That landing sequence is one of the finest examples of how music can set a scene, and one of the best parts of the game.
The Landing sequence was the whole DEMO of Final Fantasy VIII, you could only expect something epic, and hell they delivered it!

That scene always gave me a certain rush. The music and the entrance just goes perfectly. Final fantasy 8s music is off the charts, even to this day its legendary.
You know, my world will crumble once we get A REMAKE OF FFVIII and IX ^•^

@@OmegaGuess well ina way its not suprising. Lets jump back in time for about 1800 years. Having 16y old kids on battlefield was not completely unexisting. it was more about the fighting skills than age back then. but still. i also find it funny how we got 17y kids doing exams by going to battle frontlines :P

Im a massive Final Fantasy 8 fan have been since '99 and I've always love this song. I'm really enjoying this version its got more feel to it for me
This remake alone has made me realize what I've been missing out on FF8.
ff8 has some of the best if not the best music in the franchise and personally i love the story and theres alot of character growth for squall
When the base dropped, I seriously wanted to cry for a second. This is one of the greatest renditions of 'The Landing' that I've ever heard. God has blessed you with an incredible gift, thank you so much for sharing it with us. These remakes are breathtaking.

If Square ever lands an FF8 remake, and have me arrive at Dollet with anything other than this exact piece, I'm going to feel let down.
Indeed... If somethings not broke, don't fix it; That doesn't stop most *producers* from attempting to "refresh" or *change* things in a manner which were better off left they way are/were. Final Fantasy 8 is one hidden gem among dozens that I grew up with... Even as I look back and could let go of most of what I'd loved. Final fantasy 8 is tremendously satisfying as a game, even over 7 and 9. If they changed one thing, it should be the battle system and camera angles. I'd personally prefer to fight in real time... moving around a battle encounter/area with multiplayer as an option. After all, why *shouldn't* people be able to enjoy story or combat as a group? Whether remotely or in person... This is something that's missing from most games... Left 4 Dead is a prime example of how easy it should be to drop in and out of matches. Too bad Valve decided they didn't want to make games anymore *facepalm* ... but I digress... Games like final fantasy 8 and legend of dragoon would greatly benefit from this one overhaul.

I'm sorry man. Guess all we got was the ps1 version. Better than the shoddy midi version for sure, but I was kinda hoping they would go the way of ff10 and ff12, letting us choose updates/orchestral versions of the tracks.
After i played FF7 remake, they turned a simple bombing mission into an epic mission
I can't imagine how amazing and intense it would be if they remake FF8, the Dollet mission would be one of the best parts

That moment of the game magnified by that ost might be one of my favourites moments from all ff games i played until now, along with celes' cliff scene from ff6
Easily one of the best - if not the best - remix of this song I've heard. The changes don't feel out of place and enhance the original.
As a kid i never really appreciated this song..FF8 has the best OST out if all FF titles and my favorite protagonist. Love you Squall :)

Whats even better is that its not only one remake that is a hit, they all improve the originals and are all more than worthy and SHOULD be purchased for any potential remakes. ff7 is the most popular ff game most ff games are really forgettable
ff7 is just overhyped because it was the first 3d FF, it isnt that great and has huge holes in the story but has the badass white hair dude with mommy issues and the 'edgy' emo blonde that everyone wishes to be but can't. btw love the game, great game but not all that really. (otherwise it wouldnt need a remake~!)

So I listened to all of the other remakes you did, and kept that one last on purpose because this is one of my favourite of all time regardless of the game. And I was not disappointed !! Thank you for this wonderful piece !

Ah, good times. I remember getting to this part in 8. The moon and the amazing video of the team landing. The song playing, young me with my mouth open with excitement. They sure don't make games as they use too. Good work on the song!

Man, i remember the first time i heard this track. Takes me back to 1998, playing the ff8 demo disk that came with Brave Fencer Musashi in my ninja turtles pajamas. Miss them good ol' days

say what you want about FF VIII, it's the only FF that actually hits in the feels when it comes to nostalgia, i played III(VI), VII, VIV, X, but VIII will always have a special place in my heart for being that one FF that meant a lot.
shame it also was the one with ridiculously cheesy combat system that made the game hillariously easy for anyone who knew what to do. i love it yes but replayability is not there with Squall oneshotting every boss you meet while the rest of the team is really really weak in comparison (some less than others of course, Zell and Irvin can do some serious damage too )

At last, a remake that gets the pulse at the beginning right! Too many go for just drums, when it's meant to be a heartbeat. This is spot on. :D
I remember that this is the part of the story that the demo for FF8 started with. Fantastic song and drops you right into the action. The full game should have started with this instead of spending 2 hours bumming around school playing card games.

My first PSX game... and playing this after switching from NES was unforgettable experience. I had actully no idea how awesome all those new games were - not only the graphics but also story and overall complexityAnd GOSH HEARING THIS MUSIC STILL GIVES ME CHILL. THANK YOU

Final Fantasy VII and VIII was epic and i hoped my hole life there comes something like this. Now i Know its impossible
This version is very good. The middle part is my favourite, parts of this still makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up! I will give it 8/10 :) One con of this is, the use of music at the start, you need to study Chris Nolan's films and use he makes of silence to express the inner turmoil of his protagonist :)

Definitively your best remix, fits your style very well. Not every FF song can be as bass heavy as you made some of the other ones to be and stay true to the original but this is absolutely perfect.

Breezed through with Squall's Rough Divide except that hardass tank right during the escape. In one of my playthrough, I managed to kill the tank without knowing that it could be destroyed though.
it could be destroyed and it gave 50 ABP for the GFS you had. Meaning it was quite easy to master the 350 ABP abilities they had. I found an easy way to kill it was because it had like 50k hp and you had to do 5k to "Kill" it was do like 3k with a thunder spell...and pull out Quetzacoatl. He killed it and you got an extra ten seconds in get away time as it regenerated. I wound up mastering like 3 different abilities because I kept killing it with five minutes to spare. I killed at least on upwards of 10 times.
@@Zarryon12 noice trick to master several GF abilities though. 5k dmg in short time (there was a very short countdown timer right) is quite high for the beginning of the game but probably grinding in early game can really do well (some said do not go above lv 20 as enemy also level up with Squall). I was like "wait where is that damn tank? Is it destroyed? Doesnt it supposed to chase my group? The countdown timer is still there." after defeat it too frequent.
@@pickin7654 You had a thirty minute timer for it, as for Squall, most people keep him dead till endgame as everyone else is max level.

When I first played this game I was in 6th grade. Yet, my love for it kept the game relevant into my High School life. This section alone made me sign up for ROTC. Alternate world joined the military because of this game.
