Uematsu is a master of theme and leitmotif. I hear no less than two other songs that are important to the game in this one-off song. (I may be missing some, too).
THE OST TO FFVIII had so much heart into it, thanks for taking me back to the days. This video game should be a must play in history lessons in all high schools around the world (lol maybe I got myself too hyped about this epic masterpiece)

Nice job! It's a remastered version of the original made to sound like a live orchestra, and yet it still keeps the feeling and style that the original had. So far, it's the best fan-remake of this track i've heard by far!
My first final fantasy and the first video game I ever 100%ed. Looking back the game had a lot of problems with the gameplay and story, but danm if it doesn't have the best soundtrack of any final fantasy, which is really saying something
Ok well the story doesn't have any point left out... If u play everything well and speak with everyone u get to know what happened to Squall Who are his parents and everything about Rinoa too... U Also Discovery that all the childrens of the story (Squall Selphie Irvine Zell Quistis and Seifer) have grown togheter in edea's house and then they forget about It cause the GF... Now i can't tell u everything but trust me i am a dead brain for that game i know everything about It every easter egg (or should i Say Eshtar Egg) and every background so trust me there Is nothing left out in the story. The game had some problems but it Is a 1999 game so Is good to be Just like It Is now... Best FF in the saga if u Ask me and It should have a remake asap
@@Antonio-zk3gm Yeah it may not be as good as the one you linked to but i think that Pontus still has done a good job with this one. Do you really know how hard it is to make music ??? it takes a lot of time to get everything right and mixing/mastering require a lot of effort as well
I'm actually saying this same thing to myself right now, 5 years later. I've had all the Distant Worlds official orchestra songs and have been crying cause they never remade this song, and this is just as good as the Distant Worlds remakes.
FF7R isn't a possibility, it is happening. My guess is FF6 after that. FF8 doesn't really have enough meat around the bone for a remake, even though it's a very good game.
Keep the combat system unchanged; keep the GF unchanged; keep the great music, keep the Triple Triad card game; just update the graphics; and yo`re golden
The only thing I would add to change. Squall needs his "whatever" lines in the West to be in line with his lines in the East. Years old comments, but its all good. :)
You know, your Promise album is sooo good that I wish there were more than 20 tracks! You did some of the best FF8 arrangements I've heard on RUclips! By any chance, could you please do an arrangement of The Stage Is Set? It's one of the best FF8 tracks, I'd love to see what you can do with it! :)
I reckon instead of making new final fantasy might as well focus on remaking older titles. at lease some new players can experience the epic story of final fantasy on newer consoles.
Dude, FF8 sold 8.15 million times. I would not call that "underestimated" especially because underestimated means that people believed it would not sell well. The word you are looking for is "underrated" - and again, it also wasn't. It's a million seller.
