Niki Lauda - you managed to surprise everyone in 1976 by cramming in another 43 years. Rest In Peace.
Niki Lauda is such a cool guy. Met him when he took delivery of his first Boeing 777 and he made a stop in Las Vegas. He was so easy to talk to and he gave me his insightful view of F1 at the time. A true class act, and a hero of the sport.
Niki Lauda is made of steel. Pure old school guy, very strong spiritually & mentally.
thats what i love about him .....not many out there can say the same
He grew up in a world that had not yet been so polluted by moral relativism...
i love that even though he is all those things, he is still caring, honest and able to accept peoples differences around him like lewis's differences
@@cm-kl2wx thank you so much for introducing me to a new phrase which brilliantly explains todays age.
I don't why but whenever I listen to this guy, I feel that he sorted his life very well and he lived without much confusion. He was clear throughout.
he stood up for his chosen career and no one told him otherwise. Most families demand of your time while you're out there making a buck to support the family and very little time to relax. He has no regrets and he even said it's normal. You gotta do what you gotta do to survive and make it work. If people take offense to it, too bad that's how things are to put food on the table. i like his approach
True I've found myself almost binging all his interviews. What a phenomenal legend he is
Wow his wife is gorgeous, good on him. Glad things worked out for him overall
Alex Spofford I
He’s niki fucking lauda. Of course things turned out well.
@@asianmaddness56 but not because he deserved it, but because he fucking worked for it, he made his own success
Both of em. lol
Such a great great man, the second wife wasn’t popular with Niki fans and the people around him including me lol she was 26 and Niki 56 when they met, she pursued him..she insisted he take her to the Maldives after a few weeks of knowing him..she went for Niki for the money and the security he could give her. The Lauda name also is a powerful name in Austria because of his family in banking. She wanted to marry him for the money security and the name. She gave him a kidney but that was a very small price to pay for what she wanted and got in return. It makes me sad that this sort of woman went for Niki, he was very special, I’m sure he knew, he was a very clever man. Like the saying goes with money “you can’t take it with you” the ££ in the end meant more than Niki did which is very sad, but he’s at peace now ❤️❤️
I’ve watched almost all his interviews and he never gave a genuine smile until he started talking about his kids. All real racing drivers are kids at heart.
True. I noticed that too. When he talks about his children, his eyes light up, he smiles joyfully and you can see his joy and love for his children.
Watching all these videos now hits so much different, R.I.P Niki 🙏🏽
@Elias Håkansson Yes me too, watched the movie just heard about him, what a great man. Fuck this modern tinder filled world where it's like nothing means anything anymore.
mr lauda seams like a good person , i think he is a good guy
on the best driver and an even better human
ok, lauda is rich, old, full of plus for a woman who wants a comfort life, but, when you give a kidney from your body this it a prove that you love the person, without conditions
Himanshu Gupta it's obvious 4 u, my partens were 27 years difference and my mum really loved my father...
why would it be obvious? Just marry that old fuck, be happy that he has problems with his kidney and hope that it kills him, no?
Wouldn't that be the approach if you marry someone for lifestyle? But no, she did donate a kidney, she was willing to sacrifice that for him which in my opinion shows love.
And people enjoy how Niki is in this interview, don't they? It's not too hard to believe that a woman enjoy his company aswell. And some people actually pick a partner because of their character.
Sure, gratefulness is something that comes naturally to most people and I'm sure she is partly grateful that he allows her to have a life like this.
But donating a kidney is definitely a sign that gratefulness is not everything but she actually likes/loves him.
Wow, she's a keeper.
@Himanshu Gupta .. i think you will suffer to find the meaning of true love... coz you will never understand it...
@Himanshu Gupta In the words of Denzel, you will never find a uhaul behind a hearst.
What a real man. Honest. Strong. So smart.
Niki's wife is just as badass as he is!! Wow!
Do you know what she said about the ice cream. I told you there is no ice-cream. Too much sugar and ...?
The way, the mannerism in how he talks, speaks... especially the way he says "risk," it makes me appreciate even more the way Daniel Bruhl portrayed him in the movie, "Rush."
It really shows how dedicated Bruhl was to playing Lauda on point, making the character as real as the man!
She loves him with compersion... which is the opposite of jealousy. Amazing and indeed super rare....and unconditional too.
Blackstone Daze you taught me a new word thanks
No, that was his former wife
we’ll always love niki, this video truly shows the type of person he is. a friendly loving guy who cares about those who are around him. he was a truly special and unique person who stood out from everyone else. rest in peace niki and we will always miss you
What a wonderful guy, he's going to be missed
Damn we need to appreciate how good Graham’s interviews are, he always asked what we wanna know and is so interested in the other person
Thanks for the kind words, Vincent! Glad you're enjoying the interviews. -AD
Down to Earth kind of Man ! Just Wonderful to listen to the Interviews and hearing and learning more Good and Great things about Niki Lauda !
He’s a blessed man, RIP Niki we’ll miss you.
