Very nice plane. According to Pilot Rc there are no carbon fiber in the fuselage, it is glassfiber painted black to assist the laser cutting. Nice to know when you plan antenna placement. No worries there. The plane looks fantastic!
I also wasnt a huge edge guy i really like precision flying and prefered the extra then i flew an edge and now im absolute edge guy!!! The fly precision just as good in my opinion they just do everything soo well its a win win!
I can’t wait to hear how you like it. I’ve always been an edge guy. I’ve never been able to fly a modern laser or slick for more than a few minutes and never really liked them.
Hello, I got it from Tailslide Aviation (USA distributor). It got here in a few days. I think they still might have some in stock: tailslideaviation.com/pilot-rc-edge-540v3-103.html
-- Interesting, I never liked Edge 540 and Giles 202 to fly 3D because how wing behaves especially in a RH. Both Edge and Giles great for maneuver like Waterfalls, and flat spins, as the stalled wing tip stays afloat in much more horizontal position, than double tapered wing, but those are basic 3D maneuver, which I never feel any challenge to perform on a moderately double tapered wing like Yak or Extra, but doing RH on a strait edge wings is like Riding a Bronco on a Rodeo, that is why I preferred double tapper wing for all around 3D.
This one still has the same screws system as my Laser. In the newest models (i.e. incoming Extra SX) they have quick release. I'm guessing they'll be updating these to that system soon too.
Beautiful plane and I absolutely love the scheme. But Pilot has poor quality and they should work on having fewer models with better quality control. I’ll never buy a 120cc where you have to glue on control horns because EF has the Extra 260 where they are installed already.
My experience with PilotRC models over the last two years has been really positive in terms of quality. That said, I totally understand your point about EF planes offering more pre-installed components, like the control horns-it’s a great convenience. I’m confident PilotRC is working on closing that gap, and I’m excited to see what improvements they’ll bring in future releases!
The Yellow / Blue scheme pops so well.
Very nice plane. Look forward for the build videos and radio setup!
new year new plane🥳🥳

Great video! I am looking forward to the build series for giant scale 3D planes!
Thanks! Coming soon

Looking forward to trying it out and see if it converts me too :-)

Any plans for a 88 inch version of this?
Looks like there's a 85" version coming fb.watch/wXU_cHT5Sm/
Where did you purchase this plane in the USA? Did you purchase directly from Pilot and if so how long did you wait to get it?

Do you still have to fix the horizontal guide rail with screws or quick release everyone else does it with a quick release

Welche Mode nützt du beim fliegen? Bin Anfänger...(Rechter Hand). Was wird meist bei bekanntesten Namen verwendet, Dusia zum Beispiel.
Hi! I use Mode 2 (aileron and elevator on right stick. rudder and throttle on left stick)
