  • So the final one, the last of 2022. It was a great way to finish off the season up at Clay Pigeon. It was another weekend of learning with the 2000m in conditions very different to Curborough the week before. It was definitely more of a challenge in the cooler and damp conditions. The car performed well and we put up a good fight to end up behind Tom Williams who put in a fantastic drive for FTD. Being used to driving smaller machinery around clay I wasn’t sure how I’d get on in the OMS but on the second timed run I did really start anchoring on the brakes and pushing it through the chicane. I had a great day though and apart from struggling with tyre temperatures. I was happy with the results for the third time out. It wasn’t giving me everything I wanted and I was fighting with it at times but we can work on that. It was definitely easier with the paddle change and throttle blipper making it feel more balanced. The gears were still a little too long for what I’m used to but it was definitely pulling well and it’s something we will look at. Definitely more in the car with changes. Happy with second overall and the car showing great potential.
Well done to Bournemouth & District Car Club (BDCC) on putting on a fantastic event up at Clay Pigeon Raceway. Thank you to the marshalling team who were out in the cold, wind and then rain at the end to allow us all to play. Thank you to clay for allowing us to play again for the last time in 2022.
We have direction on areas we need to look at to improve on so it will be a busy winter with both cars. The plan is to turn up the Jedi to what it should have been for this year and more. The OMS will be a watch this space.
