I went to a convention the other day that had a vendor selling enamel pins for $10 each and thought it seemed like a rip-off. Then I came to this video to see how they're actually made and $10 seems like an absolute steal now.
Haha, making enamel pins does require a lot of work, but it is also interesting:)
Yeah, vendors typically will charge a good bit for enamel pins; remember youre paying for the effort and time of the art, the production, and the in-person selling (rather than online selling). Selling at conventions is REALLY expensive. in-fact, going to sell at my first one later today :]
@@hiddenmongoose7314 Exactly
$10 is a good price. Damn
As a pin collector $10 is a really good price, most pins I collect are $50+ due to their detail and size
And then clients ask why artists charge "so much" for enamel pins, THIS IS WHY, it not only the creative work, its the whole process of making them thats behind it
Definitely :)
Wow looks amazing, so much work goes into these I think no one realises this
Yeah, a small pin does require quite a lot of work. Not easy but interesting and feel good when seeing designs become pins.
@@jiayuepinsmax I was wondering if you will be at the Canton fair in 2023 ??
@@jackseye9944 Hi, we have not decided yet, may go there
I appreciate all the artists, who put too much hardwork to make this beautiful charms. ⭐✨u guys are amazing.
Yeah, artists create beauty, we make them tangible:)
Wow, this was so fascinating! Thank you for sharing this whole process, I had no idea how much craftsmanship went into creating these types of pins, amazing works!
this is way more involved than I thought...excellent work!
SHOUT OUT TO THE HARD WORKER!
Thanks a lot:)
It’s always fascinating to me seeing seconds/errors making it through processes (especially ones with QA processes in place).
Folks looking to get these made: ALWAYS order more than you need because mistakes will always make it through the process (like you can see here).
Thanks for sharing! :)
Ordering a few more is truly a good way to secure the quality of your ordered pins. Another way is to compare among factories, to see which factory can always provide better-quality pins. Welcome to try Jiayue Pins our factory.
You should keep making videos
Its really informative for us plus we could know more about you guys!
You could make videos like different kind of pins i mean the varieties so that its easier for us to order if we know things beforehand plus how to order from you guys easily without any problem and such stuffs and everything about pins!!
@@anitarathod2004 Hi, Anita, ok, I will try to make more videos as you suggested. :)
Thats a lot of process! Thank you for doing a great job to those who made Enamel pins 😭🔥

What kind of enamel are you using?
Had no idea this much work went into making these..I will never complain about the price again
Thanks for your kindness:)
I love your process. This is very involved though.
Thanks a lot:)
My brain: yeah i could totally do this from home
Yeah, it is possible, some people are truly making pins at home, it is another kind of interesting journey.
this is very interesting process!
If you get paint on the raised metal plating how do you clean off without messing up the other paint or plating
what type of adhesive are you using for attaching pins
Is that black kliar coating for the electroplating process?
The electroplating process is separated from pins color, you can design and put any color on the pin surface.
wow now I understand why
they are expensive
Right, the molds, material, more importantly, the labor cost...
What type of pen tools and paint are used?
How are the cheap ones on TEMU made? They are sold for 89p or less
me: I want to MAKE my own enamel pins
watches video: 😮😮😮
I didnt know it took this much work! 😱 I wanted to see if I can just make my own pins at home without a manufacturer in China. Yeah right 🙄lol
Thank you for all your hard work and for making an artists's creation come to life as an artist yourself
Changed my mind. I don’t need a pin company 😂
Link to equipment needed to do this? I don't want to enamel pins but my silver art
the pins look amazing! do you ship them worldwide?

@5:06, what is the name of that needle like tool used for precisely dispensing the paint. And where can I buy one?
It is widely used in hospital, here in China quite easy to buy. Not sure your location and whether it can be bought from medicine shop, etc.
What is it called?
@@Marcoademarco a syringe?
@Marcoademarco If you google “curved needle syringe” or “bent needle syringe” on google, it will pull up similar kinds to the one used in the video. It’s a type of medical needle, and they come in different gauges (diameters), that can attach onto a syringe. The larger the gauge number, the smaller the size of the needle. For example, a 16 gauge needle is bigger than a 20 gauge needle. The needle in the video looked very small, so you would need one with a larger gauge number for it to be comparable. And honestly, a straight needle would probably work just as well, so it technically doesn’t have to be curved like the one shown here.
@@BhappyD Curved makes it easier to see what they are filling because their hand would be in the way with a straight needle being held above the piece. I've never done enamel before, but I've used syringe glue in costume jewelry and the curved needle would def help with precision. (I was stuck using straight. lol)
😢Guess I won't be making pins at home anytime soon!😂
Right?! I had NO idea they were this complicated to make. It makes me appreciate my pins even more! Definitely not something I could ever DIY, no matter how hard I tried! lol
What is the clear liquid apply with brush on the pin at last scene called?
resin
What is the transparent cover, when its finish?
It is the epoxy, when it is finished, it is a transparent layer, which can also protect the pin surface.
It's hard to believe that there isn't more automation in the process
I would imagine for enamel products you could use an automated machine for filling the enamel if it were a design being made on a massive scale for a big company theoretically, but art pins and other enamel products are more often made in fairly small batches comparatively which would make automating the filling process more effort than it's worth since the machines would require constant recalibration for new designs and probably would be at greater risk of messing up entire batches before a problem is found, where as people doing it by hand can adjust after a single mistake and can also fix it right away. I just hope their working conditions and pay are livable.
@jiayuepinsmax9859 what is the sticky material in @3:15
is it adhesive or soldering?
It is a strong adhesive
They may say adhesive but it's bs it's silver solder paste if you notice the next scene shows all the pins are blue because they were heated up to solder the pin backs on.
@@samellowery Thanks for the clarification. I think it might be a case of lost in translation as it wouldn't make sense to intentionally lie when solder is the superior option.
@ANPC-pi9vu your probably right just used to bad actors on the internet.
I wish we could see how Disney makes their pins
Can you tell me the name of this liquid? plzzz i want to know And how many colors does this liquid have?
Hi,How to get the paint?
Hi, We have longtime paint partners. As for sending to overseas, frankly we have not exported.
what is the process called at 2:44?
It is a vibration process to get rid of the burr on the edges of pins.
Como se llama la pintura ?
es pintura esmalte :) hay pinturas esmaltes diferentes, debes usar la pintura para hobby y modelos.
Hai I want this paint
