Nice video! Do you know what time the Raleigh and Fayetteville gets into Raleigh? I've been out a few times and always miss them.
Hi @TheTriangleRailfan , I don't know which days or times they come and go, although they almost always arrive in the morning and leave about noonish. The railroad runs weekdays only so don't bother looking on weekends. The ONLY reason I caught them this time was because the dispatcher took the signal away from them for 15 minutes over the radio and I heard it. My work is 13 minutes from Dorthea Dix park so I took a chance and hit the road. Barely made it in time to set up. When the Boylan ATCS was working, you could see the signals, but there was only a couple of minutes from the time they cleared the train until it ran out. If I didn't have to work all day, I might camp out at Fuquay and start chasing it when they leave from there up for Raleigh and then chase it back.

Sorry it isn't much to go by. I suspect the crew starts the day at about the same time in Varinia like most freight trains. The amount of work being done can change the time of appearance anytime after that start time. Good luck and happy hunting.
