bro i L O V E D how when Domon got the burning gundam he didnt just immediately forget the shining. He mourned it like a friend and thanked it for protecting him and honored it by saying its reborn in the burning with its combat data. it was so respectful and i always loved that.
Shining is pretty much Domon's partner in battle along with Rain and thus of course, he'd do it. And Domon's not the only one either; some of the gundam pilots whatever the series may be actually see their gundam as their friend as well and even talk to them at times.
I loved that Rain inherited it after it was repaired. It was like her and Domon's baby, kinda. I really appreciate that it not only didn't just disappear, but that it stayed in good hands

Yeah they did a really good job at keeping the overall message of gundam without making the setting a rehash of uc(not that something similar to uc is bad)
I made a Gunpla that's inspired by Shirou Emiya (Called it "Unlimited Build Works") and it's swords are a pair of the curved Head Swords that you can color the blades. The white sword is max brightness while the black has zero brightness
The beam swords are a katana and wakizashi combo respectively. They were the swords samurai used during the Edo period. The katana is used outside while the wakizashi is used indoors. With the smaller blade being used for confined spaces.

I was thinking it was more based on the repaired bronze clothes turning gold when using the 7th sense during the Poseidon arc after the gold saint fixed them.
@RedCapBlock it can be implied that it's possible with how the mobile trace system works. The anger base super mode was a mechanical attempt to overclock the machine but the hyper mode feels like making the machine become a true extension of the fighter and their natural greater potential.

27:26 A tiny correction: Dancouga Nova wasn't in Shin SRW, it was the original Dancouga series. Anyway, thank you for all the great work, and for including all the SRW stuff. ♥️
I'm gonna be honest, it would not surprise me if the Gundams in that show spontaneously appeared one day and people just rolled with that, because it makes just as much sense as the rest of G-Gundam.
I haven't watched that many gundam series but I like how when the gundam/suit is designed to actually vent off heat, since almost all gundams regardless of universe don't show these things and limitations. Its like having some sort of realism under all off the sci-fi fantasy things the whole gundam franchise is known for. Another example of this is that suit Banagher uses after the unicorn that can't handle the beam magnum.
With all the SRW you've included, I'm surprised you didn't include one from Shin SRW. (The mention at 27:27 is a nice consolation, having the wrong Dancouga included and missing Layzner aside)
I really wish G-Gundam had actually leaned into this "guns vs melee" conversation in the show. Don't get me wrong, when I'm stoned, G-Gundam is awesome! And I shamelessly love how Domon and Rain defeat the Devil Gundam at the end! But I'm not sold on melee. Almost none of the Gundams we actually see in the show actually use ranged weapons.
I believe after Master Asia's triumphant over Gentle Chapman, other nations also slowly leave the "gun supremacy" lead us to current Gundam Fight which back into martial arts tournament. Most of them even Domon only use ranged weapon as secondary choice.
@seabookarno1664 Which is my point. I think the show would have been much more interesting if this divide had been part of the show instead of background lore. Even if it were just a few elite holdouts. I would have loved to see Domon have to deal with an enemy with legitimate fire power that makes it hard for him to get close. Imagine a scene where he has to run between building dodging shots until he gets in close. Given that Domon learned from Master Asia then there could even be a subplot of Domon wanting to prove his master was right.
@@heavyarms55 first time we see Gentle Chapman with his John Bull was episode about "gun supremacy" although in the end he did cheating with spreading thick fog and using dummy, but from what I remember he still has his marksmanship although in the end he must defeated because his health was deteriorated. "Given that Domon learned from Master Asia then there could even be a subplot of Domon wanting to prove his master was right." This subplot wouldn't work because Master Asia already proved martial arts still triumph over gun or ranged weapon thanks to his victory in the previous tournament. If not, we would see ranged Gundam Fighters more than martial artist in current Gundam Fights. Gentle Chapman was exception because that was he skilled with.
You know, I never considered that Gundams in G Gundam had to be designed and developed. I always thought that they just appear from the ether fully realized.
The way I jumped up seeing the Ninja Shining! I recently learned about it translating the Tower of Death one-shot (it appeared in an extra designs section that also had the Great Shining & Shining God Gundams from Plamo Wars), so it's even cooler realizing it was part of a team. And man, I wish there was more stuff scanned for stuff like Gundam Combat that had the God Gundam with different terrain equipment.
