTA 5 has is occasional police chases going by. San Andreas has police chases, random shootings and fights etc. It’s so much more alive

Honestly, I follow traffic laws in GTA as best I can because it adds to the immersion, especially in GTA V in first person.
I only break it when the game requires it such as chases, timed missions, evading police, etc.
