It's kind of refreshing. I hate when its 40min of the guest hamming up the reaction and not answering the question. The entertaining part of the show is them being forced to be real with their answers because the spice is distracting.

Never seen a less enlightening or shorter interview on Hot Ones.
I still loved it, but it really was strange.
Yeah, I think Shane is just not a story-teller. Many guests go on long tangents and have fun stories related to the questions. Shane was just a brick-wall or single word answers -- it really kills the flow of a conversation.
The questions were really weak.
Shane said almost nothing interesting.
Shane is like mentioned a pod cast animal. When you are used to taking time for a subject, I guess it is hard to adapt to the short clickbaitsoundbite format like in MSM or this show. Enjoyable episode though..
Shane in real life is even more kind than you would expect.

This is arguably the most subdued I've ever seen Shane Gillis.
I've noticed from other videos he seems pretty reserved around people who aren't his close friends or other comedians.

Shane subdued and nervous/uncomfortable is almost just as funny because you can see him in real time analyzing whether he should say what he would normally say and it’s hilarious filling in the blanks in your head if you know his material well
People really underestimate how shy Shane is around people he doesn't know

I hope he comes back, I'd never heard of him before but it would be cool if he came back again feeling more comfortable cause I think he'd have some cool conversations with Sean
You can tell he runs thing through his mind and makes the conscious choice not to say it, and he does that a lot.
