    Very nicely done, I like how you just casually snip and end up with a perfectly shaped cone head. 👍

    I have just spent a day brown trout fishing and used this fly that i tied using your video. I ended up catching about 10 trout on this fly alone. Thanks!!!

    Your attention to detail is one of the best I've seen. A lot of people worry about speed, where the detail is the only thing that matters. Keep on keepin on brother, I'll send you some pictures of the hogs I plan to land with this fly. THANK YOU

    that looks exactly like the "wee muddler" featured in New Zealand trophy waters, it makes a great small hopper or, tied larger, cicada pattern for here in Australia.
    Great video Again Davie

    Davie, always appreciate your attention to detail and methods to maximize steps and material usage.
    Do you ever use a Caddis parachute pattern? A guide friend has a pattern with a golden pheasant tail 'rope' body that rides low, works well, and is very easy to see.
    Thanks again for sharing your expertise and great teaching style.
    Best regards,

    hi Davie again another good video i like how uniform youre videos are imean as far as explaining details i couldnt say enough good things about them i watch them all the time and tie flies after!! i no you get asked alot of questions and was just wondering if this patterns was for imitating ovipositing caddis or newly hatched caddis fluttering on the surface/ the reaseon i asked is cuz i see flies called "skating" flies all the time and this is just wat i assumed

    I enjoy all of your videos Davie! The video is always sharp and you do a crystal clear job explaining the tie. Were you a teacher in a past life?
    This pattern looks simply great with a nice deer hair head. I've yet to venture into spinning deer hair and tying muddler patterns and the like. Have you ever tried razor blades to shape the head? Whenever I've watched tyers with blades it seems effortless and a good way to shape deer hair.

      Morning Mark,
      Any good dry fly dubbing like the one you suggested will do, I also like natural hair like opossum, hare's ear and squirrel dubbing mixed with a tiny bit of uv lite-brite at times
      All the very best Davie..

    I greatly enjoyed watching you tie Ethel, the Fluttering Caddis. What hook and hook size did you use for it? I heard a rumour that you would be at the Dieppe Fly tying Show. Is trhis foe real?

    Do you have any tips for trimming the deer hair? I don't have curved scissors so I have problems with making a nice heaf

    • @Piffilus
      @Piffilus 4 года назад

      you can use a normal double edged razor blade. Be careful of fingers and that it cuts the deer hair very effectively.
