I rlly wanted these people to come out of this winning. I've never rooted for a restaurant team more from this show - they're so humble and willing to change, and in such a bad spot. They lasted 3 years after this which is great, but ultimately closed. I guess there was too much debt
The fine dining restaurant I work at is a family owned buisness with the son bing head chef some cousins being cooks and others bring waiters and it's really chill

As a chef something that upsets me is when a cook is making frozen food, Gordon sends it back and they get mad as if he’s insulting their cooking. Like _my brother in christ_ he’s not complaining that your cooking sucks, because you didn’t cook anything! You dropped a basket of calamari into the deep fryer and then put it on top of a salad! That’s not cooking! That’s deep frying frozen food, and of course a seasoned chef isn’t going to like the taste of frozen food that’s the _whole point_
He is. It is also amazing how when a professional knows what he is doing.....just knows what he is doing! Always amazing to see talented people in their spear.
Honestly, if people know they are going into a restaurant for kitchen nightmares because of Ramsay why be mad when they know it’s not gonna be that good?
After watching this show for nearly 7 years, I've come to a realization that "Word has spread about Chef Ramsey's presents at the restaurant, meaning more customers than usual" means people just see a reason to go to this restaurant and act like a bunch of food critics just for the cameras, anybody else think this? I feel like if the cameras weren't there, people wouldn't say anything 🙃
It's a known fact that when they filmed these, that they put up signs outside to complain about things youd normally keep quiet about. Most people have complaints but wont voice them or come back.
i mean it is still a tv show, but most customers are too polite to send something back. So i believe the reaction of some owners when they see the plates coming back is genuine
Naomi: employees are family Dom: everytime i fucking open my mouth, everyone *shrucks their shoulders. Running around pissed off. Chickens with no head!
This is the restaurant that deserves to have this show and its the first time I think that I saw chef ramsay genuinely helping the owners and the crew. It's like the best model hopeless restaurant for this show that is ever simply transformed. 👍

I've had it a few times where a waiter has come to serve us straight after their smoke break and the stench literally killed my appetite everytime. Smokers don't realise it but they smell horrible and the patrons notice it for sure. Ruining more than just their lungs!
I used to be a smoker and I would always wash my hands and chew gum when entering a building after smoking. I would also tuck my hair in to my jacket while smoking to minimize the smell because I never wanted people to be uncomfortable around me.
This is the nicest team of people and crew I had seen yet , very humble, easy to deal with, really like a family, the best episode I had seen so far. I'm glad Gordon helped them, and I hope they keep going on successfully.
Ive watched loads of Kitchen Nightmares and this is the one I’ve enjoyed the most. No drama, honesty. I do like some of the drama in some episodes so Gordon can put them in there place. But personally its more enjoyable with no drama 😂
I understand the enjoyment (or addiction) behind smoking but the worst time to smell like tobacco smoke is when you're greeting and serving diners their food.
I'm not disagreeing or debating (I have no sense of smell so hard to make a defense) but I've worked in enough restaurants to know that a lot of waiters and chefs would not be able to keep doing what they do if they stopped smoking.
This was one of the best episodes of KN US. The owners didn't fight Ramsay & they listened. They're not stubborn or arrogant, they're just lost. I heard they're closed now, but I hope they're alright & still surviving this crazy situation.
And I know what she meant when it’s made outside the restaurant. I ordered some food delivery from the local Applebee’s here and I craved macaroni and cheese so I ordered the kids, macaroni and cheese. Well, of course, it was the same kind of macaroni which I had expected, but it was still in some kind of a microwavable pouch, that they actually forgot to take off and just send it out that way. 😂😂😂😂
Ive rewatched Kitchen Nightmares so many times that I am now reaching the point of i can identify which restaurant is in the video simply looking at the food in the thumbnail.

When he's angry and screaming, you know he cares and tries to help. When he gets calm and quiet, you know he's given up on the place.

