There were many hiding down the aisles, but the bands are a real feature of North East Scotland and this is the only store that allows this, but usually only at Christmas.
I like pipe bands. My concern is that with millions of tunes available why is it that they play the same tunes all the time? Thanks! I must add, these musicians are very good! I could barely march with my kit. To march while playing an instrument must require a lot of talent. I hope you were able to raise enough funds for your trip. Honouring those who fought in battles and the civilians who suffered during that needless war is a very nice thing to do! Hats off to all of you! 👍
It's kind of a 'what does everybody know' sort of tune selection. This means all those basic marches and retreats top the list, with reels strathpeys and jigs making a second tier. Something as specialized as piobaireachd tends to be 'soloist playing from across the field or on the next hilltop' sort of presentations. These guys slung in a nice air into the set....
almost expect Rowdy Roddy Piper to come out of the crown and say- " i came here to chew bubble gum and kick some ass and i ran out of bubble gum......" nicely done by the way. thumbs up.

Hi Liz, sadly not but the pipe band did manage to get to the event in France and pipe with the other European bands in front of the Cathedral.