This is my favorite Development History so far, not just for covering the titular Gundam of the series that introduced me to the franchise, but for all of the extra information from the various Manga and Video Games. Also, I've personally preferred Burning Gundam to God Gundam due to how that name plays off of the Shining and Rising Gundams.
25:09 My favourite version of this comes from when the ibo boys get to pilot the god gundam and most of them make there own versions of the god finger along with a bunch of other little quirks Mikazuki gives the most half assed god finger just because orga told him to do it Eugene calls his the hyper justice finger Shino the erupting galaxy finger Naze and Azee from the turbins get involved Naze gets a bit over exited and Azee references reiji from build fighters It’s really cool that some people from tekkadan just get to act like kids when piloting the god gundam, especially knowing what happens in the series. It’s nice to know they at least got to have their fun with this
9:53 ahhhh... that 90's box art of the ng model kit i once had this kit in hyper mode coating and enjoy it making some poses and displayed it on the top of our TV set... that was the time Gundam Wing, Gundam G and Gundam X came its popularity in the philippines....
This was my favorite and only watchable Gundam series as a kid because it resembled Dragon Ball Z so much it was so cool watching gigantic Mechs behave like Super Saiyans
This series will always stay with me, especially because I never saw the last episode because my parents didn't know that the finale was going to be a two-part special.
@@rickytorres4213 KoH Gundam/Shuffle Heart was never stated it was manufactured by Neo Japan. but prolly it would make more sense if KoH Gundam -> Kowloon Gundam-> Master Gundam as Master Asia piloted KoH/
Best part is when he states his hand is telling him to defeat him. Like instead of saying "im powerful and im gonna kick your ass" and its more like "hey bro, its the hand thats telling me to do it, its out of my control, fella." Humble because he is not taking credit for the power but also a bit cheeky because hes like "hey, i wouldnt be able to kick your ass and id leave you alone but its the hand, bro, the hand is to blame here" lol
I have a theory about the whole g gundam series. My theory is that its actually a tv show that's why the last bit of the show felt kinda weird and different. So what I mean it being a TV show I mean it being a TV show in the build fighter series where Domon got into the gundam popularity to advertise/fund his martial arts school like how Bruce Lee did movies to advertise/fund his martial arts school. The gundam fights is heavily similar to the gunpla tournaments as its gundams fighting each other till only one stands and the world tournament has the other nations joining in the whole battle
That backpack sure have nice shock-absorption preventing items from bouncing damage especially with model kits and other delicate stuff when travelling.
I love G Gundam. It's story is completely different from having to go into the one year war against The Federation and that's what makes it very unique. Also, I cannot forget about Haro, the cute, little ball shaped robot who appeared in the Gundam series.
Love how you scientifically explained all the Mobile Fighter suits in your classic style! Now do the rest of the Shuffle Alliance and Master Gundam next! Do all the Mobile Fighters!
Always bothered me that Mark Gatha only said "Shining Finger Sword" the first time he used the attack and just "Shining Finger" for it every time afterwards.
So... if the Rising Gundam and God Gundam can do the Sekiha Love Love Tenkyoken move... and if the Rising Gundam was meant for Ulube... There could have been a hypothetical situation in which the Sekiha Love Love Tenkyoken was performed by Domon and Ulube... or they refused to do it and the Devil Gundam won.
My favorite Crossrays lines were the ones Yzak spouted when he performs attacks in the God/Burning gundam. Channeling his inner Domon has never been so hilarious, especially since they share the same VA.
I've always wondered if the other countries raised any complaints to the officials on why Neo-Japan could just show up with a second gundam for Domon when they still had their originals.
