    I loved the first few seasons. Today they have lost their way. Ed was the real star of the show.

      yeah, Edd's channel is much better than the wheeler dealer shows he used to do. None of the annoying stuff, just simple working on cars and Top Tips.

      You have to understand that now WD talks to people who already know a bit of mechanics work or want to tackle that career. The show is basically the same, but they take something for granted, like removing a carburettor etc. Which is fine, as many youtubers make a video about that.

    The first episode of Wheeler Dealers was fantastic. I like the seriousness of Ed, i.e. no messing around, just staying true to the work.

    Absolute cracking show. Ed’s knowledge is very impressive. Shame things went sour towards the end. If the offer from the states had not come in things I am sure would be different. Hats off to both these guys for tv gold

      That’s because he is, just ask trading standards. If you listen carefully in later shows when he is “selling” the car to the prospective buyer he says a lot of untruths.

      I agree edd is a great bloke I miss watching him on TV learned alot from watching this over the years now I'm a mechanic my self more accident damaged cars than anything else but I do flip cars as well

He has spoken more bs that all the farms in the world put together have ever or will ever produce. I stopped watching when Ed left. All about the drama now. No technical content.

    All the best episodes featured an aerosol of satin black at some point!
    These old ones were so much more authentic and interesting to watch.

    I really loved the early days of wheeler dealers, they really showed you stuff that you could do in your garage by yourself, have even taken a few tips!

    I love ,mr B , he is so funny,, he gets so happy when he sees what Ed has done.. i wish Ed could fix my car he can do anything,, i watch the show every day,, and u get a lot of ideas. Thanks for your show ...l really love it...i love the little red car,, its really a cutie. Thanks mr B &Ed .

    I loved these early episodes on Wheeler Dealers when I saw them first and they still look great Ed looks about 20 and Mike looks thin and sounded sharp.
    It was a great show.

    I'm reading Edd's book. It's crazy that he was pulling multiple consecutive all nighters to get WD's done and run his own business.

    So much better in the early days when they each had their place. Mike Brewer obviously didn't think he was getting enough screen time. so used his considerable weight to do more than buy and sell the cars and parts and tried to muscle in on the mechanical side. He just had no capability in that area at all.

    It was a much better show back then. Moving to America and losing Edd was a big mistake. You should have kept him which was an option if you came back to the UK as he wanted.

    I like that back then he tackled the paint jobs by himself. I know paint should only be done professionally as you get horrible results otherwise but on an old car and if you the type of person that does not really care why not give it a go. It is such a pity though with spray work you need to have it done properly with great expense whereas with mechanical you can get away with some DIY - this is my greatest challenge.

    Love these episodes so much! Polisher technique is a bit laughable by today’s standards 🤣 whatever that compound was turned to an oil slick after a few spins 😱

    Huh, this was so different in the early series. I preferred the more laid-back approach to presenting Mike had back then. It's so over the top now. He'll put his foot on the accelerator in a 30yo 1.6 and 'WOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAHHHHH'

    To be clear, there were LOADS more older episodes than this. This might be the first episode that aired internationally on *cable television.* In the oldest episodes, Edd wasn't nearly as "animated" and the show was much more amateur-ish. Sometimes the shop was so dark you could hardly see, and it was so loud you could hardly hear.

      @@craigsmith6519 yeah, I don’t see why they need to pretend like that. Could have just said, we are making a show where we flip old cars for cheap. Also, pretty dumb how they put the car for sale before any work is done. I think that hurts it a lot

    The difference in cost and tools when this was on channel 4 to when discovery took it in is night and day this is proper car diy the disco version is all about advertising car parts

    Ich habe den Edd China von Anfang an geliebt, er war auch immer der Grund, warum ich die Sendung schaute. Auf den Selbstdarsteller Charles Brewer konnte ich schon immer verzichten. Die Produzenten hätten auch jemand Anderen nehmen sollen.

    love an underdog like a porsche 924, not worth any of the work to polish a turd up. but after this i bought one did the same, thing, hated it and sold it for parts. the only porsche to loose in a race against a hot hatch of the era. xr2 fast. sigh
