    100% agree with this, that’s why I sold a massive portion of my collection as I’ll never play it again

    Think you’re exactly right. I get a buzz from buying the game far more than actually playing it a lot of the time.
    Most of my games I’ve yet to play.

    I used to have a large collection of valuable things. Then i though to myself, what if i got knocked down and killed, where would all my lovely stuff go?.. So i slowly sold it all off. Cash in the bank is far more easy to leave your kids than Old computer games and watches. It's great to have a collection and the fun of the chase.. but when you get to a certain age, you just think.... hang on a minute.!

    I have the same sort of feeling, mine is probably more tied to having a physical thing that I spent my money on as opposed to something digital, which I absolutely hate. Pressing the purchase button on physical media just feels so hollow.

    I worked out if I completed 2 games a week from my collection it will take me over 22 years to play every game and that’s if I never bought another 😂

    Mine is a mix of nostalgia and actually playing them, completed goldeneye on the wii a couple of months back, man that was fun. Almost done extreme g 3 aswell.
    Edit; almost forgot, finally completed the force unleashed on ps3 this year, 15 years after I first played it😂

    Best thing to do is make a complete list of all of your games then create a playlist of everything then start working your way through it. That way you will know that everything is going to get played.

    I have the same rotation except for my movie collection. I love collecting movies aswel as video games and I find it harder to sell a movie (especially if it’s a boutique label or special edition) than video games. Simply because looking at my movie collection is a lot less daunting. A movie is a 2 hour watch and I’ll never say to myself I’ll never get round to that, where as video games a lot of games feel like a commitment. I find myself gravitating more towards the pick up and play for 20 mins games these days. Getting old is lame.

    100% correct, it takes us back to childhood memories, and it feels great to do it, even if you never play the games, just to own them, and every so often have a purge, then re-build, the fun is all in the searching/owning... and yes, CEX is great for the trade ins.... :-)

      @@Gamegodz76He uploaded a video a few weeks ago where he was clearing out his Xbox collection. Only it became apparent that his "collection" was mostly empty green cases with reprinted NTSC covers. Then he started banning people in the comments for asking about this.

    • @Gamegodz76
      @Gamegodz76 14 дней назад +1

      @ Thats ridiculous, I unsubscribed to him, I’ve been collecting videos games since the late eighties and nineties so I’ve amassed thousands over different generations. Some done manually before the internet and mostly done now at conventions and the internet. He was slamming that you shouldn’t be checking eBay sold listings to get average market prices and saying mostly CEX quality is far better than eBay. I mentioned a fool proof way to buy and and sell and he told me I didn’t have a clue. He could collect hardcore for the ten years and he still wouldn’t scratch the surface towards my collection. He still won’t be told though, his ego is so visibly annoying.

    • @ccipher5990
      @ccipher5990 14 дней назад

      @Gamegodz76 He has been rude to posters in his comments section more than once. BTW the video was called: "Getting Rid of Xbox collection, return of game log, thank you."

    I collect for my children, I’ve amassed thousands of games and I never sell them unless it’s a duplicate. My son collects no, when something happens to me he’ll get them.

    Most of my small games collection is digital copies nowadays
    That said, I recently went to CEX and bought a PS3 game, just to have it for the box to store away, since it reminds me of my childhood.

    I think you maybe a tad wrong here so I have the Deadpool game download (not disk version) and even though they took this off the store I'm still able to uninstall/install and the play the game so surely if it's uninstalled it shouldn't allow me to redownload it as there no sigal there for it to install ?
    Another example I have is rockstar midnight club when I had a Xbox one x I couldn't buy from the store and told me to go online which basically said can't buy the game, however I have purchased the disk that wasn't pegi and that allowed me to install and play the game

    Yeah I also think the fact I play/collect video games is because I only played very little as a child and only started to pick it back up seriously back in 2018-2020 when I had an Xbox 360, and a 2ds/3ds but we were limited to how much we played and we didn’t buy too many new games but now I’m an adult, I have all the free time in the world to play whatever and whenever I want 😅

    I don't bother with Funko's/Figures. I'll pick up the dvd/blue ray if I really like the film/show. Games I love physical, It reminds me of walking into game/gamestation in the early 2000's with my brother and we would flick through and each pick up a game to mix and match on the 2 for £20 or 2 for £30 and then spend the whole weekend gaming together.
    I'm lucky that we still both enjoy gaming and one or two nights a week I'll go to his or he will come to mine and we still play games together.
    That is why I love physical.

    I was at the start of video gaming when your console was a pong machine that had one game on it and that was it. I am now 50 and played everything you can think of, at no point did I ever want to collect the games I played, because truth is most of them were crap, anyway today I want new experiences not old ones and am happy to download off steam or console what I want play then delete.

    Mate, i really enjoy your videos but you keep attempting to overcomplicate the act of collecting and playing video games. They are 2 different hobbies that intersect. People like video games. People like collecting. If you want to collect them, then do so. Conversation over.

    Collecting is a form of hunting. It could be trading cards, bird watching, books, music, train spotting, video games or priceless antiques. We go out looking for something (the prey), we stalk it, and pounce. Finally we take it home and devour it. Instead of eating our catch we catalogue it, display it and talk about the hunt around the campfire. Once we have picked through the bones we go again, looking for something else to track down.