I think some might have but the tournament this happened Mr. Wong leader of Neo Hong Kong straight up changed the rules right before the finals allowing Master Aisa's Neo England and Italy's Gundams to all participate in the finals after Neo Japan had recorded a win on all three, which should have eliminated them from the tournament. Also Mr. Wong stated that a Gundam's cockpit could be targeted to win and even said a Gundam could be rebuilt as many times as needed before the final battle royal. So Neo Hong pulled a Sato Kaiba and said, "screw the rules I have money"

The lead writer and his staff could not think of how to truly defeat the Devil Gundam since their final version of it was by all rights a perfect being nothing done to it could conceivably destroy it fully that it could not regenerate from
One team member jokingly suggested its defeated by the power of Love, this can be taken into context since one of the side stories in the series built up was the relationship with Domon and Rain with Allenby being a driving force for it by making it a triangle
Tomino, G Gundam's creator and head writer and designer, decided to have that as a placeholder until they could think of a more proper method...which as what we know was never figured out and lead to a near clean 50 - 50 split in the people behind G Gundam
Half loved the idea and the end result and the other half hated it but were sorta ok with the finale written
I will point out that you did technically missed two details regarding the Gundam's History:
The first was that Ulube's Gundam was actually the successor unit to Master Asia's older Yamato Gundam that he used in the 7th Gundam Fight, this is important since this Gundam ALSO had a Finger Attack (the Shine Shine Finger) and was what he developed nearly all his Special Techniques in before Neo Japan exiled him after he failed to make it in time to the Battleground for the Gundam Fight Finals
Confiscating Yamato in the process and using it as their template for later units leading to Ulube's unit and then the Shining Gundam
This is why Asia would join Neo Hong Kong and return with his Kowloon Gundam later on
The second unit is the King of Hearts Gundam that Master Asia built alongside the other 4 Shuffle Alliance Gundams, this would be his secret unit outside the Kowloon up till he discovered the Devil Gundam and sent the King of Hearts into space since its more powerful then both his Master Gundam and the God Gundam combined
This is important because the King of Hearts was made with his data from the Yamato since it too had a Finger Technique built in and was more powerful then both God Finger and Darkness Finger
King of Hearts could be seen as a sibling or cousin unit

Now all we need is a dev history for Virsago & Ashtaron or Airmaster & Leopard. It'll probably be short though.
They really are three great MS, aren’t they?
Bro did it. A G Gundam Development History
ill never get tired of the burger king being summoned from a kamehameha with a waifu.
the sheer insanity of G gundam can make a drug fiend question what youre smoking.
Don't forget that the Burger Waifu King Kamehameha in question was being shot at ROBO-SATAN
@@LordCrate-du8zm lol. with so much hidden tentacle bait
Loved this video man. I wanna build a custom god master Gundam one day
damn you Kakarot for reminding me of domon teamups in videogames!
Now i have to play Gundam Dynasty Warriors again for all those great Domon & Puru Teamups.
(missed opportunity to use some of those clips in this video considering domon made her his student in the game and trained her in those techniques and made comboattacks with her xD)
You should do some Super Robot Wars stuff, and maybe some more what ifs.
Fantastic video! I love the G Gundam series and designs, so learning about its development and lore was a lot of fun. I hope to see more G Gundam videos in the future ✌🏻
My favorite Gundam youtuber uploads a video in my favorite series about my favorite Gundam. My day just got a lot better!
I've said it once I'll say it again. G gundam is an experience.
All that's needed to make that Lacus in God Gundam be perfect is her pilot suit.
She and Kira doing Sekiha Love Love Tenkyoken would either summon Ronald McDonald, Wendy, or Colonel Sanders 😂
26:45 "Where Domon and Rain use the power of love to summon the Burger King"
Me as a kid when I watched saw this as epic, me now is laughing XD
Then there’s that strange windmill that wasn’t there yesterday
meanwhile in the Build Fighters series a certain blue-haired kid made his own "knock-off" Shining Gundam and God Gundam called the Build Burning Gundam which was later upgraded into the Try Burning Gundam and piloted by a red-haired kid who fights using Kenpo moves.
hilariously. the real world designer of the Build Burning Gundam had no idea that the God Gundam was called Burning Gundam in English. meaning that yes. it was a coincidence
You mean delty😂😂
meanwhile in Gundam Seed he pilots Duel instead
And later in the series we find out that a version of Domon is the guy's master.
Similarly, I was disappointed that he didn't mention the Blazing Gundam built by Misa in the Battlogue.
I'm still waiting for a Development History Video in the A.D. timeline.
The Flag would be an interesting one. (Plus the Enact perhaps.)
Great video! There is also God Gundam Kiwami and Godmaru Gundam!
