Pricing hasn’t been officially announced for this beast yet but we can imagine it’ll be pushing $200k! Time will tell how many they build and how customers react to Maserati’s first electric car. With Grecale Folgore right around the corner, this is an exciting time for the brand!

The Maserati brand has been both watered down and neglected over a long period of time, starting with the ill-fated Chrysler TC by Maserati in the 1980's all the way to current day, sharing some components with the Chrysler 300. When FCA took over, it attempted to juice volume by moving the brand name down from the exotic category to the more pedestrian luxury segment, offering leases at $699/month. Because these cars are far from daily drivers, I really don't think buyers really care about the range or the charging curve. It's all about the prestige and/or the visceral thrill of driving it. The Maserati brand has no equity in that regard and I would guess the EV conversion will do nothing to change it.

I would like to point out, Kyle, that a handful of $200,000 battery electric vehicles do not make an "Electric Revolution." Prices have gone a bit crazy over the past couple of years, but prior to that -- for years -- the average price of a new car was right around $35,000. Please consider floating down from the Land of the 1%, and go find some battery electric vehicles that sell for around $35,000, or do some digging around and report why those just don't seem to exist. If we don't have somewhere around "dozens" of battery electric vehicles with prices around $35,000 to choose from, NOBODY ELSE IS GOING TO BE ABLE TO AFFORD YOUR ELECTRIC REVOLUTION.

You can purchase a Bolt EV today for $26,500. With tax incentives a new Model 3 can come in around $30-35K. The future of cheap vehicles is EV. These more expensive ones (not this Maserati of course) help us get there.

    • @joshuarosen465

They can't possibly sell these for $200K. A Mercedes EQS starts at $105K, loaded up they are around $150K. Would anyone in their right mind pay $50K more to get a Maserarti? That doesn't even bring charging into the equation. Mercedes is going NACS, by the time Stelantis starts shipping these to the US there will be native NACS on Mercedes. There hasn't been a peep out of Stelantis about switching to NACS.
