i feel like theres suchhh a huge difference between online trends and in person trends?? for example ive seen sambas literally everywhere online and i dont think ive actually seen anyone wearing a pair irl
really? i feel like i see them both places tbh but yeah there is a hugeee difference you can always tell who uses tiktok lol
This was the same thing I noticed when the Demonia Camel-311’s were trending. Out of stock everywhere for multiple restocks yet I couldn’t find a single person wearing them out 🤔
@@chisom. its literally tiktokcore cause idk what else to call it 😭
😭😭
I have seen a lot people wearing them actually and I would say that this is a trend that you also can see in rl.
These capris thingys look like 18 century underwear
😭😭
That's kind of a vibe tho? 18th century fashion? Sign me in!
Lmao 💀 🤣
Their bras be looking amazing too!!
Yess they look like bloomers lol
Office Siren feels like an updated version of when millennials wore business casual to the club and parties 😂 but I like it !
wait ur so right omg LMAO
Which is exactly why I'm not a fan 😭
The moral of this tale is simple: never throw away clothes that are "not fashionable anymore" from different era, those trends will come back eventually...
ive moved a couple times and moving again next month and i can fill most my car with vacuum sealed bags of just clothes. i also wont have the same amount of space in the next aprtment. without getting a storage unit how do you rec. storing these clothes
@@Bodhini resell if you can't keep them
yes literally
even more simple version: keep wearing the clothes. its not a crime to not wear whatever is trending.
@@iIypook 𝖤𝗑𝖺𝖼𝗍𝗅𝗒!
It’s so weird seeing people from non-football centred country’s wear football tops, like in the uk every teen boy is wearing one 😭😭Edit: by mentioning the uk i mean that its such a teen-boy thing here, so it feels weird seeing famous people wear them!!
girl yes !! and they've absolutely done it to death here in the US like ur not even about that life
exactlyyyyyy i’m even shocked that it’s even a trend
The uk is literally a football centred country though😭😭 I wear my football shirt and I live in london and even out of london it’s football-y, e.g Leicester, Birmingham, Leeds, bournemouth
Pretty sure they mean American football
but football is so relevant in the UK??? there's football games literally every Sunday that people line up to go to?? ofc they'll wear football tops...
As someone who lives in England, the whole “bloke-ette” thing is so funny to me 😭 looking like 45 year old Barry down the pub
Those Bayonetta glasses are just the narrow acetate frame trend from the mid-2000’s rebranded with a fancy name to make them sound new.
Anyone remember when fashion was adventurous and not just repackaged shit that’s already been done?
Maybe this is narrow minded but I hate 2000s shit it was so ugly then and so ugly now I don't get the appeal and hate that it's coming back in style when I thought I was going to finally be free of it people are probably going to bring mustaches and galay print back in style next 😭 I love it when 70s-80s type stuff is back in style though i wish we could recycle actually GOOD stuff
@@friedrat9430 I couldn’t agree more. The aughts were riddled with cheap synthetic layers upon layers upon layers and ugly designs. Why was everything so SHINY?
@@Nopenopenoooooope I like layers when done right but oml-
I understand what your saying to but nothing in fashion ever truly "brand new". Fashion is constantly going through a 20 yr recycle, where things that were extremely popular and common in one period of time come back with a new name and slightly different look 20 yrs later. But i agree, i think now-a-days that creativity to re-brand something as "new" has gone and now all that is done is a change in name making fashion seem boring and un original.
the trend is named after a videogame character Bayonetta that wears the same glasses and fans started referring to her when they saw glasses like that
I thought it was normal to not follow trends 💀 rich people problems
i really liked how you related things back to your personal style! if you have a strong sense of identity in that way, it's harder to be influenced. i like to experiment with my style but this was a good reminder to be more aware of how certain trends mesh with the overall vibe
yess i think that's one way to shop sustainably cause if you won't wear it in five years at the very least it likely isn't a good fit for your wardrobe and finding clothes that work with the rest of my clothes is v important to me
5:17 Hey girly. A Brazilian here.... in Brazil is pretty normal to go out in a futebol team shirt... very popular among masculine presenting people.
*like go to a bar, show, out in public etc....