Its interesting how shining gundam was developed from master Asia's gundam back when he was the neo japan representative...
Could we please get more of these for the rest of the shuffle alliance? I would love to hear about them from you. These videos are so soothing and covering my favorite serie
To think Domon's english VA was just some guy who wanted to pay for medical school
And he also voiced Mega Man X in Marverick Hunter X. In the Day of Sigma short included with the game, X is even shown giving Sigma his signature scars by grabbing his face with an energized hand as a reference to Shining Finger.
@@NotMyRealName6 the only voice actor I can ever hear whenever I see X talk
Life takes directions we don’t foresee. Tomino-San studied engineering, ends up making Gundam
G gundam development history!?
LET'S GOOOO!!!!!!
So I know there's probably next to nothing and thus a video can't be made but...development history on Fuunsaiki's gundam? Like we GOTTA know about the development of the HORSE GUNDAM?? Thanks for making such an amazing video!
Lacus: Kira, we must do the Love Love Finger attack! Join my God Gundam!
Kira: Uhh... Shinn, let's switch suits for a while! I need the Destiny spec 2!
Shinn: What?! No!
Lacus: You and Lunamaria can have a turn after us.
Shinn: Even if you say that-
Lunamaria: GIVE THEM THE DESTINY, SHINN!
Pilot of Duel: ayoo
If Domon and Rain summoned the Burger King, who will Kira and Lacus summon? Ronald McDonald? 😂🤣
Hearing Mark Gatha in the clips really makes me happy.
Sad shame he's no longer a voice actor.
what happened?
@@ChrisTian-sd5yq He retired, and was working as a doctor, last we know.
@@ReploidGodX ohhh that's a nice path for him I guess
@@ChrisTian-sd5yq He became.... A veterinarian! ;_;
A pet doctor! Basically voice acting was a side hustle for him to fund his dream.
YESSSSSSS! YES YES YES YES!!!!!
I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS VIDEO!
"Given that Domon learned from Master Asia then there could even be a subplot of Domon wanting to prove his master was right."
This subplot wouldn't work because Master Asia already proved martial arts still triumph over gun or ranged weapon thanks to his victory in the previous tournament. If not, we would see ranged Gundam Fighters more than martial artist in current Gundam Fights. Gentle Chapman was exception because that was he skilled with.
@@seabookarno1664 I don't think Master Asia winning the fight once or twice is enough to "prove" anything other than his own skill personally.
@@heavyarms55 have you seen the s*** that man pulled I can believe him destroying any mobile suit with just his bare hands
Great video, Shining Gundam will always be my favorite.
Seeing a lacus performing the heat end is not what I was expecting
You know, I never considered that Gundams in G Gundam had to be designed and developed. I always thought that they just appear from the ether fully realized.
just think someone Designed Tequila Gundam in universe I'd like to see a pic of the mad-lad.😂
The right hand if God, and the left hand of the Devil!
Did I just see Lacus Clyne piloting the God Gundam?!
What crazy as drugs were they one because I want some!
Also atra piloting the barbatos in sd crossrays
the crazy one would be shiin and garod for me
I bet it looks like Duel inside
This is my favorite Development History so far, not just for covering the titular Gundam of the series that introduced me to the franchise, but for all of the extra information from the various Manga and Video Games.
Also, I've personally preferred Burning Gundam to God Gundam due to how that name plays off of the Shining and Rising Gundams.
"GUNDAM FIGHT REA......."
*interrupts with a flying shoulder tackle from dimensionally displaced Zaku I*
"Talk to much, just fight."
25:09
My favourite version of this comes from when the ibo boys get to pilot the god gundam and most of them make there own versions of the god finger along with a bunch of other little quirks
Mikazuki gives the most half assed god finger just because orga told him to do it
Eugene calls his the hyper justice finger
Shino the erupting galaxy finger
Naze and Azee from the turbins get involved Naze gets a bit over exited and Azee references reiji from build fighters
It’s really cool that some people from tekkadan just get to act like kids when piloting the god gundam, especially knowing what happens in the series. It’s nice to know they at least got to have their fun with this
Cool! G Gundam content deserved some love. 🖖
Been waiting for this for a while!
