I would pay to have it fly over my house every day just to hear that DB engine.
***** The DB605 engine is just so utterly fantastic. The low bassy rumble with the whistle of the supercharger gives me goosebumps.
before the EADS Messerscmitt Stiftung bought it i flew over my house nearly every day. I miss this plane. Im happy to hear that it's flying again.
Dora fans here~ Jumo engine FTW
jjdiy The Dora is the greatest prop fighter of all time, but the DB engine is just the nicest sounding...the Jumo doesn't have the low end rumble.
yes you are right. i have just compared those 2 sounds. DB sounds really nice with the bass rumble
Love this airplane! As so many say, the sound of this sweet engine and the roar of the supercharger is just unbelievable!
+Jan Erik Bakstad Agree and the climb rate was beast for its time
I´m glad they had it repaired. It truly is a magnificent piece of aviation history.
That fly by sound is beautiful.
My uncle died in a BF 109. This is why this type of aircraft has allways fascinated me.
Летающая легенда! Жаль наших яков - оригинальных летабельных не осталось, только реплики. Авторам Уважение и привет из России!
i was there at Roskilde air show in 2015, it was an absolutely amazing experience to see this old war relic fly :D
The SOUND AWW i love it!!!
Love the external sound as the aircraft does those diving passes, keep posting more please.
I have flyed plane in video games but this guy man i wish i was him...
Vielen Dank für die Mühe und Anstrenungen, die ihr in den Flieger gesteckt habt, damit er wieder abheben konnte und überhaupt danke für die Erhaltung dieser tollen Maschine(n)! =)
Ganz bestimmt!
Awesome, just awesome! Thank you so much for these videos:)
Beautiful !! ONE LEGEND !!!
Awesome footage of the automatic leading edge slats in action!!
Ich hab das Video schon so oft gesehen......ich bekomme immer wieder Gänsehaut.....der Sound des DB ist einfach toll. Hoffentlich fliegt sie noch lange und unfallfrei!!!
Thank you for the ride.
Awesome work!
what a gorgeous looking plane.
.
GRRRRREAT video!!! Need to learn to fly soon....very soon.
Neal Armstrong had his pilot license before his drivers license.
Up, up, and away.....
Many thanks for a great video. Interesting to see the amount of aileron use during the take-off run and the using of elevator trim.I too was surprised to see how narrow the cockpit width is.One of the best fighter aircraft designs.
Great video! Nice view of the automatic leading edge slats in operation. The tight confines of the 109 cockpit is readily apparent, as is the limited field of view, through the heavily framed canopy. Visual tracking of EA in combat must have been challenging. Despite these and other shortcomings, the 109 was still an extremely successful combat aircraft in the hands of a competent pilot, and the favorite mount of many Luftwaffe aces...Hartmann, Barkhorn, Galland, and Rall, to name a few..
You forget the ace of all aces --> "Hans-Joachim Marseille"! By far the most talented of them all, lived to see only 23 years of age, by then having shot down 158 planes in the Western theatre! Died in 1942 bailing out of his 109 G2 Trop after an engine failure/fire.
Epic footage. Thank you!
Oh mein Gott, bitte gebt uns mehr davon ;)))
Thank you for posting!
May have been the nemesis of our Spitfire and Hurricane but the DB engine on the Messerschmitt is a true feat of engineering. It definitely ears its place in history as one of Germany's greatest creations!
This is the dream of my life :,)
My dream is called always Me 262.....
What an awesome flight and machine. I'm wore out just watching the video. Thanks so much.
Sehr schönes Video, vielen Dank 😊👍
So good to see that beast back up and running!
GREAT VIDEO - ALL THE BEST !!!
My favorite bird in history, most beautiful thing I’ve seen.
If I had the chance of owning a spitfire or this 109 I would take the latter ) And i'm from a RAF family
Don’t tell them that 😂
Herzlichen Glückwunsch dem Piloten für so eine fantastische Erfahrung.
