I usually use trends more as inspiration, to revive pieces in my closet that I haven't worn in a long time, or to sew or DIY something. It's almost like a challenge, to make your outfits look more "trendy" but without buying anything new or to adjust the trend to fit MY style and lifestyle better. i love how respectful she is in this video like she isnt judging the trends or people who like the trends she is just basing it off of her own personal style
I'm so envious of people who rock these pastel yellow or pastel blue shades because I love those and they look very soothing!! but I look down right horrible in pastels lol those are definitely not my colors
The thing about the football/soccer tops is that if I’m wearing a shirt with lettering or branding, I feel like I need to know or at least be able to stand by what it says. I have a few band shirts, exclusively for bands that I would feel comfortable calling myself a fan of. General rule for band shirts is don’t wear a band shirt unless you know the band. I think the same concept can be applied to tops with sports teams
For me 2024 would be to not follow trends like always but to create my style which i'm already doing. It's great to be creative and trying new things but trends are just too much.
I love wearing sports shirts, especially from Brazilian football teams. As a brazilian person you see at least 1 person wearing one in the street. (Usually a teenage boy).
I loving wearing soccer jerseys with like jeans but I have always been wearing that, way before the trend started. I just want to support my team yk but at the same time now that people are making it into a trend, I’ve not worn it as much. Which I honestly find sad because I love them but still.
i cant believe i’m being that person but literally all of these trends have existed before and are just getting recycled ive seen images like the ones in the video floating around since 2020 like maybe even earlier

Dressing a whole outfit and not a paint by numbers thing
i wear a soccer team top everytime they play a match to get myself in a mood for the game😭 this trend kinda gives wearing a band tee even if you’re not a fan of it

I feel the same about the uggs on the exception that I’d buy them as slippers/house shoes if I lived in a colder country, because they look so cozy and would look cute with my pajama sets, but outside the house I could never lol
idk why i have such a bone to pick with blokette (i hate how it looks lol) other than i’m not fond of how the mainstream has been doing coquette aesthetics, but that’s just my inner gatekeeper (i’ve been into the coquette aesthetic and the subcultures for a while, to me it’s still lana del rey/lolita film inspired clothing so everyone just doing the ribbon thing and calling themselves coquette is mind boggling to me)

I feel like the trend of wearing sports jerseys in fashion started with Tate McRae and her new album! It’s super cool seeing pop girlies creating trends again!
So funny how you talked about bloquette and how it's not going to be received that well in real life, but in brazil there's a huge culture of football, sports etc, so it's makes a lot of sense wearing those pieces here, usually the fabrics of the football shirts are very light so its perfect for the hot weather of the country, a lot of friends already used to wear stuff like that before becoming a trend
Most styles are our fvcking cultures shit and how we grew up I see so many people walking around styled like how we grew up that i wonder if so many people are literally ignorant ??
'' The Samba's vintage roots can be traced back to 1950 when a German team donned a revolutionary shoe specifically designed for icy and snowy pitches. This earlier iteration featured an outsole with three cut-out suction cups, providing players with enhanced traction and stability. ''
i like what the blokette style is trying to do in concept, but honestly i think it just comes out very chaotic and clashing a lot of the time 😭 i love mixing feminine & masculine clothes by wearing super baggy pants and a cutesy little cropped top!! same general idea but much more me, i feel it’s more cohesive and pleasing to the eye, & i loveee the silhouette it creates
Anyway the name is ripped off from ladette lad is a guy bloke is also from our culture and is a guy The styles are Ours and How We Grew Up I am a Chick
lol i used to get teased for wearing some of these like 5-10 years ago when it wasn’t cool especially the pastels when bright colours were in, navy mid rise capris which i still own and football/soccer jerseys of a team i have genuinely followed for 15 years. wearing vintage and secondhand wasn’t cool when i was a teen either so i got massively teased for it and now it’s great it’s in because of sustainability but it means the price, quality and ease of finding these pieces are much harder for me especially as a disabled girlie.
honestly i agree with you on most of these maybe for slightly different reasons office siren: i couldnt pull it off honestly, capris: i am a big jorts girlie but i usually style them in a more 90s chris cornell-esque way than the photos you showed, i would love to have uggs maybe the black ones though as they fit my style better, i wish i could pull off that shade of blue my skin tone is NOT made for it, despite the fact that i am very alternative i am loving the yellow i didnt even know it was a trend haha, i used to wear the bayonetta glasses when i was very young NEVER again and finally im w u on the football tops they really dont match my vibe either
I am russian, and sambas have a special place in my heart, they were very popular in 2015-2020, all the cool sporty boys were wearing them all the times (non Russian people sometimes call them gopnik (which is not the same!!!)) they were actually popular all around the Eastern Europe in this years, so seeing Western Europeans/ Americans making them popular again is kinda cute :)
i feel affected by these trends like... 1. baby blue is so flattering on me/its my favorite color 2. i bought bayonetta glasses in 2021 and my boyfriend kept saying i looked like a librarian 3. from like 2020 to mid 2023 i literally wore only things that looked like blokette, like one of the 3 shirts i wore was my mom's school jersey from when she was a kid and a skort, but now i'm in my woman girl era 4. (the office siren is actually so fire)
I cant even rly wear sneakers😭😭 my feet are rly sensitive so they get blisters easily, the only sneakers that I can wear are airforces bc those are the only ones that have never given me blisters😭 I wanna wear converse so bad but when i got some after one day I had 4 blisters, boots don’t do that to me though so that’s good ig?? I love uggs but that might just be bc I grew up in them
The coquette and bows trend is the ONLY good trend this year tbh. I’ve had a major coquette whisper girly phase 2 yrs ago, and it was so fun returning to it, especially since it was everywhere online.

