  • So after a trip across from Llandow on the Saturday evening we found ourselves at Shelsley Walsh for Sunday. A bit of late night adjustments on the car with sprocket changes and a few other bits that needed checking and we were good to go again. The morning started off well going under 30 in first practice and then following it up with a sub 29. I did notice the rear starting to slide where the new armco on the right began which may have been down to the lack of rear wing being run as it was almost flat. The car was great in a straight line and even with having to ease off to stop the rear sliding I was pulling 103 on ess approach around 4-5 mph higher than the other 1100cc cars in the class. Sadly we were only able to record 1 timed run as on dads second attempt the chain decided it no longer wanted to be complete and snapped at top ess taking out the clutch pushrod in the process so game over as I don’t carry a spare pushrod. Happy with the times as I know there is plenty more in there to come with a few adjustments. Still ended up 3rd in class against some regular Shelsley competitors so I can’t complain. Well done and thank you to the organisers, officials and marshals for putting on such a fantastic event you all are stars. Looking forward to the next outing at Loton Park on the 9th/10th of July.
