  • Another fantastic weekend of motorsport has been and gone and this time it was the turn of Torbay Motor Club to put on the full weekend. We were really lucky over the two days to only really get rain on the last timed run. Massive thanks to the marshals who did absolutely fantastic with so few bodies there to help. Thanks to West Country Rescue and Doc for your work on the start. Well done to Torbay MC for putting on a great event and thanks to Clay Pigeon Raceway for having us.
The original plan was to go to Clay in the Green Jedi unfortunately the engine was still making funny noises. It was decided to bring out our faithful MK4. I went into the weekend with the target of going back into the 69s bracket as it had been a long time since I’d done that. Thankfully that was achieved on the first timed run on Sunday and I would’ve gone quicker on the video recorded run had I not made a hash of the last corner and run to the finish still it was a 70.1 so still very happy with the results as it was good enough. Just as we finished the heavens opened. Monday started off very much the same as Sunday with the track drying after overnight rain but we started off strong with a 70.2, it was the run after lunch which was another trip into the 69s just 0.02 behind the Sunday time. I’d really thought I’d blown the chance to go into the 69s when I over rotated the car at the hairpin and had to collect it up on the first lap but hooked the rest of the run up to pull off the time. If I’d tied the best sectors together it would’ve been a low 69 so really happy that the car was capable of pulling off those sorts of times. It was really great to be back out in the Jedi again and I’m looking forward to the next time out in it soon. The weekend certainly had its challenges with the grip going in and out on several occasions never really being consistent. Really pleased with how the Jedi performed as it’s the first time this year we put it on good rubber and really leant on it really didn’t miss a beat all day.
Many thanks to Zach for the photos and video from clay pigeon. Was great to see so many of you again. Next year it’s definitely an event worth doing.

as your turning the front wing end plates are flat sided against the wind & flexing ,the wind has to climb the flat side or go round before it can flow over the body of the wing they're maybe harming aero .