funniest thing is as a british person (especially in the music/ sport scheme) sambas and football tshirts have always been a part of the culture anyways so i find it quite funny that theyre all of a sudden deciding to trend like its just giving sticky pub floor to me as that was my childhood and what i knew. its also reminding me quite a bit of britpop with the fashion ideas, especially liam gallagher (heavy on the adidas/ football stuff) so having a crisis of people thinking im a trend hopper when in reality ive just always been around it lol

It is English 90s, and earlier styles
but also later because normal
Most styles are our fvcking cultures shit and how we grew up
I see so many people walking around styled like how we grew up that i wonder if so many people are literally ignorant ??
ive LOVEEDDD uggs since day one 😞😞 i cant let it goo
i feel like sambas, uggs and blokette has been around for almost 2 years now
sambas were already worn by my generation and my mother's generation
LMFAO !
blokette has been around since i was bloody growing up
The word even comes from our culture
'' The Samba's vintage roots can be traced back to 1950 when a German team donned a revolutionary shoe specifically designed for icy and snowy pitches. This earlier iteration featured an outsole with three cut-out suction cups, providing players with enhanced traction and stability. ''
5:37 in argentina is so common sporty tshirts but used with comfy clothes
Blue and yellow are my favorite colors, so I love to see it 💕
i like what the blokette style is trying to do in concept, but honestly i think it just comes out very chaotic and clashing a lot of the time 😭 i love mixing feminine & masculine clothes by wearing super baggy pants and a cutesy little cropped top!! same general idea but much more me, i feel it’s more cohesive and pleasing to the eye, & i loveee the silhouette it creates
completely agree!!!
It is my cultures styles.
We grew up with most of it since children
With some more but only little tweaks later
Baggy and crop top are A L S O Our Generation's styles !
Anyway the name is ripped off from ladette
lad is a guy
bloke is also from our culture and is a guy
The styles are Ours and How We Grew Up
I am a Chick
There is a ladette culture
Someone thought it cute to rip off MORE of our styles
And also Our Homeland's names
Just turning lad into bloke
5:26 the way u think is exactly how i think too 😭
your intro is sooo cute and nostalgic omg
tyyy ❤
need more of these kind of videos
i got you 🩷
lol i used to get teased for wearing some of these like 5-10 years ago when it wasn’t cool especially the pastels when bright colours were in, navy mid rise capris which i still own and football/soccer jerseys of a team i have genuinely followed for 15 years. wearing vintage and secondhand wasn’t cool when i was a teen either so i got massively teased for it and now it’s great it’s in because of sustainability but it means the price, quality and ease of finding these pieces are much harder for me especially as a disabled girlie.
honestly i agree with you on most of these maybe for slightly different reasons
office siren: i couldnt pull it off honestly, capris: i am a big jorts girlie but i usually style them in a more 90s chris cornell-esque way than the photos you showed, i would love to have uggs maybe the black ones though as they fit my style better, i wish i could pull off that shade of blue my skin tone is NOT made for it, despite the fact that i am very alternative i am loving the yellow i didnt even know it was a trend haha, i used to wear the bayonetta glasses when i was very young NEVER again and finally im w u on the football tops they really dont match
my vibe either
Anyone else here wearing tropical 🏝️🌺 this summer ?😊 (Omg I'm glad she didn't mention tropical patterns 😂)
noo i don't want yall to to think you can't wear something bc i don't think it's for me wear whatever you like !!
Capris are cute as hell but as a someone who was a child in the 2000s and wore them alot in the summertime that tanline is egregious 😭
I am russian, and sambas have a special place in my heart, they were very popular in 2015-2020, all the cool sporty boys were wearing them all the times (non Russian people sometimes call them gopnik (which is not the same!!!))
they were actually popular all around the Eastern Europe in this years, so seeing Western Europeans/ Americans making them popular again is kinda cute :)
It's kinda cute that they have been around since the 50s
And Our Generation and Our Parent's Generation already wore them Decades Before You
It was literally a REHASH when Gopniks did it !
