Ibanez RG barritone. It's an affordable and quality guitar with a neck through body construction. It's a baritone guitar with a 28" scale that is made for low tunings without having to have a special setup.
Really enjoying my black Yamaha Revstar RSS20 (which I actually really like the aestitics of for doom to, like a mix of an SG and an ES or something) and my LTD EC1000T CTM (full thickness 22 fret, custom-style "black beauty" with Evertune).
My main metal guitar is a early 2000s Gibson SG Deluxe with a sweet translucent grey finish, Dunable Grizzly humbucker in the bridge and GHS Boomer strings.
I play a Gretsch G5230T JET Electromatic with the Filtertrons Pick ups. I guess it´s not a very Doom/Stoner guitar, but I like the look of it so much, plus it sounds beautiful clean and distorted, I think, it also sounds nice...
Got a PRS copy kit guitar I built a couple years back, loaded with EMG 57/66TWs and it rips. usually keep it in B standard for Type O Neg and was the guitar I learn EWs Funeralopolis on lol Actives fuzz up pretty nicely in my experience, especially once you get down to around B or lower
@@FuzzlordEffects ruclips.net/video/vXez3acDUY8/видео.html Doom tuba of the band Eight Foot Manchild, doom-brass band out of Boston area. Not sure if they incorporate a doom bassoon, they sure ought to!
For Doom Metal I would say your choice of pedal and amp has a greater effect than what guitar. But for looks I’d say a white SG to match a players long white hair and beard (also standard Doom regalia)
Tele for solid construction and longer scale, as others have said. I like my SG for its comfort factor. Running these with the DroneMaster has never made me happier. Excellent showcase! Love your aluminum guitars and the Dunable! Cheers!!
It's really whatever works for you, but I get it. With these low tunings and larger strings not all guitar can handle that. The Dunable gets my vote. Any of them really from that outfit I want. Great video! Your pedals are sounding great .
Imo anything with strings can doom, as long as you have volume and gain you can make something doom out. Hell even just gain. Also my left ear enjoyed this video a lot.
My personal favorite doom stick is a 150 dollar epi sg and keep in my mind I own monson vintage Les Pauls and custom shop bc rich guitars amongst others my point is to somewhat quote top gun it’s about the player not the guitar
I have 3 PRS Doom sticks that can Doom with any Gibson Les Paul and SG. The PRS Custom24, Custom24 7 string, and the Tremonti. All are SE models. The stock pickups in the 7 sting and Tremonti are dark for Doom. I put Seymour Duncans in the Custom24. Good video as usual, Jason.
Nice guitar choice. I really like the Greco's, Tokai & Burny's too. Here, I'm playing either my old early 90s Gibson Les Paul Special, in Wine Red. Or a new Guild Polara Deluxe (Canyon Dusk) or Baum Wingman (Forest Green, P90-ish). Through a boost pedal, TC Magus Pro Rat/Turbo/Fat Rat clone and EHX Green Russian Muff into Marshall JTM & twin Vox AC30 Wet/Dry/Wet rig.
not having the means to have gibsons I have for the les paul side a ltd ec with emg lfdmf which do the job and an sg made by me with lollar db and a telecaster with a lollar matt pike and my next project either a dunable or a gibson rd
I’ve been playing a tele in my band (skull servant) recently and it’s been a fucking blast. I highly recommend trying it, the longer scale length helps for downtuning
Just hope you don't mind being completely fucked over if your Dunable has any issues. Took six months for Sacha to bother with warrantying a faulty part out of the box.
I only have modern super strat type guitars, Ibanez and LTD, But they play well for me, and I can do doom/sludge/stoner with them just fine, Ultimately it's all preference, and whatever one can afford. But thankfully we live in a day and age where you can make amazing sounds for any genre, including doom, for not alot of money at all. In this chaotic audio realm, rules are made to be broken.
I would imagine a bass wood guitar would be the way to go. Alder and ash are too bright for doom. Wonder what an all rosewood guitar would sound like. But as stated once you run it through an audio interface you can make it sound like anything. Which one do you use and do you record on Cakewalk? Maybe you can engineer one for /like your pedals/computer for sale in a cool box.❤
What sort of doom are we talking bro? Also, you have a bassist to carry the bottom. My poplar bodied baritone dooms plenty through a peavey bandit with a joyo splinter.
@@FuzzlordEffects That surprises me; I would have thought they'd be a staple. Any idea why that is? I'm just getting into playing and was considering buying a baritone.
This is music, this is art, you can play anything with anything
I agree ✌️
Gibson Les Paul. Just a preference. Rock, Metal, jazz, blues, country. That guitar can do it all and not look/feel out of place.
Such a good guitar!
It can do anything except stay in tune
😂😂😂@@benjamincarlson4893
Except it's hard to reach the top low strings on the high frets. SGs fix this
Unpopular opinion but you can play any style of music on any style of guitar. Also, active pickups are fine for doom.
100% truth
Totally agree! Be happy with what you have and get back to making music 🖤
Whatever guitar with humbuckers you can afford. It isn’t as important as we like to believe.
For sure!
Dawg idk that telecaster sounded nastier than the rest of ‘em

hell yes!!!
I use an Epiphone SG
Epiphone Les Paul
& believe it or not an Epiphone 335 Dot semi hollow body... sounds huge!
nice guitars!
Single coil stratocasters on standard tuning (add a triangle muff and a boss chorus 2, run through an orange amp)

What color did you finish it in!
I play almost exclusively explorers and explorer-esque models. Well balanced, weighty and absolute beasts
Such cool looking guitars!
Very cool that you have you pops 70s LP.
Thank you James, I never play it cause I’m hard on guitars and want to keep it nice but feel very lucky to have it 🖤
You can doom on anything....doesn't even need to have strings 😃🎷🤘
The tuba has just entered the chat 🖤
facts. ive used my electric kazoo in a few recordings.

Nice!
Hagstrom Fantomen. Best RD copy with great pickups.

Gibson SG’s hands down..
If it was good enough for the GodFather Tony Iommi

Love those pickups!
Think audio is synced only to the left side
My bad and thanks for the heads up! Looks like I had an issue with camera/mic but the audio clips are in both channels 🙏
I just scored a Gibson SONEX from my birth year. It doesn’t have a whole lotta versatility but it goes hard for doom.
Great vid man 👊🏼💀🖤
Thank you!

I’ve played doom on a tele for many years! A standard and as a 72 deluxe, but that’s kinda cheating. 😂
Sick pedals, probably go with the FU-2, I like those aluminum necks
Cheers!

Super strats are so cool! I always wanted one as a teen
I wish I could afford more classic doom type guitars, but ultimately it's the approach and attitude toward ls the guitar, and the amplifiers used lol
yamaha SG2000
Amazing instrument 🐐
I use a Dean ML X and man it Is awesome!!!!
God I have always wanted one of those!!! Rad guitar dude!
I love archtop guitars for doom
Those probbaly give some badass feedback and sustain!

A Jaguar with two P90!
nice!
LTD EC 1000s can doom. I have one with an evertune
Harsh sounding are those aluminum necks. Especially the second guitar. Nice video though.
I prefer single coils and a fuzz
Why no baritone guitars?
Not super popular in doom

flatwound strings seem like some of yo guys should be using them.
they're like "guitar strings for men".
