I completly agree with the doctor. I have/had refractory celiac disease with gastroparesis, Gerd, and colitis. I am eating just meat and fish and through this step I am not longer suffering physically. They wanted to be assisited by a dietician for disorder eating. It is a total madness in the medical system.
I was always plagued with hemorrhoids when I was on the standard western diet ( I ate tons of fibre ). You just assume hemorrhoids are normal as you age. Since changing to a Keto/carnivore diet all hemorrhoids have gone completely with no re recurrence.
This diet was exactly what my mother was told in the early 1950's by doctors at a former US army hospital in Oxford, UK. She had ulcerative colitis very badly and was regularly in hospital for months at a time until this point having blood infusions etc to keep her alive. She kept to a lowish fibre diet all her life and lived to be 98. She also helped my father who developed colitis in old age in the 1980a when was prescribed a high fibre diet which made him worse. She fed him low fibre food and he recovered. Note she was also treated with the newly discovered drug cortisone at huge expense to the newly formed NHS.

I’m 75 years old. I’ve been on the Kaba lifestyle for almost 5 years years. I am going through different healing programs within myself. My brain is getting more grounded and clear. My muscle tissue has enhanced. I wore glasses at 40 years old. My eyes are back to almost perfect vision. I seldom need to use a Magnifier to read anything I wish I knew about this at young age. Essentially, I started carnivore to resolve my gut issues. I had many problems with bloating, gas, and hemorrhoids. While I'm still in adaptation phase, I felt better already in the first week.
I've always had difficulty with regularity, might be more about early upbringing, parents always fighting and outside toilets, freezing in winter I've tried the fibre and Brown bread just bunged me up more. At the age of 75 still not totally regular but still fit and healthy. I've lived a life of taking laxatives about once a week with no serious harm yet. Yet again we are lead to believe that once a day is the norm but I bet there is a high percentage that dont.
You're right. Once a day is not what every person experiences. As long as it is regular and once every couple of day without pain or lots of straining then that should be good. "Normal" is the baseline of each person. To some people their 'normal' is once or twice every 3 days. Others, it's 2-3 times per day.
What if you're Diabetic? I started taking soluble and insoluble fiber and it's been great for me over the last 12 months, along with eating more nuts, seeds, and berries.

Hating on silly rolled oats misses the point of how to reverse diabetes.

Gut bacteria can break down fiber as they have more enzymes by perhaps a factor of three compared to the rest of the body. Fibre first, fat and protein next, then any starch and finally sugar if they are had. This reduces glucose blood spikes. All from organic whole foods without too many oxalates and phytic acids and lectins. Microbiomes control hormones and that controls health.
I don’t think Professor Tim Spector would agree, apart from the fact we can’t digest fibre, but our gut microbes do & that’s what feeds them & they’re very important for our health. It would be good to have Zoe Harcombe on the Zoe podcast but that’ll never happen because she challenges their narrative! I get the “waste product” bit but I’m dubious about zero fibre. I certainly don’t eat 30g a day but I do have some. Very interesting about white vs wholegrain. Trouble is we’ve been fed (no pun intended) so many lies about diet over the years it’s hard to know what’s right. I think you have to find out what works for you as an individual. Limit UPF, get rid of seed oils & artificial sweeteners for sure. But there’s no “one size fits all” in anything. You’re correct, Typically people who have harsh issues are probably eating too much fiber and could have seriously intestinal issues that should be addressed.
I think I prefer the advice of Dr Robert Lustig, a true expert and long practising physician. Fibre is very beneficial. The point is that fibre feeds your gut microbes, not you. Protect your liver and feed your gut. I think you have a bit to learn Zoe.

You might want to reconsider that "anything in moderation" statement. You're saying poison, toxin, alcohol, drugs, poop, etc are okay in "medium" amounts. If your body isn't meant to have certain things fed to it, how do you know how much you should be forcing it to tolerate? You may not die immediately, but there will be consequences down the road.

