This channel is part of the International Association of Facial Growth Guidance. A nonprofit organisation which aims to raise awareness of alternative orthodontic methods and ideas, which too few people are informed of.
The main aim of the platform is to precipitate debate on why teeth are crooked. Most people are not aware that (in most cases) the dental profession has little or no idea why the teeth are crooked, or for that matter why children need major surgery. Clearly there are genetic issues, however the science is clear, the weight of quality research papers, in respected peer reviewed journals, show that our modern lifestyle is a more important factor and most importantly we can do something about this.
This is especially important as sleep apnoea, TMD, forward head posture and a most otolaryngology problems are implicated as other symptoms of the same underlying problem.

An interaction between Mike Mew and Bryan Johnson (the millionaire CEO that has spent millions trying to biologically de-age himself back to 18 years old) would be interesting. He and his team are very evidence/data based but open to anything and are very serious about body posture already. It would be interesting to see him incorporate Mewing and try to measure his progress in terms of sleep, athletic performance (breathing) and of course changes in bone structure.

I was born with two missing lower premolars, then got my upper two premolars removed at age 16 and my lower teeth moved back to remove the empty space.
I suffer from one sided tension pain in my jaw, face and head and I have a strong feeling it is related to my braces. I always feel like my tongue has no space, you can always see my teeth imprinted in my tongue. I wonder if there is anything I can do to fix this? Open up the space again?
Also I feel like it flattened my face :(

Dear Doctor, thank you so much for your help. I've been suffering from a posterior bite collapse after my uppeer wisdom teeth extractions at the age of 29 (I was in a compensated class 2 after an orthodontic treatment). Mewing and chewing have solved my sleep apnea, improved my bone mass and my profile.
However, my face has been keeping elongating and my bite is still a mess.
Still missing my posterior teeth as I am not in class 1 and I have holes instead.
What can be done for this ?

Orthotropics are so much safer than the plastic surgeries everyone is getting nowadays. And if you do it right, you get healthier! It's like the difference between steroids and resistance exercise.

I have a question regarding my teeth. My upper palate molars and premolars are on the inside of the lower palate molars and premolars. if i chew with those teeth? won't there be inward pressure on my jaws, thus keeping my upper teeth on the inside of the outer teeth? so what should i just do in this situation?

This works in children. Prove that it works in adults by taking x-rays or MRIs to show that the bones have moved. Otherwise people just look better because their mouths are closed rather than hanging open.

Hi Dr.Mew. I spoke to someone that works for your website because i needed advice on a specific problem and they said it costs 500 to get the advice/consultation, which i cant afford because i am disabled. This is what i asked them below , can you possibly give any little insight?
"I've been looking for help with a situation that i thought maybe mewing could help with. My dentist all of a sudden when i was 32 said that i have an impacted tooth and my wisdom tooth has to come out. I don't wanna do the procedure and through the last few years (i'm almost 35 now) she keeps telling me to get them out. She specifically says my wisdom tooth is leaning against the tooth in front of it. I never really feel any pain and i feel it would be unnecessary. They make it seem like "impacted" means it's cracking the tooth in front of it, but from my understanding it just means the leaning tooth could lead to pockets that can't be cleaned well, leading to a possible infection etc etc but if you're like me and on the "natural treatment" side of things, you already know the real/best ways to truly clean your mouth etc to the point of even reversing cavities, so many normal things like cavities and infections just don't happen to you. So i don't think i need it.
My question is can mewing create more space even at my age to fix this problem, and 2nd if it can't and i don't do the procedure what will happen in your opinion?? 3rd Should i do it? "
If you could answer any of these that would be really appreciated!
