    UPDATES:
In the weeks after filming, Keith and Lisa did not commit to managing the restaurant and they separated.
Cafe Tavolini closed in December 2010.
A For Sale sign appeared in the windows shortly after, although this was said to not effect the restaurant as it was rented.
Keith was hoping to reopen the restaurant in March 2011 but this never happened.
Some of the staff including Chef Michael Sirico are now working in B Line Bar & Grill in Black Rock.

What Happened Next at Cafe Tavolini?
In the weeks after filming, Keith and Lisa did not commit to managing the restaurant and they separated.Yelp reviews were oddly non-existent for the restaurant. Cafe Tavolini closed in December 2010.
They closed just a few weeks after filming, their answerphone said they were closing for "medical reasons". A For Sale sign appeared in the windows shortly after, although this was said to not effect the restaurant as it was rented. Many customers were disappointed as they had purchased gift certificates and a complaint was made to the Attorney General.
Weeks before the closure, Keith told the press he was struggling to pay rent, vendors. It was discovered that he had debts including tax owed to the city.
Keith was hoping to reopen the restaurant in March 2011 but this never happened. Some of the staff including Chef Michael Sirico are now working in B Line Bar & Grill in Black Rock.
Cafe Tavolini aired on March 25 2011, the episode was filmed in December 2010 and is Kitchen Nightmares season 4 episode 7.

Seriously, all of the staff worked surprisingly well together -- you could tell they were trying their hardest, they just had to deal with some serious incompetence in management. All the staff were so professional, and were all on the same page of what exactly the problem was, they all gave the same, consistent response: owners were the problem.
The cooks didn't even get defensive about the food when Gordon didn't like it (as is often the case with the chefs) -- they took the criticism, already knew it was subpar, and were eager to change it. Up until then, they had been doing what they were told, by the incompetent owners.
The kids were mature and prepared to fix things, the whole staff was. Really sad that the key components were the problem, because the rest of the restaurant had such a good vibe with each other otherwise.

I can't understand how or why restaurants ends up like this. I worked in a pizzaria when I was 14-15, and it was the best work experience I've ever had. It was organized in an effective and logical way, and pizzas flew out. I grated cheese, cut mushrooms/beef/anything, then did cleanup and dishes during service. Loved that, even if boring, because the owner was a class act who set the mood in a positive spirit. When someone ordered anything but pizza (3-4 times a week) the chef and owner lit up and made it with tons of love and passion. Sometimes they sang and danced around while cooking, haha. It was unbelievable delicious food. I usually got a surprise pizza, surprise soda, or surprise extra cash. Kinda big when you're 14!
They later expanded the business to about 20 tables and focused more on italian dishes, and it's a raging success. So how tf anyone think a restaurant can be managed by screaming and yelling is besides me.

Simple: People with money drive by a closed restaurant and see a for sale sign, buy it, with no expierence or knowledge about restaurants. Or parents buy them for their spoilt brats (as seen before as well), while the spoilt brats don´t have any expierence either. There are some industries were people think "oh, its so easy to own this and you basically earn money without doing any work (bc staff) - and they are relatively easy to open - speaking from what I learned in my year living in the US, and this show (which of course are limited views) - every idiot is allowed to open a restaurant. In my country to be able to open a restaurant you need a license, which you only get if you did a three-year apprenticeship, (which involves working full time and some basic schooling) or you attendend a high school focused on tourism and such and internships as work expierence - which is also not a lot, but still better.

Here’s the Google status of the restaurant 10 September 2021:
Cafe Tavolini has a very sad ending. Keith and Lisa separated soon after filming and the restaurant really had no chance. The restaurant closed for good in December, 2011.
It seems the main reason for the closure is that Cafe Tavolini’s debt bill had just grown too large. With such a large debt to start with, I don’t think Gordon really had any chance with this restaurant.
Some of the staff, notably Chef Michael Sirico, have moved on to B Line Bar & Grill.

this show actually opened up my eye on food business since my parents owns a restaurant (low to mid class, not the likes of which is shown in KN). Many of the advice he give is actually pretty solid based on the performance of our store.
      1. Owner must always be there to monitor the staff(since my mother is sick, the performance of our restaurant has a noticeable dent due to staff problem, rectified by promoting my sisters in law(she was already working on the place, but as a cashier) to replaced my mom. Everything she sees there is reported back to my mother and she become my mouther's right hand man.)
      2. Taking care of the restaurant cleanliness has both physical and mentally benefits(it shows you actually care about the damn place and makes you feel proud to work there. Not to mention the hygiene.)
      3. Always cook fresh food with fresh ingredient.(Ngl however, that this practice nearly drove us to bankruptcy when Covid-19 hits. Its simply hard to keep fresh food in when the price of the goods began skyrocketing and our reg. customers were no longer coming. Thankfully we managed to hold on long enough until the situation recovered.)