Sie fliegt wieder,top :-)
Most spectacular plane ever made in my opinion.
amazing thanks for the video.
FANTASTIC!!!
Great video of a great machine.
So ein Flugzeug! Ganz super!
Awesome !!! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Slats out "on the numbers" @ 5:24! LOVED it!
amazing i like this plane!!
WAUW! Fantastic vid! Thanks for sharing, appreciate it a lot!
Greets from the Netherlands 🌷, T.
Fliegen wieder.
Zum glück.
Vielen Dank.
Nice job!!!
Fabulous! What is the pilot pumping with his left hand?
Wow, what an amazing speed at 4:25 !
German guy wearing Sennheiser headphones casually flying around in a legendary plane his grandparents made. that's fuckin cool
Wow, I like it !!!
Nice maschine !!!!
AWESOME JUST TOTALLY AWESOME!!
I can't understad what emotion gives this driving....
gawd yes indeed that is such an Awsome Sound!
So cool.
Cracks me up how those things sound compared to what we have today.
Great video! Thank you for posting this spectacular insight. Please keep them coming. Hint: new GoPro Hero 4 available now, lol... Maybe (if possible) you can even show the workload for the pilot from front/above??
Awesome video, I love it!!! I saw that most of maneuvers were flown around 300kph (350 in dives). I wonder, what is the directional stability in pitch/yaw/roll (what controll adjustments need to be done) when flying at takeoff speeds, 250kph and 300kph? Is the plane wild thing at these speeds or is it rather stable airplane?
einer meiner Lieblings Flugzeuge
Schön!
One of my favs.
Right on!!
i love the sound at 3.10!
You bet! That rocks!
Gran vuelo.
Great!
Richtig gut...
Truly sehr gut und richtig !!
Great.
I would be very grateful if someone can answer following questions:
Were the flight procedures altered regarding inverted flight after that bally landing in Denmark?
Are those flight procedures to be followed world wide?
Will we never see again an ME-109 doing barrel rolls or any manouever like that?
Excelente...
Unique!, what´s he pumping at 6:25?
for me there is no plane in the world more beautiful than a 109
Is that the trim tab he was moving below the throttle?
Any chance ye have a video start explains how to start the engine up?
Cheers ;)
Gänsehaut.
Cool
Ich liebe Luftwafee Flugzeuge.
That's cool
Adolph Galland was a quite successful fighter pilot. I got to read (a translation of) his autobiography, some years ago. He said that 109 pilots loved them, right from the start. But each model had some weakness or problem. New model, they'd fix the existing problem(s) but a new one would show up. The 'G' model, 'Gustav', was loved more than any other, because late in the war, when things were going rather badly, and the 109 was a very old fighter, they finally made one right. It just did exactly what it was supposed to do. All the problems had been fixed and no new ones added.
Which one are you talking about? I read the changes they incorporated into the K made it heavier and less maneuverable.
***** Yes, Hurricanes did most of the work. We haven't forgotten. But Hurricanes could shoot down bombers just fine, but they were a little out of their league against 109s. That's what you needed Spitfires for.
Both the Spit & the 109 could bite you if you asked for a bit more than the machine could give. Neither was quite what you'd call user-friendly, but the spit was probably a trifle better.
***** A simulator can do many things, but it's not the same as reality. Yes, we use them now in training. We did that before we had computers. Look up a Linke Trainer. But they are training tools, no more than that. We train astronauts under water, because that's the best way we can simulate the experience. But you won't hear a pilot say a simulator is the same as a plane, or an astronaut tell you being in the big pool is exactly like doing a spacewalk. A centrifuge can also put you in high G - yes. But is that exactly like doing a hard turn in a jet? Yes and no. In some ways it is.
***** I do not doubt the realism of IL-2 1946. Real life pilots are involved in the development of that game. In fact, many of the people that play it are real life pilots themselves. And now with virtual reality headsets in the horizon, flying sims can only get more realistic.
