A relationship, like a well prepared dish, is created by what each person brings to the table. What ingredients for success are you showing up with? If you are showing up to the table hungry, expecting to be fed, then you are making the other person responsible for your happiness and for doing the work in the relationship. Perhaps you've poured your heart and soul into a relationship that left you wanting or hurting and now it's difficult to trust anyone. This is why it's vital for us to be able to care for ourselves and take responsibility for our own happiness. We have to invest in ourselves first; we can only get out of a relationship what we are willing to put into it. If we start out with a self love deficit or feel that we don't deserve to be happy, then we are not only sabotaging our own happiness and hurting ourselves, but also our relationship and the happiness of our partner. A relationship motivated by dependency or desperation doesn't lead to happiness, it leads to despair. That's actually unfair to both of you. Just like love, our happiness is meant to be shared and there is nothing better than when both people are giving the best of themselves to each other. True, true while you die slowly every day. I think we believe forgiveness is something we do by ourselves. We can’t even broach the forgiveness subject without God bringing it to you first.
There's a lot of wisdom in Elizabeth's words, however I wonder if this concept of being docile and passive are often used against us as women to prevent standing up against sexual predators and violence against us. It seems that we will always be told that we are contentious if we are looking for justice or protection in any capacity. I only find women trying to convince ourselves constantly that we need to forgive. Ladies, don't forgive your rapists or the men who use pornography and justify sexually harassing you based on those terms. You can start again and look forward to the positive things of the future and not allow them to weigh you down, but don't go being naive.
I think there may be a fear of feeling that if you forgive your rapist/sexual predator that you are justifying what they did or that you are making your self susceptible to being hurt in the same way again which isn't true and are lies from Satan. I think God wants you to forgive and pray for your enemies because that sexual predator too may have been raped as a child and is perpetuating a cycle, but again this in no way justifies or make right what they have done. This does not mean you are sympathizing or justifying their wrong doing, but it could be God giving you understanding behind what could have driven that person to commit such heinous acts. And that forgiveness sets you free to thrive and live and heal. Because when you don't forgive (setting the incident aside and not torturously reliving it) you actually do relive that pain, and torment endlessly. That's why I believe God says forgive because he cares and loves you and does not want to see you continuously reliving and dwelling in such pain. It's no easy thing but it is possible in Christ Jesus and my prayer is that anyone that has suffered rape, molestation, or any type of sexual abuse get to know and build a relationship with Jesus Christ and began allowing him to heal, deliver, redeem and set free those who have been hurt. I also pray for those who have done the raping, molesting and abusing that Jesus holds them accountable and bring them to the truth of what they've done, and bless them with Godly sorrow that leads to transformative repentance so that they no longer commit and inflict such pain on others and will be delivered from that sinful lifestyle and receive salvation through Jesus Christ. In Jesus name I pray and ask. Amen.

I often hear Christian women say 'Maybe he himself was molested as a child or became a serial killer and is just perpetuating the cycle' but there are men who grew up in wonderful homes such as Ted Bundy and Ryan Love who had no such trauma imposed on them and despite the disproportionate sexual violence we experience as girls and women, the statistics of women re-enacting any of those acts would be an exception to the rule and an anomaly. I realize that women aren't perfect saints, but I do not fear jogging at night because I fear a woman will drive up, kidnap me and rape me and likely kill me. While I understand that there are wonderful men in the world, I often struggle with wondering if God made them innately more violent or if they're just more susceptible to satan. Nearly every refugee I've seen had to flee due to male violence - war, gangs, acid attacks... the rape that's imposed on us as a tool of war... that the $150 billion sex trafficking industry is upheld by men's purchasing of 90% girls, women and likely less than 10% boys, and if these were systems that hurt men, they would change it, but instead we are told that it happens to them too in an attempt to derail our efforts to get to the root of the issues. Anyway, I would appreciate if you would please pray for God's sons to truly honour, listen to and love us a little bit more and to not see shame in that, and for God to help protect his daughters from sexual violence and to give us the strength to act as Jesus would like us to in our protections until He returns. I have even done it 2 or 3x in 1 day as I feel like I have messed up my life so much!!!! Very early on, I noticed that what is taught and practiced in the catholic church contradicts the Holy Scriptures and what Jesus taught us. In addition, some things in the Holy Bible were unclear to me and raised additional questions and doubts, such as: - If our God is the God of love and justice, why are we punished for the sins of Adam? Doesn't that contradict the principles of love and justice? An earthly father who is full of faults and weaknesses would not do such a thing, then how can we think such a thing about our Perfect Father? - How can a loving father throw his child forever in the hell? That also contradicts these principles. And besides, in 1 Timothy 2; 3 + 4: "For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth." So, if this were really so, that in spite of His will, people will be brought forever to hell and not saved, this would mean that He can not enforce His will and thus He is not the omnipotent God, if we follow these doctrines believe. - Why does it say in some passages that Jesus is the Son of God, in others the Son of Man and in others that He and God are one? Although I kept going to the Catholic Mass, at home I no longer practiced the prayers of the catholic church, but started talking like a child to my Father (Matthew 6: 7 + 8 ). After a short while, I got the answer to everything. He guided me through a friend of my mother to the revelations of Bertha Dudde. Now I know that the Bible does not contradict itself. God can not contradict himself. The truth is not in the word, in the letter, but in the understanding, in the interpretation of it. Now I know that Jesus is God and our Father in heaven, and I understand all the processes and contexts, and through this I have come to know that He is the perfect Love and not the strict, punitive God.