Like Brazilians in the last months being making fun and memes about gringos wearing brazilians futebol team shirts for the aesthetics... like lol
Like in Korea, a small BR regional team (Campinas), has there shirt become a trendy
hii that's so interesting i would definitely say it's not a trend for yall and not a part of culture and yes lmaoo "gringos" have reallyyy been running with this one
fuck you mean 'gringos'. wild how being racist to white people is just completely looked over. disrespectfully football was invented in the UK, British culture wearing football jerseys and t's has been a huge thing for decades & decades, it's a thing in brazil too but damn any chance a black girl can hate on white men they go for it. and damn bruh this don't even effect me, im fucking arab lmfao@@chisom.
if you use it for aesthetics then yeah, it's kinda dumb @@pandaninja9345
In México too
Yes i agree with some trends looking rlly weird IN PERSON and you feel like a fool wearing it in real life 😂
it’s the pastel pink shade for me. it looks so cute and i actually love the “coquette” aesthetic, but it doesn’t fit my style nor my skin complexion 🤷♀️
do you mind me asking what your skin colour is?
@@jadaakenzua208 I have an olive skin. My undertones are warm and I need strong, bright colors. Pastels aren’t for me, unfortunately. 🥲
Trends mentioned:
1 Office siren
2 Capri
3 Adidas Samba
4 Uggs
5 Powder blue/Soft blue
6 Butter yellow
7 Bayonetta glasses
8 Football tops/Blokette
Thank you !
Videos like this are so important to remind everyone to not get too caught up in every trend online, to find your own personal style and incorporate aspects of what’s trending that you see fit!
Edit: your glasses are literally the same as mine except mine are clear lol. I had bayonette glasses in middle school and oh… the horror😅
I usually use trends more as inspiration, to revive pieces in my closet that I haven't worn in a long time, or to sew or DIY something. It's almost like a challenge, to make your outfits look more "trendy" but without buying anything new or to adjust the trend to fit MY style and lifestyle better.
But of course I know how much pressure you can feel to stay on trend, especially when you're young and you look at all these peers posting these amazing outfits on tiktok.
Love that!
i love how you get straight to the point and u r not disrespetctful
love you more ❤️
i feel like that powder blue would fit you well tho
For me 2024 would be to not follow trends like always but to create my style which i'm already doing. It's great to be creative and trying new things but trends are just too much.
i love that everything you wear seems to have a place and is not just there for the heck of it, it takes a lot of presure off of jumping on the next trend you see when in reality they dont always work for everyone. idk if you already made this video, but i would love to see 2024 trends that you will be participating in and why they make sense for you !
exactlyyy like it's so hard to keep up with every little thing so take what you like and leave what you don't and ooo yess good idea 💕
i love how respectful she is in this video like she isnt judging the trends or people who like the trends she is just basing it off of her own personal style
tyyy ❤
I'm so envious of people who rock these pastel yellow or pastel blue shades because I love those and they look very soothing!! but I look down right horrible in pastels lol those are definitely not my colors
I love wearing sports shirts, especially from Brazilian football teams. As a brazilian person you see at least 1 person wearing one in the street. (Usually a teenage boy).
I loving wearing soccer jerseys with like jeans but I have always been wearing that, way before the trend started. I just want to support my team yk but at the same time now that people are making it into a trend, I’ve not worn it as much. Which I honestly find sad because I love them but still.
The thing about the football/soccer tops is that if I’m wearing a shirt with lettering or branding, I feel like I need to know or at least be able to stand by what it says. I have a few band shirts, exclusively for bands that I would feel comfortable calling myself a fan of. General rule for band shirts is don’t wear a band shirt unless you know the band. I think the same concept can be applied to tops with sports teams
i feel the same way
i cant believe i’m being that person but literally all of these trends have existed before and are just getting recycled ive seen images like the ones in the video floating around since 2020 like maybe even earlier
20 and 30-year cycles still going strong
That’s… just how trends work
girl what you said about blokette is so real😭 hated it since the first moment i learned about it
Honestly, newer generations get so caught up in keeping up with trends that its like no one has an individual personality and style anymore
I love a good platform shoe, you will also not see me in sambas or in the ballerina flat shoe trend. Also those glasses remind me of glasses I had when I was a child, you will not see me in that shape again
De-influencing is the word for the year! Yes girl! 🙌🏽❤️
Yes! Thank you!
Im passing on the maxi skirt trend. I would rather wear a pleated smirt or someing less "covered" then a maxi skirt
i definitely get this i love a short skirt
yess ive seen a few girls pull off maxi skirts irl and it's so so cute but im a short skirt girly
I LOVE maxi skirts. Mainly because i can bend over in them
no but the bayo glasses would look cute on you
aaa thank you ☺️
i see sambas EVERYWHERE and idk if im just being gasslighted or if i acctually like them
I love how no-nonsense you are. Great videos!