The restaurant closed in 2013 because they went bankrupt
@Jana Loai LMAO and I already liked your first comment cause I also thought that... only to find out 😭, but at least its not that toxic blaming. You can tell they respect each other

*Dom just Yeet the coffee*
That explains it, someone needed a hug in the restaurant!
This was probably the most wholesome episode of KN. I was genuinely happy to see them succeed in the end.
I’m proud of the owners though. They were willing to change, were never rude to Ramsey and really stepped up.
thats true
You gotta admit that even though Dom is rude as the manager but he at least knew the problem which are the owners for being too incompotence. That man is just brutally honest.
And Dom was willing to admit his lack of knowledge in the restaurant business so fast. Gotta admire that honesty.
Love the fact that both the owners and the employees are well aware of their shortcomings. Unlike other delusionals, they were genuinely nice and well-behaved.
I rlly wanted these people to come out of this winning. I've never rooted for a restaurant team more from this show - they're so humble and willing to change, and in such a bad spot. They lasted 3 years after this which is great, but ultimately closed. I guess there was too much debt

Damn that sucks
The fact they still lasted 3 years after this is amazing, considering most places close after a few months

This episode has one of the best endings ever. The staff were determined to change. Gordon's "50 seats, 13 menus" at the end had me dyinG😭
9:29 I think this is the most reasonable sentence I've heard in the series from any of the employees about the food. Of couse you can like the food, but sometimes it does not tell shit about the food and more about your standards. And if you say it as customer, go ahead, you're not hurting anyone, but as owner and chef, you should aim higher than what you yourself would find acceptable.
Can we all just appreciate the fact that how Gordon changes people's lives? Like he's known for being angry and insulting people but no one talks about the fact that he changes people's lives as well as brings the best out of them,he literally spends thousands of dollars to get these people new decor and stuff for them, and the way he saved this family's restaurant is a miracle!
21% of the restaurants he visits in this series still close tho and some even blame gordon from their closing and some even sue him
@@axlr8deathpls294 That just comes down to owners being impossible to help, reverting to old ways, and wondering why nothing changes while continuously shooting themselves in the foot. I'd say 70%-80% success rate is more than expected even.
@@axlr8deathpls294 Are you sure _only_ 21 percent close _after_ ? That's way better than I thought. That's a pretty fantastic batting average, considering how far down the gutter most restaurants are, and how much people won't change.
Sue Gordon? Yeah right. Like for what? Makeover, new menu. Idiots who failed clearly did not "Yes, Chef."
@@CarolineWolterHall WAIT thats wrong I meant 21% dont close so like 79% of the restaurants he visits still closes but still most of the changes he has are positives but the owners are just too stuck in the dirt to be saved or its just too late
@@tech8732 Actually I misremembered lol, a quick google search will show that 21% is the success rate of gordon meaning 21% of the restaurants stay open but yeah it isnt gordon's fault at all most of the time like in Sebastian's when the owner reverted to the old shitty menu after gordon left or at lela's where lela's debt was too high so yeah its not really gordon's fault most of the time
you know what needs seasoning? the titles on fridays and saturdays like on wednesday!!
It's honestly admirable how amazing of a person Gordon Ramsay is. He really cares and wants the best for everyone; Such a great guy.

I also liked the "mate, you got issues".
True
Somewhere between all and none of them, who knows what the production crew got up to
It's a known fact that when they filmed these, that they put up signs outside to complain about things youd normally keep quiet about. Most people have complaints but wont voice them or come back.
I don't buy that. You see in every service they get plate after plate returned. The more filled the resteraunt, the more plates returned
i mean it is still a tv show, but most customers are too polite to send something back. So i believe the reaction of some owners when they see the plates coming back is genuine

Dominic ...first impression - hideous. Second - wait a sec. Final - I like that guy.
I thought he's gonna be the "bad guy" on this episode because of his face that looks punchable but turns out he's the only person who has brain in that restaurant. He's also caring to his girlfriend as he yeeted his coffee just to hug her in parking lot and even know that he has no right to feel defensive of the food because it's out of his element by saying: "Personally, I like the food but what the fuck do I know."
And he's mad because of good reasons because of his girlfriend is incompetence along with the staff and Chef Ramsay isn't even chasing him because he's right. And he comes back to dinner service later.
The chef is also a decent person and when Chef Ramsay said "The Bomb Burger is gone", you can see he's devastated at first but he quickly accepted it instead of wasting the time argue about it.
The only problems that they have are the budgeting, limited plates and menus and the incompetence of the owners.