***** Flight simulators can help a pilot learn some of the skills needed to fly, but it has to be a real flight simulator which IL2 is not.
Holy shit! Freaking awesome!!!!!
Könntet ihr unten nicht wieder die "alte" Rundumleuchte dran machen? Also eine die sich dreht und nicht die die an und aus blinkt das stört ein bisschen das Gesamtbild von diesem grandiosem Flugzeug
The best planes in the world , all messerschmitts Bf-109
yes yes yes !
Wow! You can see the torque pull the nose down fast and to the left, while he effectively countered it, it sure seemed very strong, as the tail came up during takeoff.
it also looked like he was pumping in left aileron during his takeoff role. in il2 game you have to use a little right aileron to counter left role on takeoff. what's going on?
Amazing. Would you mind to explain how do you control the slats? Thank you.
***** They extend automaticly and smoothly depending on the airflow speed passing over them... when the pressure of the air overcomes the pressure of the spring behind them, they slowly retract. It can cause problems when the change in airflow speed/pressure occurs rapidly however.
Excelente. Mi avión preferido de la segunda guerra mundial.
Very nice flying! Could you please explain a bit about the CoG and the trimming of this magnific aircraft, in terms of different airspeeds, take off, cruising, diving etc. Thanks a lot!
+amazingme2010 English translations of the pilot manuals are online with a little searching. www.virtualpilots.fi/hist/pdf/bf109g2_english.zip
Welcome back the Legend!
Is it possible to place a cameraman in a gas balloon at 6 km altitude and show some acrobatics of G4 at that altitude? G4/G2 performs best at that altitude.
Well, that is one lucky pilot! It would be cool to have something like a "Video flight manual" in which all the procedures and control positions on startup, take off, landing etc. would be explained along with crosswind limits and so on.
109lair.hobbyvista.com/techref/manuals/manuals.htm
Randy R I have some of those already, but I see that they uploaded new ones, will check it out definitely. Thanks.
no problem
its awesome that several 109s are restored and flying but they are still unstable due to narrow undercarriage
Awsum
@FLUGMUSEUM MESSERSCHMITT: please, just a question: I m 1 meter 82 cm long and when I sat into the cockpit of the BF-109 G-2 , I could not close the cockpit because I was just little too long , how this pilot could "fit" easy into that cockpit ? could you trim/regulate the high of that seat ? please tell me. Greetings from Sweden.
Am I right in saying that this engine they installed is a SAAB/NOHAB flygmotorfabrik AB 605 engine?
This video is so well done it makes me feel like I could fly this plane with just a few hours of flight training. And I can't help but wonder what the top speed is on this plane. It seems to move pretty well.
never forget the frenzied masturbation that is part of the landing taxi process....
@@TheWolfsnack What the hell's he doing? Trimming the aircraft?
@@NuGanjaTron The throttle is on the left side and the elevator trim wheel is also down on the left too. So yes, he probably is adjusting the elevator trim.
I want to ask the pilot if the bf109 cruises balanced at zero stabilizer trim
Please make a video with a go-pro in the helmet. It would be awesome if we could have the feeling we are inside the Bf-106.
What a rocket ! The ailerons atleast at those modest speeds are very crisp, turns like crazy, wonder what the weight is, theoretically it shouldn't be to far from the original because of weigt distribution (2900 kg ?).
Do they ever talk to Mr. Bau, the pilot? Would love to hear his thoughts on the plane.
You should look for "Wings of the Luftwaffe" by Eric Brown. He flew almost every WW2 fighter made and has lots of comments on the "Gustav".
I spoke to a man that flew a 109. He said that it’s loud and very hard to handle, especially when landing.
Wow....
前縁フラップもちゃんと動いてるのが見える面白い動画。
Kommt ihr wieder auf die Hahnweide 2015 ?
Ace Volker Bau.
Didn't they have headrests in the seats back then? Also I'm surprised about the poor visibility to the front, how did they manage to aim at the enemy?