Glad you like them!
ooh def passing on the "butter yellow"/specific colors trend. I feel people dress yellow extremely well, but refuse to admit how much it washes them out which makes it look like a mess imo
i'm just so happy that i found your channel like your honest whit this trends like no one in a while did so keep it up
Agreeing so much with this video. I really love how your voice is so calming, you’re a really wise person ! ❤
i feel like sambas, uggs and blokette has been around for almost 2 years now
I love how you explained why you were passing on these trends without being insulting to the people that love them! Also i really agree about the shoes, shoe trends always go way too "universal" and you'll see absolutely everyone and their grandma wearing the same shoes for 2-3 years which ends up being boring
i feel affected by these trends like...
1. baby blue is so flattering on me/its my favorite color
2. i bought bayonetta glasses in 2021 and my boyfriend kept saying i looked like a librarian
3. from like 2020 to mid 2023 i literally wore only things that looked like blokette, like one of the 3 shirts i wore was my mom's school jersey from when she was a kid and a skort, but now i'm in my woman girl era
4. (the office siren is actually so fire)
3:55 i agree with the clothing part of it, but you would look so gorgeous with like powder blue eyeshadow omg
girl im on a spree with watching ur vids. loving it so far!!!
thank you for watching ily 🫶🏾
agree with all the trends you passed on, and your reasoning was like you were reading my mind! the only one i do participate in is the powder blue - but that's bc it was already in my wardrobe 🤣
I am russian, and sambas have a special place in my heart, they were very popular in 2015-2020, all the cool sporty boys were wearing them all the times (non Russian people sometimes call them gopnik (which is not the same!!!))
they were actually popular all around the Eastern Europe in this years, so seeing Western Europeans/ Americans making them popular again is kinda cute :)
ye i agree w all of em but i personally lovee pastel yellow. you're gorgeous💕
thank you 🩷
i agree on all of these ! lol please do this every year.
I love office siren but I tried it and it made me look soooo frumpy. I’m much more comfortable wearing more youthful styles.
i feel the same 😭
I loved the great sincerity you have had and how pleasant you have been without despising anyone who does use these styles and that you have justified all your no's. new subscriber, with you I will learn English. You are the queen 💖
Thank you so much!! thank you for watching ily 🫶🏾
I feel like the trend of wearing sports jerseys in fashion started with Tate McRae and her new album! It’s super cool seeing pop girlies creating trends again!
I love the bayonetta glasses. I never liked any glass shapes on me and this trend helped me find a shape I like.
you're so real for this!!
thanks bae🩷
As a sports loving girlie what feels "off" to me about blokette when I googled it is that it's this very hard boundary between masculine styled top and hyperfeminine bottoms, I dress pretty femmey for games and I usually will tuck in the jersey with a necklace and high shorts or wear a themed blouse etc for a more balanced team-based look. Dressing a whole outfit and not a paint by numbers thing
Or of course if your style is less feminine some stylish sneakers are a great pairing!
i love love love your videos i've been binging them all day
thank you queen 🩷 ur so real
omg chisom the animated introo is so cute and yes for more deinfluencing
thank you 😊 thank you for watching 🩷
I found this so amusing because I recently redisovered a photo from my National Honor Society induction from, like 2001, where I am wearing a powder blue tie-front cardigan, tan fitted capris, and a tanktop almost identical to the one you're wearing in this video. I can't believe the things that are trendy again, versus the things that aren't coming back.
fashion is so cyclical it's amazing
ive LOVEEDDD uggs since day one 😞😞 i cant let it goo
im so glad capris are on trend again cuz people wont think im a goof for wearing them
yes! i'm sure you'll rock them better than i ever could
2024? I feel like these are all 2023
We are currently in the worst period of fashion and no one can convince me otherwise
okay now we need a follow up video about 2024 trends you will NOT be passing on
coming soon!
off topic but your makeup looks so good omg
tyyy ❤
to me the idea of going out IRL all dressed up in the blokette aesthetic is just SO CRINGE. 😭😭😭😭
no frrr
your intro is sooo cute and nostalgic omg
tyyy ❤
So funny how you talked about bloquette and how it's not going to be received that well in real life, but in brazil there's a huge culture of football, sports etc, so it's makes a lot of sense wearing those pieces here, usually the fabrics of the football shirts are very light so its perfect for the hot weather of the country, a lot of friends already used to wear stuff like that before becoming a trend
Blue and yellow are my favorite colors, so I love to see it 💕
Yeah the sambas I’m passing on too. I have a pair of Cortez’s that I’ve had for years that give the same effect as them in an outfit anyway.
