Easy Crochet Pyramid Bag ~ Revised Video!

- This tutorial is actually a revised version of one of my very first RUclips videos. My inexperience made the video unnecessarily long. I have since vastly improved my RUclips videos, so I thought this adorable boho bag needed a good clean up. I hope you enjoy the changes!
The construction of this bag is much easier than it looks, with very little sewing and NO lining! It is worked in the continuous round, making it a very quick and seamless project. If you like to make boho bags, this bag is perfect for the boho chic style. It can also be easily made into a fancy purse with just a few adjustments (see my Instagram account @dayscrochetnc to see the different styles of this bag that I have made thus far). Because it requires very little sewing and no lining is necessary, this adorable bag is perfect for vendor market prep! I have sold every single one of these that I have made very quickly because they are so unique and fun!
For an ad-free printable pdf of this pattern, you can purchase it for relatively little cost in both my Etsy and Ravelry shops at linktr.ee/days...

Supplies Needed:
-150-200 yds of Bernat Home Maker Dec yarn (good yarn subs would be Lion Brand Rewind Tape or double strands of any size 4 worsted weight acrylic or cotton yarn held together. You want your piece to have a sturdy fabric so it holds its shape)
-Size J 6.0 mm and size I 5.5 mm hooks
-7" zipper
-Matching thread and sewing needle
-40 mm wooden ring
-Wooden beads, 2 25 mm, 2 15 mm, 1-2 8 mm (NOTE: make sure your larger beads have large central holes for the leather strands to go through. I have had the most luck with beads sold in the smaller bags from Hobby Lobby)
-2 pieces of leather strands, 38-40" for wrist strap and 34" for beaded embellishment (NOTE: I am using pieces of leather from an assortment bag I purchased from Hobby Lobby)
-Stitch markers, yarn needle, scissors, and tape measure
Gauge:
13 sc and 14 rows = 4" (10 cm) using the larger hook and recommended yarn.
Finished Measurements:
Prior to sewing the zipper in, the piece should measure 7" x 7" (18 x 18 cm)

My daughter made me one from cloth. I'm paying her back with this crocheted one. I'm excited to work on it. Subscribed. You have lots of other things I'd love to make. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you for subscribing!
This is adorable! Thank you for explaining and showing how to add a zipper. This is one of the best tutorials I’ve seen how to do this.😊
Thank you! ❤️
So cute! I've never sewed a zipper in anything, so this is a good tutorial. I love that your patterns have video tutorials. I've started only buying patterns that have videos. I'll be purchasing more from you!
Thank you so much for your kind compliment and for investing in my patterns! ❤️❤️❤️
Saw this bag in the Spring '22 Crochet World which referenced your RUclips channel.
I am a visual learner and understand much better than when I read the instructions.
I have subscribed and look forward to future tutorials.
Thank you!
C'est vraiment un beau sac merci beaucoup ❤❤
A M E I. Já tenho a redonda, a quadrada, tudo o que eu queria era uma triangular e acabei achando a pirâmide da minha vida. Thank you
I am crazy about this dense stitch you used! I have seen the waistcoat stitch, but this is prettier. I decided to turn the tube inside out and then sew closed the first edge. Then turn it right side out to sew the zipper in. I kinda like that look better and it seems to hold its shape nicely.
Thank you! I’m so glad you like it❤️
I love this bag. Thanks so much for sharing your lovely ideas.
How amazingly beautiful 😍, you are a wonderful tutor and would love to make this pyramid bag for my granddaughters 💕
Hopefully I am able to find this particular yarn in London 😜
Thanks ☺️👍👍👌💐❤️🙏🏻
Thank you! I don’t know if you’ll have much luck with this yarn. We can barely find it here😩 are you familiar with Hobbii yarns? I believe they have some yarn very very similar. You could also sub in double strands of worsted weight (regular acrylic) yarn. You just want a very sturdy crochet fabric so the bag hold its shape.
@@DaysCrochet thanks so much, I shall try that and you have a fabulous day 👍👍😍🙏🏻
Is there a structural reason to close the bottom before finishing the top and sewing in the zipper? It seems like it would be easier to sew the zipper with the bottom open, but I could be missing something.
I definitely plan to make this once I find an appropriate zipper. I'm on a use-what-I-have spree, so trying to avoid buying new supplies 💜
I don’t think so. Do it however you like☺️
What is this stitch called that u made the bag with😍😍Love it!!!
I honestly don't know lol 😂 it's similar to the Linen Stitch, but you usually make your sc in the ch-1 spaces with the Linen Stitch, and I'm having you do a spike stitch down into the sc below the ch-1 space. I am sorry I don't have an answer 🫣
Nice bag Good work ,can I make it with wool or TShirt yarn ? Thanks
If I had to choose between wool or the t-shirt yarn, I would go with the t-shirt yarn. Just follow the concept making the tube 7 x 7” (18 x 18 cm) so your zipper still fits. You want it to be a sturdy crochet fabric so it holds the pyramid shape
Your patterns are all so cute! Will be making this soon!
@@jenelleaguero754 thank you! ❤️
Stitches used created a lovely fabric. Just love this bag. Your tutorials is very great.
Would love if you can give a tutorial for summer tops and some sandals😁 what you think? Some ideas for you💗
@@karinvanrooyen8725 thank you! I’ve not really been brave enough to try designing clothing or shoes yet. I’m not sure I ever will. There are SO many sizes to consider and include in patterns. I don’t think I’ve got the patience for it😬
Would cotton yarn be acceptable for this bag?
You could try it, but I would probably double the yarn. You want it to be stiff so it can hold its shape
What yarn is comparable to Bernat Home maker? I can’t find the color I’m looking for 😩
Have you tried look on Annie’s website?
