Beautiful Guido ... My dad passed 4 years ago this month ... a big Pink Floyd fan. After hearing the news of his death, (I was at work at the time) I left to be home with my family and the first song that I heard on the commute home was this ... My playlist was on random, 1000s of songs, and this was the first song ... was convinced that was his way of telling me "all is cool son, all is cool :)"

I'm a huge, huge PF fan, but never really cared for this tune much. Last fall I saw Brit Floyd (internationally recognized and touring PF tribute band - totally worth seeing) and they played this. The woman that did the vocalization almost brought me to tears. In fact, I'm almost tearing up thinking about it as I write this. It was touching, mesmerizing, moving - and a lot of other adjectives I just don't have the words for... It made the song finally "make sense" to me. She got an incredible standing ovation immediately afterward - to include me. My arms were tired from clapping so hard. It was absolutely, positively outstanding. Needless to say, I'm a fan of this tune, now.

I remember hearing this song live for the first time like it was yesterday. Unfortunately it was a PF tribute band, because Pink Floyd are a bit before my time (born in '97). Iremember it so vividly, because it's the first time I cried like a mad man during a concert. I never knew that music could pull that out of me, never have i felt that emotion, it wasn't sadness, it wasn't exactly happiness, it was a thing of its own, just raw emotion i guess. And this version was close to what I felt that day.
So to be able to play it on the guitar would be a literal dream come true, and even though i am noooooooowhere near this level of playing, i'll buy your tab and break my fucking fingers untill i can play this song perfectly.

When I clicked on this I thought you would just do the introduction (i.e. the bit before Clare Torry)...but then you kept going! Outstanding interpretation and playing, thank you for sharing.

Hi Guido you have moved me to make a request. I am 50 years old and have been listening to Pink Floyd since I was very young, thanks greatly, to my two older siblings. To think that this particular piece joins me in celebrating it's 50th anniversary, gives me great pleasure. Pink Floyds music is something near to perfection and not of any time as it is timeless and forever relevant, in my opinion . As a fairly competent student of classical guitar, I have nothing but admiration for your arrangements and pro level performances and owning a professional recording of your full body of Pink Floyd treatments, would sit proudly alongside my Floyd vinyl collection and go some way to making it more complete, which I don't believe it would be without it. Your arrangements are so exacting of the complete music of the various instrumental parts including rythmically echoing the feel and groove of Nicky Mason, encapsulating each piece of Floyds sound, on a single instrument, to a level I wouldn't have thought possible. I have started to purchase the tab pdfs in order to study them myself, as right now I can only imagine how gratifying it must be to play them and I must scratch that itch! I understand there maybe issues regarding copyright and such but I believe if any Floyd member heard these comprehensive renditions they would take is as huge compliment and a fitting homage of their work and possibly quite touched they were able to inspire such incredible work. I wouldn't say all this, if I wasn't totally sincere about it, you're that good! So a most heartfelt Thank You to you for this gift, which makes me feel I am hearing it anew. Let me know if this is something you have considered and anything that I could do to help support the endeavour. 10 out of 10 channel! ❤ big respect! You have inspired me.

      Ditto. 54 y/o here.....
The Great Gig has always been one of my favorite pieces of music.
During the 70s while I was in elementary school, all my friends on my block were 5/6 years older than me and they were all rockers.
I was listening to all the great classic rock tunes at age ten.
It helped too that my father loved Elvis and classic music.

    Dear Guido,
Being a guitar player myself, I thank you from. the bottom of my heart for this fantastic version of this piece. You've offered me a suspended moment in which I was sitting next to you and just listening. It's rare for me to be taken in such emotion. So, an ENORMOUS THANK YOU for your generosity and sensibility !

This is one of my alltime favorite albums and your renditions are really incredible. You think you might be able to give "Any color you like" a go? Seems you almost effortlessly play guitar parts along with other instrument parts at the same time really making it special as well as your personal touch thrown in while remaining true to the original. I play guitar but what you do far exceeds my skill level by light years. It's a pleasure listening.

I have absolutely no doubt that Rick Wright will be smiling down on this performance. This piece has some sublime chord changes care of his jazz influence.