idk why i have such a bone to pick with blokette (i hate how it looks lol) other than i’m not fond of how the mainstream has been doing coquette aesthetics, but that’s just my inner gatekeeper (i’ve been into the coquette aesthetic and the subcultures for a while, to me it’s still lana del rey/lolita film inspired clothing so everyone just doing the ribbon thing and calling themselves coquette is mind boggling to me)
5:26 the way u think is exactly how i think too 😭
theres no way you only have 7.46k subscribers, your content is fire
we're almost at 10kkk 🫶🏾😭
omg those mary jane pumps you showed @2:12 soooo cute
need more of these kind of videos
i got you 🩷
Luvvvvv your intro
5:37 in argentina is so common sporty tshirts but used with comfy clothes
lol i used to get teased for wearing some of these like 5-10 years ago when it wasn’t cool especially the pastels when bright colours were in, navy mid rise capris which i still own and football/soccer jerseys of a team i have genuinely followed for 15 years. wearing vintage and secondhand wasn’t cool when i was a teen either so i got massively teased for it and now it’s great it’s in because of sustainability but it means the price, quality and ease of finding these pieces are much harder for me especially as a disabled girlie.
the sambas thing is actually so real
Going to watch this in a bit while I draw
I can’t get behind capris making a comeback 😂 it’s too much for me
You're gorgeous!
Thank you!
You can get any style of frames with any prescription online.
funniest thing is as a british person (especially in the music/ sport scheme) sambas and football tshirts have always been a part of the culture anyways so i find it quite funny that theyre all of a sudden deciding to trend like its just giving sticky pub floor to me as that was my childhood and what i knew. its also reminding me quite a bit of britpop with the fashion ideas, especially liam gallagher (heavy on the adidas/ football stuff) so having a crisis of people thinking im a trend hopper when in reality ive just always been around it lol
The coquette and bows trend is the ONLY good trend this year tbh. I’ve had a major coquette whisper girly phase 2 yrs ago, and it was so fun returning to it, especially since it was everywhere online.
agreed
i wear a soccer team top everytime they play a match to get myself in a mood for the game😭 this trend kinda gives wearing a band tee even if you’re not a fan of it
this is such a good analogy 😭
I love the simbas, I seen a boy at my school with them, and I’ve never seen anyone in person with them😭
i like what the blokette style is trying to do in concept, but honestly i think it just comes out very chaotic and clashing a lot of the time 😭 i love mixing feminine & masculine clothes by wearing super baggy pants and a cutesy little cropped top!! same general idea but much more me, i feel it’s more cohesive and pleasing to the eye, & i loveee the silhouette it creates
completely agree!!!
I love how you said you're not into pastels while wearing a pastel cami😅💓💓
😭😭 it's white i think it might look different on screen 😭😭💕
great video! i was wondering how u got your intro; i see many youtubers with the cute drawing style and i wonder how they get it
OMG, the capri trauma is real!!! XD thank you for this great video!!
Capris are cute as hell but as a someone who was a child in the 2000s and wore them alot in the summertime that tanline is egregious 😭
trends kill creativity a lot of the time. imo its better to pick pieces u like and build yourself- you can have basics and remix things to be trendy and unique
You are so PRETTY!!!!!!❤ ❤❤❤
thank youuu ily 🫶🏾 🩷
I used to wear soccer jerseys in the early 2000s it was a thing
Anyone else here wearing tropical 🏝️🌺 this summer ?😊 (Omg I'm glad she didn't mention tropical patterns 😂)
noo i don't want yall to to think you can't wear something bc i don't think it's for me wear whatever you like !!
gurl tht introo cuteeee
thank youuu
Idk i feel like the bayonetta glasses would look super cute on you!
i like wearing oversized jerseys idk why but pairing bows and stuff with it uhh idk
Girl you can have multiple prescription glasses! I mean if you can afford it, it’s nice cuz you can switch it up.
Ive always been wearing the Bayonetta glasses cause they fit my face shape plus i need to see and i have no idea why but now i don't want to wear them cause everyone else is
Growing up I had a lot of “capris” because I was tall and skinny aka my jeans never fit.
Love the Sambas.
I like capris but only the specific type that were worn in latin novelas during the y2k times 😅
i loved when you said you wouldn't wear pastel blue but you're literally in a baby blue dress
lol it's white, i think it was the lighting
I have a problem with all of these trends, especially because i have worn a lot of it before it became trendy. I played bayonetta a year ago and bought glasses similar to hers and jean's because I have to wear them to protect my eyes anyway. It didn't come as a surprise that they got so popular because they do look good but man I kinda wish this stuff would get gatekept more sometimes lmao
That's not to say that people shouldn't wear these things... It's just that the trends die down so SO fast while being so heavily promoted in the time they're trendy. That leads to overconsumption and struggling to find your own style.
