@12:58 During development, they originally intended to have that mission play out inside a helicopter with the loud sound of rotary blades in the background but was later changed for reasons I can't quite remember. This is why CJ and Cesar's dialogue has them shouting despite there seemingly being no actual need for it. I assume it was either too expensive or too late in development to bother bringing the actors back into the studio for a re-recording.
I suspect it's due to inclusion of flight school later in the game. So by the plot CJ can't fly a chopper *yet*
i know so much about the game and cancelled missions but not this one
i assumed it was because making ryder a villain was a last minute decision and so recording these lines + making this mission were both afterthoughts

Hey kev, this is unrelated in many ways but wanted to just thank you.
My words may not be the best at what I'm trying to say, but what i say is..
Seeing you put out content consistently helped me deal with life when it was hard to even think of a brighter future. Life is still not that great
But getting to see you be more creative, and the leader that you are, it makes me smile and even makes me want to work hard in what i want to do on this platform.
I hope that, as time passes i too even understand why i ever chose this platform and get to see you grow more and more and see myself grow more. Thank you for all those videos of Torchering your Sims, GTA 5 mod videos and many more which have been helpful to me.

Yeah, saying that one of the biggest upgrades is the new checkpoint system really is indicative of the whole game. The "checkpoints" are just so that you don't have to drive back to the mission marker. The only mission that I've personally seen with a proper checkpoint in it is the one where you pick up OJ Loc from jail and that was already in the 2004 version to an extent.

12:58 The reason they’re yelling is because originally, Caesar and CJ were going to be in a helicopter for that mission, but Rockstar changed it because it would obviously be suspicious. However, Rockstar forgot to lower their voices.

When I did that mission just last week and called the cops on the DA, a car rained down from the Sky during the cutscene.
Game still has issues, but it has had a bunch of improvements. Rain, for one, looks so much better.

@@I_am_a_cat_ I never played the original san andreas so some things idk if they're improved or not. My boyfriend told me about the checkpoints though! It's definitely better not having to drive all the way back to restart a quest xD And visually the game seems darker in a weird way.. They cranked up the contrast or something xD

Hi Kevin. I know you’ve been trying out new forms of content lately and I just wanted to give my opinion on it.
First and for most I wanna say that The tone of this comment is meant to be only positive, just so there’s hopefully no misunderstanding. I know sometimes it’s hard to tell when you’re just reading a comment.
I like what you’re doing in terms of the new standing and commenting format. However, I just want you to know that you don’t have to make your videos strictly comical for people to watch. You are one of those people that can easily carry a video with just your character alone without needing to go out of your way to add specific jokes or little skits. If you enjoy adding these jokes then that’s great but don’t feel you need to. I feel like you could even do other types of content in general outside of gaming (if that’s something you’re interested in) take you’re life hacks video for example. You are an interesting and entertaining person all on your own. If you wanna keep doing this kind of content then great, I do enjoy it and I can tell you are putting a lot of effort into it. However, like I said your character and personality alone could carry any type of content you choose to do. You could literally doing a video of you just building Lego and talking about whatever you’re interested in and it would be great because you have a natural sense of humour that doesn’t need direct jokes to support it. Hopefully everything I’ve said makes sense and is taking from a complementary perspective. Keep up all the great work Kevin.

Happy little accident when I increased playback speed to 1.5. Kevin's already noticeable accent becomes more humorous and I can binge more episodes at a slightly increased pace.

I do think when they were basically dissecting the game to fit it with the graphics of unreal engine 4 and adding the additional things to the game, they should have done a through polish because I feel like most of the bugs and what not are from 04 and had resurfaced and clearly they didn't think about that until they had seen the downfall of sales and complaints

Kevin with GTA definitive edition is like me with Fallout 76 after its initial release. It was indeed a buggy empty mess, but i still got a helluva lot of fun out of it being a buggy mess. Tho it was more fun before all my friends stopped playin cuz they got bored of how shit the game was.

Mess or not. I'm really having a fun time with the Definitive Edition all these months later.
And as far as I'm concerned, as the world falls into the flames, there's no room to overhate anything miniscule or irrelevant. And just treasure every moment that includes moments in messy but fun games.
I maintain that I've been enjoying these. I finished GTA3 right after launch and am currently about halfway through Vice City.
I guess it's a blessing in disguise that my schedule hasn't allowed me to reach my fave GTA title, San Andreas just yet; however it does seem nostalgia is going to trump any objective issues when it comes to my personal enjoyment.
Anyway, still love watching these vids. Kev cracks me up!

The reason they're shouting in that mission and why it's such a pointless mission, is probably that it was added later at the last minute and used dialogue from somewhere else. Especially since Ryder is there who then becomes a target in our San Fierro phase, but other evidence in the game points to him not even being involved as an antagonist until late-game changes were made.
