Would love to see a video one day of how you organize your materials, i am having a bit of a trouble organizing my own so it would help to learn from the best. I've watched and re-watched your videos relentlessly through the years and even got to see you in action when you came to a fly fishing fair in Iceland a few years ago.

      Hi Eiður Kristjánsson,
I really try an organise my materials but I just have shelves with large plastic containers which my son made for me to hold them and I have to say I've never got enough space...I do have a room for tying so it does make it easier to sit down when I need to rather than having to keep setting up and when finished putting it all way...I have great memories of Iceland even though I was there for less than a day, hopefully I may get a chance to come back for a bit longer then next time and even get a days fishing, please say hello to everyone for me..
      All the very best Davie

Hello Davie. Nice pattern and you did a nice job of saying how one can make changes and additions. I see you are tying on another vise rather than your tried and true. Hope you are well.

    Hello Davie...
What part of an elk skin do you find has good hair for this use?

      Hi Mike,
When I'm in my local tackle shop I look through most of the packets of Elk Hair as I can, the one I used for the small flies has short stiff hair but I could get by with the standard length which most would use for caddis..
      All the very best Davie

      Hi Alexander Green,
I used Veniards Prepared Fly Tyers Wax on the chenille..

Definitely a talented craftsman but I have a critique of this, and all other adult Caddis patterns. If you look at the insect the wing extends past the body by almost half its length. Proportions are critical in our craft and are part of the tradition of tying, the proportions on this dry are off. The body and wing are the same length. Minor point but look at the real thing. Best, M