Niki is an outstanding man after all hes been through
He is a truly engaging individual, never wasted so much as a word. Thank you Mr Lauda
Such a decent guy - was my F1 hero when I was a kid. To see what he has gone through, it's a life well being lived.
Iip
He was my hero too. I watched his races all the time
What an absolute legend. Rest in peace
We will miss you so much❤️
It is so beautiful to see Nikki in this way ..
RIP Niki. You are greatly missed
My wife used to work for Niki at his second airline right at the time of the story in this video. She met Niki and flew with him many times. He was a "difficult" person in many ways, but a great businessman if that is what you want to be (and he did). My wife also met Birgit many times and said that she was (and probably still is) a wonderful person.
People who demand perfection, punctuality and are logical are often perceived as difficult. But that's exactly how an airline business should be run.
@@babyamom2004 I definitely agree, but Niki was known for going over the line of demanding punctuality, for one thing. My wife saw this personally.
This guy is a fantastic interviewer!! Earned a subscription!
c mac you're right...he doesn't interrupt! Let the interviewee talk!
True
Me too
REST IN PEACE.
Damn this guy has had a life
What impresses me the most about Lauda is that he seems so confident and straight in his decisions and opinions. People may not always share his view, but he is confident in what he says and follows through with it, no matter the consequences, no bullshit.
what a wonderful, strong-minded, strong-willed person
After seeing this interview series. I like Mr Lauda even more. He had this classy old fashion masculinity & intelligence.
Seems like a great man. Really genuine and thinks before opening his mouth. A modern day philosopher, if you like!
Very strong personality who stuck to his principles. And his unshakable resolve to do something he believed in even led to severing his relationship with his grandfather.
1975 being a 14year old kid my interest in motorsports especially Formula One started. It was the year Niki gained his first Championship driving the Ferrari 312T. Then 1976 on the edge of death and his recovery and so on. Thanks for sharing this interview I wish his familiy just the best, R.I.P. Niki, wherever you may be now.
The more interviews with N.Lauda I watch, the more my respect for him grows. What a man.
Ditto. I want to find all I can about the man.
My Hero
What a Man
Rest in peace nikki lauda you are surley missed❤️😭😭😭😭
man Lauda is still a Legend..i might be 14 years old but Niki is my favourite F1 driver
Mr Lauda is one of the all time greats in F1-who else could come back from that horrific accident and be world champions again? Only one man and it is Nikki Lauda!! who wants to argue this point? Any other candidates? No -of course there are not!
What a legend of a real man!
A great and good man with an apparently normal great and good life. Cheers Niki!
Amazing story, book worthy
Great interview; great interviewer.
Niki Lauda is a true icon of all sports
You can’t help but admire and like him the more you hear.
Unfortunately he died 12 days ago due to kidney failure
I know.
He looks great ,way better then lots of people without surgeries ...
YES..!!!!
Amazing life. I never met this man but look how lucky he was to survive F1 and live a long, fulfilling life. In the film "RUSH" his character says that happiness is the biggest enemy. When Niki talks about his family here, happiness is the true friend.
Rest In Peace.
he had such a great life
True hero.
Niki a fortunate man to meet such a kind and beautiful wife may well be so fortunate to meet a love one like this
Such a lovely wife!
Nikky you legend.
R.I.P.
Miss this guy.
RIP LEGEND
Legend!! #ripniki
The one and only. Greatest sportsman in history
We miss you Niki
Very direct
Man
Rip you freaking legend
Daniel Bruhl's speaking style is spot on. Niki Lauda is the G.O.A.T
LEGENDEM PARA O PORTUGUÊSSSSSSSSS TODA ENTREVISTA, QUE ESTÁ POR PARTES!!!! POR FAVORRRRRRRRR!!!!
amazing
What a lovely woman!
He would have made a great driving instructor, especially for his kids, so who taught you to how to drive, oh Niki Lauda:)
I went to google to see how old his wife was came back finding out he died yesterday. RIp
Ever Wonder About Courage,,, Look It Up In The Dictionary.... Niki's Picture Is Listed Right There Under Courage,,, In The Dictionary,,,
Does anyone know why his first marriage didn't work out? I loved Marlene for him.
Bravo
Ah Niki; un grand Monsieur, une Légende je suis bien triste.
She is a hero, Lauda's hero
That is what the marriage should be!!!
Imagine Niki Lauda picking you up from school lol!!!
I adore his courage and his achievement, but I would not like him to pick me up from school or from work!
He has a wonderful wife and a real soul mate, I would not l like anybody to even think of something going on between us!!!
It would be so stupid and unforgettable!!!
But, I would love to have a soulmate and a real husband for m myself, as Niki managed to find his!!!
@@merimakrstevska5080 hes talking about picking up his kids
@@neillp3827 No, we did not talk about anybody 's kids!
The sentence was:"imagine picking you up from school, lol!", refering to Nicky Lauda, God rest his soul!
As he was happily married, my answer was such!!!
All in all, a kind of misunderstand in, I guess!
