Davie, you're the best; one part McGyver (boot lace strand...awesome), one part Bob Ross. I find myself watching your videos in the same mindset as I used to watch Bob Ross back in high school! Thanks for the great patterns and equally great presentation.

Hi davie. I like the idea of boot lace to splot the wing. Very nice pattern again. Do you think you could possibly tie a boot lace culdi. Old capa was showing me it n it worked wonders as a substitute to cdc.
    Regards stevie

    Thank you, Davie...
Do you use your silicon floatant on these, or is the CDC body and wing enough to float them?

      Hi Mike,
I've used Mucilin for as long as I've fished but one that many use is Frogs Fanny. I have some on the way so I will be fishing it this season so I'll let you know how I get on with it if you haven't use it yourself as it has been out for many years...I've attached links to both of them for you to look at...
      All the very best Davie

very nice fly. I have to say I don't have any grey bootlaces but I do have grey poly so I am sure a half of the volume would do just fine. Thanks for sharing. All the best to you and yours. Sean

Considering its been 7 years since you tied this particular pattern Davie, it's still a great pattern, of which I can think of no ways it could be improved? Eh but if it ain't broken why try a fix. He he have a great season. Keep your threads and lines tight.

Smashing pattern Davie. What mono do you use at 2lb test? just wondered for the diameter of the mono.
Many thanks and keep up the good work,
    Dennis

      Hi Dennis,
I have attached a link to the mono i like it's 2.8lb, I like to use a 9ft tapered leader down to 4lb and 2lb depending on the wind strength...
      All the very best Davie

    • @DavieMcPhail
      @DavieMcPhail  2 года назад

      Hi Richard,
When I worked at a trout fishery one of my best emerger patterns when Canis were coming off was the one in the video I have attached below...

      Hi Nicolai Andersen,
Sorry about the delay in getting back to you, you can easily tye many patterns in the style to suit the colour of flies that you are trying to represent as I do this myself...