This series will always stay with me, especially because I never saw the last episode because my parents didn't know that the finale was going to be a two-part special.
I want a good mummy and Tequila gundam kit 😭😭 Really all of G Gundam tbh
Me too buddy
And now I have another truly beautiful mental image in my head.
I’m a little bit disappointed you didn’t show a clip of the Burning Graham Finger (as performed by OO’s Graham Aker)
Not sure if you want to go deeper it goes like
Yamato Gundam -> Ulube's Gundam -> Shining Etc.
King of hearts Gundam > Yamato > Ulube's > Shining
@@rickytorres4213 KoH Gundam/Shuffle Heart was never stated it was manufactured by Neo Japan.
but prolly it would make more sense if KoH Gundam -> Kowloon Gundam-> Master Gundam as Master Asia piloted KoH/
@@ruu4972 King of hearts predates the Gundam fights from my understanding and multiple neo Japan suits were reverse engineered from it
This is on of my favorites AU Gundams, along side the Freedoms, Justice, Destiny and more but i could be here for a while
Best part is when he states his hand is telling him to defeat him.
Finally some respect to G Gundam from community
That backpack sure have nice shock-absorption preventing items from bouncing damage especially with model kits and other delicate stuff when travelling.
I love G Gundam. It's story is completely different from having to go into the one year war against The Federation and that's what makes it very unique. Also, I cannot forget about Haro, the cute, little ball shaped robot who appeared in the Gundam series.
God damn, Mark Gatha's performance as Domon still gives me chills.
Do master Asias Gundams
Take a shot everytime he says finger and batsukneku lol
Love how you scientifically explained all the Mobile Fighter suits in your classic style! Now do the rest of the Shuffle Alliance and Master Gundam next! Do all the Mobile Fighters!
God I love G Gundam
So glad you used some of the music from the show
Always bothered me that Mark Gatha only said "Shining Finger Sword" the first time he used the attack and just "Shining Finger" for it every time afterwards.
yeah, but that's a script problem. From what i saw, it was the same thing in the original version
@@DarkAnon100 didn't know that.

Future Century is a very special timeline.
Best English Dub of any Gundam Series.
Fight me.
I’ve always been curious on why the trun X gundam have the ability to do the shining finger
So... if the Rising Gundam and God Gundam can do the Sekiha Love Love Tenkyoken move... and if the Rising Gundam was meant for Ulube...
There could have been a hypothetical situation in which the Sekiha Love Love Tenkyoken was performed by Domon and Ulube... or they refused to do it and the Devil Gundam won.
Ulube never piloting Rising which made Rising always associated with Rain, and it's more suitable for her with "samurai's wife" motif in Rising
Also wasn't there a Gundam Short that had the two partnering up with something??
@@robertdrexel2043 Gundam Evolve, showed Rain piloting Rising in the short film
Thank you so much! Mobile Fighter G Gundam is my favorite gundam series.
Perfect timing. Lots of G-Gundam love in GB4 too
My favorite Crossrays lines were the ones Yzak spouted when he performs attacks in the God/Burning gundam. Channeling his inner Domon has never been so hilarious, especially since they share the same VA.
Bruh Everytime I hear
Burning Finger Love love Tenkyouken.

So basically the ninja Gundam's are the ninja Sentai rangers
That water gun totally stole the show for me lol…. I want one!
GUNDAM FIGHT!
REEEEEADY?! GO!
Now I need to look up all the special dialogues for the God Finger.
I've always wondered if the other countries raised any complaints to the officials on why Neo-Japan could just show up with a second gundam for Domon when they still had their originals.
Master Asia had a modular gundam which was interesting
I think some might have but the tournament this happened Mr. Wong leader of Neo Hong Kong straight up changed the rules right before the finals allowing Master Aisa's Neo England and Italy's Gundams to all participate in the finals after Neo Japan had recorded a win on all three, which should have eliminated them from the tournament.
Also Mr. Wong stated that a Gundam's cockpit could be targeted to win and even said a Gundam could be rebuilt as many times as needed before the final battle royal.
So Neo Hong pulled a Sato Kaiba and said, "screw the rules I have money"
Technically it isn't a beam sword he's charging he's manipulating the energy into the form of a sword similar to kuwabara creating the spirit sword
