I bought one of these new in the box for 50$! A friend had bought it and after a year or so he decided to try it out. The ram wouldn't move. Too late to return it and he didn't keep the receipt so he sold it to me. It powered up, and had oil but no movement. The hydraulic relief valve on the bottom of the machine was open just slightly. Gave it about 1/4 turn and it's always worked great since :) I've thrown mine in the trunk and had "wood splitting" bbq's with friends a couple times.
I’ve had mine for at 5-6 years runs great does a nice job for my fireplace. There is always wood available in my neighborhood people cutting down large trees and stack them by the street, free for the taking. Beats the hell out of a ax,splitting mall, and wedge. Well worth the $250
My red oak trees are huge round. I cut them 17" long and there every bit of 33" round. that how i pick them up! BUST THEM UP. Then set them on the splitter, and go to town making firewood/ Also save the bark! They make excellent kindlings. There easy to start, and burns hot/ I made a block stand for it out of 8 concert blocks, 2 high 4 in front for the legs, and 4 for the back wheels. Its very sturdy
I just bought this and it won’t split even 3 inch diameter logs. Checked oil, sharpened wedge, and loosened bleed plug. Still won’t cut. Any suggestions?
Let me help You guys out. You get a big log you can't pick up? Take a diamond wedge and bust it into halves, If you still can't pick it up bust it into quarters, He heee if you still can't pick it up? 😆 SET IT ON FIRE 🔥

I'm totally happy with mine. Great buy for under 300 bucks.
Forgot to mention that I too use it for stuff up to 16 to 18 inches half the time and it works fine as long as you don't have super knotty wood.
I have on ,been splitting maple,it works good,no complaints, its handy cause I just pick it up and put it away,no regrets.

Great idea man
Don’t like two hand operation
You can get a log to the face. Other than a split lip and some loosened teeth it's EXTREMELY safe.
You should be detecting sarcasm.
