    If you placed a big enough block behind your log then your log would split all the way thru.

    If you don't like the fact that it doesn't go all the way to the end, you just place another piece of wood between the ram and the wood and it will push that piece all the way thru!

    I heat my house with this splitter no problem. Have over 6 cord through mine.
