Okay. I jumped right into this feet first. I was skeptical and a little scared even after I sent the 50% down payment. But today I got the photos of the pins and I'm super excited to be getting them soon! You are the sh!t! Best information on the internet for finding a pin maker. Thank you....THANK YOU....THANK YOU!!
I wasn't even thinking about making enamel pins and was just curious about the process. Your video was so helpful and informative it makes me want to try! You make the process seem so much easier than I thought, great job!
Your video is still very helpful and informative, 3 years later. One thing I do when deciding pin size, is to paper print the design at various sizes. It gives me a better idea of what works best. Sometimes I even trim them down and place them on my shirt, to see which gives the best visual appeal.
This is the best video I've seen so far on this subject. You explain it so well and easy to understand. Thank you so much for taking the time to make this!
This is excellent content. I have watched several videos of annoying pin designers to tease you about how to make a pin but never ever share info on manufacturers or the actual steps to take to get a pin made. Subscribed.
Thank you for the video and blog post. Great info for someone like me that wants to start but doesn’t know how and doesn’t want to get ripped off by picking the wrong manufacturer.

Do factories allow you to make color variants within the same batch? For example if I wanted 100 units of the same pin, but I want 50 of them red, 25 of them blue and 25 of them yellow, do they do that?
Hey boss!! This is SUPER USEFUL!!! Thank you so much for making this content. I've been researching pin design like mad and finally came across something perfectly answering all my questions. You're the bomb! Bonus question: I know they're usually okay with PDF's, but do you think I could go the extra mile and deliver an .ai vector file?? Would that make it easier for them to bring cost down or do you think it wouldn't really matter. Thanks!! - Nate
Is there a way to still buy 100 pins but make it different designs through the 100? Or does it have to be 100 per design. Like if i had 10 designs can i get 10 each to make it 100?
Hi there. I know it's been a little while but maybe this will still help. You do not need to make your art the size of the final pin. However, it does help a lot to print samples at home of your desired dimensions. This should give you an idea of what to expect.
Honestly, its very hard to make enamel pins on your own because it requires you melting metal and needing big machinery. If you want enamel pins I'd recommend doing them in a factory. if you want buttons or any other type of pins you'll likely be able to make them at home.

Hello! I’m not sure if you respond to comments, but I was wondering if you have experience in knowing how many pins to bring to sell to a convention? For example, a venue like Anime NYC? Also, do you have any info on card stock you use to attach the pins to when selling?
wow this is super duper helpful thank you so much! if possible could I ask a question? I know what design and I want to order a 1 inch pin. But I am not sure what size canvas to use for my psd. I looked everywhere and I cant seem to find this >.< any help you could offer would be super helpful! thanks so much!
I used one of the companies you suggested. Got the quote. Got the invoice. It uses pinlord dot com in its email...which is not the original email. I just can't afford to get ripped off. Have you actually used these companies or how are you associated with them? There is so little useful information out there. I'm stressing over this now. My designs are tied into a book I'm working on.

Thanks so much for this. Important question... how can we tell it's a factory that treats it's employees fairly? Are there international certifications or anything specific to look for?
Hmmm, it's honestly really hard to know even if factories have certificates. The best way is to go to the factory directly and inspect it yourself. The second best option it to ask them to send you certification that they treat their employees fairly and trust that those certifications are good. Most chinese manufacturers these days are now up to standard regulations.
Apart from going to the factory to check it out yourself, you're going to have to rely of whatever certifications they give you. Unless you're an expert it's honestly really hard to know for certain.
Heya! I hear ya. Enamel pins require big machinery to make, but if you have a crafty side and able to melt metals, and create molds, here's a good video that'll show you the ropes: ruclips.net/video/BlDoT1ZvZLo/видео.html. If you can't do that, a factory is the other option. Hope it helps
you need to use search words like cloisonné, enameling or champleve - jewelry smithing. you are talking about making a jewelry - quality product. I have not done it, but if I did the prices would be well above what anything you order.

Your video is great! what is the size to design enamel pin in adobe illust. Is it A4 to draw it?
I was looking to just make one. How do I do that.
You can't do only one with a factory but you can try to make it yourself at home. Check out this video: ruclips.net/video/BlDoT1ZvZLo/видео.html
