- This Porsche 924 has been repaired and now runs in top form. However, with cracked leather seats and a broken dashboard will Ant be able to get this red hot motor looking as good at it performs?

Where in the hell did you find a 924 dash without cracks in it!?
he said "i got it just around the corner" like what they are no where online
that's why its a brown one...the only one he could find that wasn't cracked!
This is why I call BS. At least here in Los Angeles you could take that original dash to East L.A. and get a low-rise upholstery shop to reupholster it, but it wouldn't be original.
Awesome Ant! Just saved a Porsche destined for the scrap metal yard! Great to see old classics look and feel like new. Well done.
I just bought a 1979 in slightly better shape than yours, closer to your finished product, and this video just inspired the living daylights out of me. I'd love to know more about the short shifter conversion!
Didn’t know this show was still going…
Mike and his “Winchester rifle” analogy always gets me
My first car 1990 was a 1985 924, with just 50000 km on the meter, as good as new in all aspects...but guess what? A liiittle crack beginning on the dash. Sold it after about 2-3 yrs. I was phone up by some dude 4 yrs ago who had bought it then and thought it was in such good condition he wanted to make a book documenting it's history.
A sweet car, especially when young and as a first.
What an improvement to that dash!
Hi, there loved the vid. What did you need to do to fix the rough idle? Best wishes
A spectacular piece
Starting to like Ant and his skills. Good job.
Just watched this as a rerun on tv. He put the front crankshaft oil seal in the wrong way round. This is the man who calls a water pump impeller a fan.
Vielen Dank!
ti seguo anche in tv sarebbe la macchina dei miei sogni quella
Where does it find the energy ?? I will be knackered after changing the complete interior and dashboard.
Mike’s has a lot on his plate recently
Mike I have a 1991, 911carrera 4 cabriolet, 964 night blue on white, 88,000 miles. very nice runs great, no rust
Hi My name is Stuart i am From Zimbabwe I just recently bought a porsche 924 and i have watched all you shows and wanted to get some advice
Its pure entertainment now.In the early days of wheeler dealers you could actually tackle the jobs with basic tools and jacks whereas now you need a fully kitted out garage and a degree in engineering.Still fun to watch though.
Finish it off with a vid of the sale
I had three of these back in the 90s, much better than most people remember. They were very cheap.
A spoon in a bucket of porridge eh? hmm, I might have to put a short shifter on mine then as it has a similar issue...
God Thing i live in Denmark
What did they sell it for?
Nobody wanted it. They asked too much($10k).
After all the talk about this being the very first car on the show back in 2003 I got a feeling Mike wanted it for himself and they brought a Ringer in to play the role of the reluctant buyer ;)
Ants a good guy, talented and likeable it’s just Ed’s a hard act to follow. If the show started with Ed people would be saying Ed’s shit
What's the show about...? It didn't show any repairs.
1977,1978, model had the nicest looking mag wheels on this car. Too bad the first edition of the 924 had such a small engine. They should have put a 2.5 litre engine immediately, the engine they used for the 1986 924. Had they done that, I think the 924 would have had greater popularity/success/recognition. In my opinion, the 924 was one of the nicest looking Porsches.
how could they put in the 2.5 in before it was even invented? the 2.5 was made for the 944 and then put in the 924s. the 2.0 was perfectly fine and its not exactly small, for a 4 cylinder its actually quite big
@@kristian5821 Let me rephrase that: They should have put a (one, any 2.5 litre 150 hp engine ) in the original Porsche 924. My parents owned a 1978 924 and we felt that it was underpowered for a Porsche.
If you add in the cost of labor you're in it for 13 grand. You really only get to discount the value of your time if it's your own car or project-if you're flipping it for a profit then time costs money.
Atom Ant
C O O L !
He is talking about sun.
So the car is for sure 100% imported
1977 Porsche 924...for $8300? That's 951 territory. Much better car.
and a 1000 dollars work overy 3 years on the 944 belts lovely. And in europe at least, the good 944 start much higher in price whit the really good condition ones well over 20k.
@Irene smith inform yourself. the 924 has a vw engine BLOCK the 944 engine is fully designed by porsche
@Irene smith not
@Irene smith wrong lol
Not the same without ED :(
Not true. Ant is doing just fine.
Agree not the same without Edd it's better this guys different class.
Keith Isaacs I like them both. Edd was a fine mechanic but Ant is an engineer. He makes things from scratch Edd wouldn’t ever attempt.
Missing Ant
Love the show with Ant, I dont watch it with Edd.
Considering it's a vw beetle in drag, that should be no problem :-)
Salty ey?
"Can Ant Get This Porsche 924 Looking As Good As Edd Could"? That's how it should read!

5:21 how did he lean in and start the car up without stepping on the clutch? The magic of tv.
Because it's a manual and as long as it's in neutral you don't need to press the clutch to start the car no TV magic
That’s the opposite of how it works. A manual car can’t be started without the clutch depressed.
Apparently you don't have a licence to drive manuals you can put the clutch in as a precaution just in case it's in gear but you can just make sure it's in neutral by wobbling the gear stick newer cars you depress the clutch if it has a button start or smart key but older models and cars with normal key blade don't require it
Every manual car I’ve owned has needed the clutch pressed in to start. That’s also what I was taught when I learned to drive a stick. I didn’t know there was any other way.
CJ Wilcox Car will start in neutral with out depressing clutch. My 83’ 944 does as well.
this show would be infinitely better if Ant just bought the car and did the show himself, there is absolutely no need for motormouth MIke Brewer anymore Mike is a dead duck a throw back to another age of dodgy dealer motor traders.its high time wheeler dealers went into the 21st century with just one presenter.
Edd already worked on this car, and did it way better..
Not true. Ant did a fabulous job.
No. Edd bodged a lot of cars, but was given a rubbish budget. Edd is a good mechanic, Ant is an engineer.
You could literally buy a fiesta 1.0 faster than this car
Go buy one