i love love love your videos i've been binging them all day
thank you queen 🩷 ur so real
i loved when you said you wouldn't wear pastel blue but you're literally in a baby blue dress
lol it's white, i think it was the lighting
I like looking at them more than trying to wear them😭
sameee
OMG, the capri trauma is real!!! XD thank you for this great video!!
nah babe, i only passed on the sambas and capris
I can’t get behind capris making a comeback 😂 it’s too much for me
i feel affected by these trends like...
1. baby blue is so flattering on me/its my favorite color
2. i bought bayonetta glasses in 2021 and my boyfriend kept saying i looked like a librarian
3. from like 2020 to mid 2023 i literally wore only things that looked like blokette, like one of the 3 shirts i wore was my mom's school jersey from when she was a kid and a skort, but now i'm in my woman girl era
4. (the office siren is actually so fire)
IM SORRY I NEED UGGS NOW
I didnt know what they were until this (i may or may not be slow) BUT THEY ARE SO CUTEEE!!
I want pink ones :D
I love the simbas, I seen a boy at my school with them, and I’ve never seen anyone in person with them😭
Because hordes have already worn them
I cant even rly wear sneakers😭😭 my feet are rly sensitive so they get blisters easily, the only sneakers that I can wear are airforces bc those are the only ones that have never given me blisters😭 I wanna wear converse so bad but when i got some after one day I had 4 blisters, boots don’t do that to me though so that’s good ig?? I love uggs but that might just be bc I grew up in them
I just wear football tops bc either I have nothing to wear or I just wanna feel comfy outside ^^ (I’m a soccer girlie) 😭
Sambas are timeless
The coquette and bows trend is the ONLY good trend this year tbh. I’ve had a major coquette whisper girly phase 2 yrs ago, and it was so fun returning to it, especially since it was everywhere online.
agreed
You're gorgeous!
Thank you!
trends kill creativity a lot of the time. imo its better to pick pieces u like and build yourself- you can have basics and remix things to be trendy and unique
I wanna puke that our styles, how we grew up, are being called '' trends ''
@@ktcaZ-fs-bv7gv oh? you mean like the "y2k" resurgence and the glamourization of the 80's and 90's styles like grunge?
@@masquerading18 You mean Cultures people are actually from
Grew up in
Connected to their Parent's Cultures ( yeah too high for you )
and the gutting their Cultures
and Cosplay
?
Yeah the sambas I’m passing on too. I have a pair of Cortez’s that I’ve had for years that give the same effect as them in an outfit anyway.
Sambas have been worn by hordes
funniest thing is as a british person (especially in the music/ sport scheme) sambas and football tshirts have always been a part of the culture anyways so i find it quite funny that theyre all of a sudden deciding to trend like its just giving sticky pub floor to me as that was my childhood and what i knew. its also reminding me quite a bit of britpop with the fashion ideas, especially liam gallagher (heavy on the adidas/ football stuff) so having a crisis of people thinking im a trend hopper when in reality ive just always been around it lol
Yeah. And '' Blokette '' ( ladette ) is our fvcking nineties, plus earlier
our teens and childhoods Too
I cannot believe this shit
Literally everything how i fvcking grew up is '' Fashion '' now
We are being COMPLETELY plundered
lol YEAH OASIS ! THAT IS HOW WE ALREADY GREW UP AS K I D S !
C O M P L E T E L Y B U L L S H I T
My mother even wore fvckin S A M B A S !
And ''Coquette '' is Our mothers 60s and Our everything growing up !
Bloody hell. So glad you posted.
It is video after video all over the net ripping off our shit
and HORDES have N O C L U E !
Your intro is so cute
thank you!!
The low top Ugg’s are pure madness Nty 😭
i have to agree like it feels very 7th grade
@@chisom. they’re so fucking ugly like wtf I’ve only seen trend chasing middle schoolers wear them
ooh def passing on the "butter yellow"/specific colors trend. I feel people dress yellow extremely well, but refuse to admit how much it washes them out which makes it look like a mess imo
Girl you can have multiple prescription glasses! I mean if you can afford it, it’s nice cuz you can switch it up.
omg those mary jane pumps you showed @2:12 soooo cute
S O how we grew up
late comment but i had no idea how late i was on sambas being camp and trendy. my mom got them for me last school year and i thought i was the cool boy on the block…chileeee when i saw them gurls wearing them 😭😭😭i was so hurt.
4:50 I thought I was the only one 😂
It's my first time even hearing of most of these