@@merimakrstevska5080 nikki was talking about picking his kids up from school and getting ice cream the op has referenced that
@@neillp3827 It was not what I have read,Mr.Neill.The real sentence was:"Imagine Niki Lauda picking YOU up from school lol!!!"
That's why I gave that comment!!!
May he rest in peace!
He is a legend for ever!
i was the same when i gave my kidney to my cousin
He certainly is not overtly religious but I do admire that he’s not too cool to pray.
He is dead
😇🥰💫😇Niki 🥰💓🤗😇 Forever🥰😘😍🥰💫😇🥰
i want to be like Niki when i grow up
A soft dad !
Your wife would feel overwhelmed becoz you are no longer here.
I said "no". That's a man. More concerned about her than himself.
R.I.P. Mr Lauda
Look I used to go to the Tasman series in the generation before this guy. I was only 13 to 17, used to go to unofficial . Practise . There was some ego around but not the top guys. I wish Hunt hadn’t burnt himself out, & was around longer to give his side of the relationshipThe photos of these 2 are amazing. Unfortunately I never saw Niki, saw him race in Australia but it was impossible to get near him in those days. Jim Clark was a total gentleman until he got in a car then used to “ go like hell & took no prisoners”.
what an amazing man...and he had a set of twins with his second wife at the age of 60...met him a number of times at Formula One races...kidney transplant...lung transplant...eventually, the damage from that fire in 1976 became too much...but what a life he lived...an inspiration...
He also had a lung transplant ! ...I expect chronic damages due to the fire. He certainly went though a lot to stay alive. Respect for that man ! His body finally wore out but his mind certainly did not. Glad he had quality life with his young wife and kids.
A great women, friend, love and Wife for all life.
No one do was Kidney do.
Great women in attitude and personalitie.
I'm a hopeless romantic I thought he was still married to his 1st wife,u no the old faithful honest Lauda but it is a pretty good story, not sure about having kids at this age though they must be pretty little with no dad. The story he's giving is "grandad"
Niki was like guys who came out from war and tell what's happened. Living in danger leave scars in soul. He killed F1 glamour. James Hunt try build it up and died young. Heroism is not about the truth, but about what people want to believe.
She is 30 years his junior. Hmmmm ............. MUST BE True love! LOL
It happens.
@@linanicolia1363 30 years difference??? Let's be realistic. This type of "true love" happens when the elder one of the two is financially very well off. Remove that part of the equation and it has probably never happened and probably never will happen (with a 30 year difference). Oh, yeah, there is also a reason why he liked her being 30 years younger, and I am pretty sure it didn't have much to do with stimulating intellectual conversations. If they were happy, great, good for them. That is all that really matters. Let's just not pretend him being worth $100 million (or whatever his worth was) didn't factor into them ever meeting let alone getting married as well as her being 30 years younger.
@@KRIPP548 You may be right. But let me ask you this ; would you give your kidney on for receiving a potential wealthy marriage proposal ?
@@scouter-xn6zi That is an incoherent question.
Man of focus......r.i.p.
What a real fuckin baller
so nick is and ultrasoft?
Hahaha but don't tell him it's Pirelli, he does not like them ;)
I saw what you did there 😂
more like a hypersoft XD
Such an amazing man, unfortunately his second wife wasn’t popular, she married him for the wrong reasons, she was 28 him 58 when they met after a few weeks she demanded a trip to the Maldives, money, security and what the Lauda name could do for her. She gave her kidney but that was a small price for what she got in return. Niki deserved better than that, he deserved someone who loved him not what he could do for them. Every time he talks about Marlene (his first wife) you can tell she was his true love he didn’t talk about his second wife like he did her, I don’t think he ever loved another as much as he did her
He asked his son to donate a kindey to him lol.
Hope she got her kidney back.
Wish I had an ice cream with Niki :-)
Please be the President of the world. Let's all vote for The Legend Lauda. Let's make a new religion! xD
I think Niki Lauda is an awesome and respectable man. A true hero! But I can't help but thinking his much younger, beautiful wife has a something to do with his wealth and status in F1 too. And a little vacation to Monaco every now and then doesn't hurt either. But no hate! I think he deserves it, very intelligent and honest person.
Do you know his relationship with his wife reminds me exactly of my mom and dad who are 30 years apart my dad has two previous kids and now he has two more for my mom the only thing different is that we do not have a good relationship with my dad‘s ex like whatsoever
did she donate her kidney? this reminds me of rupert murdoch's helicopter pilot doing the same thing for murdoch. but did they really? I'm thinking a cover for using the falun gong. my theory and i'm hanging with it.
And to think his wife wasn't even born when he had his accident lmao why are all men like this
fr 😭
Because women age like milk. Men age like wine.
you can also ask why women are 'like this' , to marry someone who was her current age , when she was born
A more accurate question would be to ask why all women are like this.
She made the choice to marry a man much older than her, she made the choice to donate her kidney.
He didn't ask for any of it. So again, why didn't you state "lmao why are all women like this"?
Women are not so much worried about age or appearance when looking for a husband. The important attributes are if he can father children and provide a home and food.@@m-h1217
