Same here. I used to have a long hair and every outift looked of. My mum cut my hair in layers in a shaggy style a while later and the same outfits looked a lot better to me
Hard agree on incorporating bits and pieces you like of any aesthetic/core that fit *your* style! I also believe that most people’s personal style doesn’t fit into just one single aesthetic.
I draw a lot of inspiration from all forms of media I consume usually video games, anime and digital illustrations in general and I love approaching fashion in the same way ppl approach art bc I truly believe both art forms are best when you experiment with all the little ways you choose to express yourself. Not saying you have to go out in full cosplay everytime but personally I take every opportunity I can get to incorporate some sort of character design I like into my own outfits :p
all this were good tips. Kinda already did a lot of them lol. I'm a dude and recently bought thighs and fish nets and good damn i love how they look!! also i love my shaggy mullet hairstyle i do by myself, and my black nails paired with my jewerly. You just gotta be yourself and your personality and aura will shine trough
Love this!! I especially agree with the wrong shoe theory, I'm butch/genderqueer + i just wear menswear but pairing that with weird platforms always looks so much cooler
I love these sm!! just subbed, I love your chill vibe. I agree on the "feeling too alternative for 100% coquette",, I like frills and such, but I feel so uncomfortable in pink. black lace and bows? now we are talkinggg
Not me going into this video wanting tips and instead getting a major confidence boost bc I already wear a lot of what they are talking about 😅 thanks for making me feel better about myself
totally agree with everything stated !! i got a jellyfish hair cut with the choppy layer and i love how it makes any outfit cooler than it usually would be imo
I love accessories like I want rings on every finger, elevated eyes, big frames, vintage bags I like the idea of adding customizations. I did it a lot when I was like in college / high school I could go back to that lol
if you want tattoos but you're too scared/parents won't let you or something, you can always get henna or learn how to do it. it stays for about 10-14 days depending on how you take care of it, and it doesn't hurt at all :)
I've been using the same small black backpack with a cross stitch flower patch I did for a while, it's nice, some people have told me it's cute and they recognized me for it. Also I like to use the red lipstick minimal face makeup a lot, it's simple and kinda relaxing. I may use some other of your tips, very nice video!
Tbh you just literally described me. I normally feel kind of embarrased about this stuff but you have just boosted up my ego so so much. Btw does a fanypack count as a bag? Bc I reall have no idea if it does, but I always wear a black leather fanny back were I have literally everything and my friends are so impressed yet scared as I always have what they need no matter how random it is (like for example I have a random plastic mini white lama???) lol it’s just the way I do things. I also wear all the jewlery that my friends and falily members give me so I have some stacked necklaces, I didn’t know it was a grend until one of my cousins fangirled over it.
Watching this and then finding out I do most of these things without realizing. COOL. 🤘🏽 i have to try the minimal eye makeup or no eye makeup and a bold lip 💄 oooh YAS.
I agree with this 100%. It's such a comprehensive list too AAA. I find it so cool when people rewear sentimental and statement pieces that represent their identity. It helps build personal style and a wardrobe that's quintessentially you. I also love how this video doesn't promote consumerism in the sense that you have to buy x, y, z. This is the first video of yours I came across and I can't help but subscribe already.
I'm so glad to hear that you resonated with my list! :-)) you're right! Didn't even realize that most of things can be found in people's wardrobes or be diy'd. Yay! happy to have to here, thanks for subbing
this is cute, fun video. i feel a bit iffy about baggy clothing being highlighted. its definitely aesthetic and i love seeing someone with that personal style, but i wonder how much of that appreciation hinges on our idealization of thin bodies and demonization of fat bodies. i feel like ill-fitting clothing is idolized on smaller people as a creative choice but considered lazy and shameful for larger people. i additionally wonder why clothes being too large is considered trendy, but clothes being too tight is taboo/trashy (less in the form-fitting, but more TOO SMALL).
Thank you!! (: Absolutely get where you're coming from! It's something that went over my head being "straight" sized so thanks for bringing it to my attention. Fashion should be about expressing yourself, no matter the size or fit and unfortunately like you said double standards continue to exist :///
the glasses thing is so true tho!!!! i've had pretty large octogon frames the last couple of times i've gotten glasses, and its the #1 thing i get compliments on
Thanks for making this video! I’m often insecure when I repeat outfits or wear the same item over and over I also have a sentimental bag that I bring everywhere that used to be my grandpas when he worked up in cranes with my dad
my personal items that i wear every day are this necklace with a key pendant that i bought on an antique fair(?) from a really nice old man for 10 pln (so like 2.5 dollars) and a choker with an ankh that my mum used to wear when she was my age and gave it to me later. btw, i'm so happy that i found your channel, you seem like such an amazing and unique person
i am a serial outfit repeater who loves customizing my everyday clothing items & bags so it came as a (happy) shock to me that some people find it stylish! i guess it's like being jon arbuckle (there are definitely more fashionable examples out there) but wearing the same iconic outfit once a week LMAO
This somehow boosted my confidence, I am usually very careful with what I wear as I feel as if I need to live up to the standards/trends, now not so much? So thank you for this video lol 🫶 Also socks go so well with heels! mainly because in heathers the musical the heathers wear like a blazer and skirt (kind of like a school uniform but it's not) with knee high socks and heels, and the outfits are gorg
Another one is tying your hair like a child kinda, like lil side ponytail with a giant bobble hairband and cute big hair clips, and then a grunge style outfit with it with a metal band t-shirt, so cool
Re: statement glasses- i recommend Zenni Optical, they're SO inexpensive vs traditional optometrists and have so many cute and fashionable choices! I have 4 pairs now including pink glasses when i wanna be fun and sunglass. You can choose to tint any frames u want :D Also, just wanna let ppl know that since Crochet is so trendy now, theres a lot of fast fashion versions out there, and they're to be avoided. Crochet can only be made by hand, and it can take hours even to make a small accesory. The ppl crocheting for fast fashion are getting paid next to nothing. Instead plz support small businesses, or learn to do it yourself, it's very fun
