what i love about the destroy gundam is that you can see the influence of the 3 original druggie gundams. it has the transformation from the forbidden, the head of the raider as well as the focus on firepower of the calamity.

I am surprised a HGFC Devil Gundam wasn't released around the same time as the RG God Gundam like the releases of the RG Hi-Nu Gundam and HGUC Nightingale.
That is one huge HG kit. Imagine Penelope, XI and Nightingale was already an absolute unit in terms of MS size. This kit was like an older master grade designs.

The head of the Raider, has the chest weapons and back cannons like the Calamity, and Mobile Armor mode of the Forbidden and had been piloted by 2 out of the 3 who were the new successors in Destiny to the original Earth Federation Gundam antagonist trio in Seed.
you can also see alot of influence from the original drugie trio, the head is basically the same from the raider, the transformation is from the forbidden, and the entire design basically screams calamity gundam with nuclear power. its amazing how they managed to put so much in the designm and like you said, it also feels like a homage to both the psycho gundam as well as the big zam. all in all, amazing design.

Probably because EF suits relied heavily on their hidden partnership with orb. Once they turned on orb, a lot of that cooperation was likely lost. That said, if I remember right, calamity, raider, forbidden and destroy gundams were all earth federation suits pushed forward by blue cosmos. The only gundams zaft made were freedom, strike freedom, justice, infinite justice, destiny, impulse and their variants. While EF made strike + it's 3 striker packs, dual, buster, blitz, aegis, calamity, forbidden, raider, destroy. I would add astray but I think that gundam was purely an ORB suit. This info is all prior to the new movie, haven't seen it yet.

I can confidently say that Seed and Seed Destiny are the most bat shit insane Gundam series that I have watched so far. You're in for a ride if you are watching it all the way through for the first time !
This is definitely the kit that I will get when I do get the chance to visit Japan! The price difference is insane compared to retail in our country. Don't know how much it will cost when boarding it to the plane tho. But this review definitely made me wanna do it!

I had the HCM-PRO version of this unit. Seeing this is basically updated and upsized version of the HCM-PRO version (1:200 vs 1:144) A really great kit. (I love the HCM-PRO version it has more details and still great to play with till this day)
Despite my feeling towards Destiny, I thought the Destory Gundam's first appearance was well done and the episode I watch the most over. This was a gunpla I thought was never going to happen but they nailed it.
Before I saw the video on this thing I saw another video on another Gundam build and the model seen in that video was freaking huge it was so large it was about the size of a 4 year old child.

The destroy gundam. AkA A huge piece of artillery with maximum fire power but zero mobility to actually defend or out maneuver other MS. but for some fucking reason no one can hit this thing despite being a huge target standing still.
The hands are basically the same as the PG 00 and Strike Freedom, just with holes at the end for the beams not complaining since those hands were great already
So it's a combination of the Psycho gundam and the big zam. MA mode looks actually cool. Edit: 7:08 good luck 😂. If you couldn't do it the third time, I doubt you'll even attempt a fourth time. Third time's the charm is what they say.
The amount of R&D that went into this kit probably took the place of some other kits. I wonder if Bandai plans to make an HGUC MRX-010 Psycho Gundam Mk-II. I have to say though the part separation is extremely impressive.
Makes me want a 1/144 big zam. But, I'm disappointed their isn't more detail on this. I know some people like the screen accurate big flat pieces, but for me if they're gonna charge $120 for a thing I don't want big flat pieces of plastic. Or I guess curved on the backpack. I want something more akin to the kinds of details they added on the full mechanics SEED kits. If not I don't want the same kind of price per pound on the plastic.
Actually, several Perfect Grades have fingers exactly like that. I'm not sure offhand which one debuted it, but I think it was the PG Strike Freedom. For sure, the PG Exia and 00 use that finger style, where you put the middle knuckle between the other two and then cut the whole finger off the runner.
The PG Strike Freedom hands build up the same way, with the fingers assembled prior to removal. At least this isn’t painted on the runner, with the obvious nubs contrasting the gold paint.

The Legend keeps getting shafted in all scales. Been waiting for a MG for years, but now I fear if it gets one it will be in the more detailed style of the more recent seed MGs and won't match with the Destiny

@@DarkKing32 i have the hg full armor and i can tell you, it doesn't really hold up💀 i don't know if something actually wrong with the polycap but those things are so flinzy and weirdly slightly "wobly" Especially the knee and elbow joint, that part is wierdly both loose, wobbly and grippy at the same time. I'll tell you just buy the other unicorn grade, but if you really-really-*really* want a hg unicorn i'd say buy the green version of full armor because that version is the only version of the green unicorn that isn't p-bandai but still just buy the rg if you can Edit : oh wait rg fa is not p-bandai, still for just twice the price, rg fa is beyond worth it
The only effect part that kinda missing is that "Schneidschutz" SX1021 Positron Reflector Shield. I was hoping they include it when Destroy first announce but they didn't.
You wouldn't like to get this kit after what it did in the anime: Massive amount of firepower, wiping out main ZAFT battalion, collateral destruction, Berlin levelled to rubble, killing innocent Berliners in it's path and it's piloted by Stella Loussier!
I think an earlier non-Gunpla model had an extra (though not canon) gimmick of being able to fold the four main cannons forward and use them in MS mode. Is this kit able to do it?
You only want 2? If you want to re-create the Heaven's Base Scene, you will need at least 3. And I saw someone buying 13 of them to re-create Blue Cosmos.

I'll tell you just buy the other unicorn grade, but if you really-really-*really* want a hg unicorn i'd say buy the green version of full armor because that version is the only version of the green unicorn that isn't p-bandai but still just buy the rg if you can

The only effect part that kinda missing is that "Schneidschutz" SX1021 Positron Reflector Shield. I was hoping they include it when Destroy first announce but they didn't.
