    ABOUT DRESSRELIEF
My name is Mariel, and I started getting into fashion in the past few years and am learning so much about it. I'm drawn to fashion as I believe it is an art form that not only allows individuals to express themselves but also creates a history and record of different time periods and generations. I've had a lot of fun learning how to put together outfits and use different styles to tell a story through the way I dress. I started this channel to share what I learn along my fashion journey and hopefully help others learn and find their style as well.
I post videos at least every other week, mostly regarding fashion but may include a few beauty/makeup and lifestyle related videos as well. If you're interested in this content, please give my channel a shot and subscribe!

Can you ever be too old to rediscover your aesthetic? I’m 54 and need an injection of jewel tones, whimsi goth, quirky but comfortable clothes.

Thank you so much your advice is so good! I’m so glad you had brought up the coquette and dark colors because I love pink so much and lately I have been loving the coquette style and wanted inspiration and as soon as you brought up dark colors and coquette I thought that was a great idea for me to do thank you so much again this video really helped me! 💗

I feel like I get self conscious about committing to clothes so I just wear really boring clothes, black grey or navy leggings, graphic t shirts. Now that I’m 30 I want to refine my style. I like hippie/boho and artsy/whimsy space/cosmic core and cottagcore. I have to also work with the limits of places that offer a full plus size range and my small budget.

Thank you so much for this video! A big part of my insecurity was that i couldn’t find the right clothing to wear that i felt like i looked good in and felt comfortable in but thanks to your tips i discovered i’m a mix of downtown, dark academia and some other random aesthetics/own style!! I can’t thank you enough ❤

Your advice is always so helpful! I organised my pinterest board because of your channel and it’s way easier for me to figure out what specific things I like when I can look at aesthetics individually, instead of having it all mixed up together or organised by formality or something else. I like some aesthetics that to me felt contradictory, but when I did this I realised there’s a specific skirt that’s common in almost all of them! And I find them comfortable too so i know it’s a safe buy if I find one second hand. I also used Ellie-Jean Royden’s style roots theory to help me find common ground between the aesthetics I like!

I'm a whimsical, light but mostly dark academia combo in my main wardrobe choices. I love steampunk too, so sprinkle a nod to that on occasion. So different from my work uniform... (navy hospital scrubs)😮😅 Just love your channel and content Mariel. Soooo no more 🐄 print for you?? 🤔😜🤣 ❤Thank you for another excellent video ❤

    • @dressrelief

I have a video on 90s aesthetics which includes 90s grunge/kinderwhore, a video on tumblr 2014 grunge, one on the mall goth aesthetic.. (all should be in my how to build an aesthetic wardrobe playlist) “Alt” is kinda vague and is an umbrella term for many different aesthetics so depends on what you’re looking for but i have videos on quite a few alt aesthetics already!