Butyrate is made by beneficial gut flora after they consume undigestible fiber, not from the fiber directly. When I consume fiber (but not grains) I am free from hay fever symptoms.
IF this is TRUE, The Medical Professionals are absolutely shit except a very very very honest few.. Wow, Thanks been on a research journy for Carnivore now 3 weeks.. about 60 hours worth of videos. The microbes in our intestines produce short chain fatty acids and butyrate when they digest the fibre we eat and these by products are used by the body. They also help regulate and monitor gut health. If anyone is having problems when introducing more fibre they should consume small amounts and increase slowly so that sufficient amounts of the required gut bacteria can grow. To say that we don't digest fibre so we don't need it is plain wrong.
If we "digested" it, it wouldn't still be there, it's a waste product. My life is improved a thousandfold since getting rid of it. I no longer spend my life in the bathroom. Nonstop gas meant I couldn't do my job. no more bleeding in discomfort. Ketones are the answer to your question

Some bacteria feed off fibre. If you stop eating fibre then those bacteria die off and are replaced by other bacteria that feed on the foods you continue to eat.

Just stopped fiber intake 2 Weeks ago. All my bloating and some other more severe but not open to public problems stopped kind of magiacly. Since i know really many people with similar problems. I think they should try it for themselves. The fiber problems were gone after the first week.
When I was on keto/carnivore I had nothing but the most awful gas and runny diarrhea ever. Not to mention it kicked off my gallbladder issues that prevent normal bowel movements. High fat absolutely clogs the gallbladder and if people stay on keto, they can never get off of it. Ever since I started incorporating more fruits and vegetables I go to the bathroom, no issues. Keto drastically improved my mood but did shorten my fuse without all the sugar to satiate my anger. I doubt most of the people in this comment section have been on keto/carnivore for long enough to actually experience consequences. For those that have, they're just lucky or lying about how disciplined they really are.
Fibre prevents stasis which is a major cause of bowel cancer and other gastrointestinal disorders. I look at the stuff that you write and think to myself do the opposite to your recommendations and you won't go far wrong. You should have a public health warning tattood to your forehead.

She is wrong, we have a colon that host bacteria to process these fibers. Asides fibers slow absorption of sugar and reduce glycemic index. I eat tons of fibers and don't get any of the problem she mention, lack of fiber is associated with more risk of colon cancer not more as she argues.

I'm sorry but this is a bunch of processed insoluble fiber, to put it frankly. People have known for thousands of years the benefits of, and have been eating, whole grains and fruit and vegetables. With the industrial revolution we began to process grains and make white rice and white flour for instance, which have led to much of our current woes. You need only look at historical documents that show the rich people eating lots of cake and white bread and meat getting gout while the poor people are spared such diseases since they are eating whole grain bread and potatoes and oats and various vegetables. Or look at our present society! However the reverse has happened and now it is the poorest people who are restricted to processed foods and the rich people can buy vegetables and fruits, which are indeed much more expensive than ramen and cheap cereal. This lady is using reasons that may sound logical but she is ingoring some very important aspects of the digestive tract function, which are right there in the surgeon's hypothesis. While fiber does not have any nutritional value it serves to push out all the other stuff. That is very important! Its called physics! That being said you dont need to and shouldnt be eating a bowl of all bran for breakfast and metamucil for a midmorning snack and some prunes for dessert. Thats too much! Fibre is very bad for some people, I drink water, I don’t eat fibre, I don’t consume carbs. Zoe isn’t ignoring anything if she can help it, she has spent thousands of countless hours reading as many scientific papers as she can on the topic to uncover the truth, which is why she is sharing it. Why do you claim we need fiber when there's no such thing as an essential carbohydrate, with or without fiber? You don't need to be eating it. The body only needs essential amino acids and fatty acids. Maybe the problem is that people are clogging up their systems with useless carbs.

Rolled oats is a grain. Oat bran is the fiber. Oats are heavily sprayed with chemicals, which are the killers-- not the oats themselves.

Fibre does nothing to me but more constipation I just don't need it

I don’t think Professor Tim Spector would agree, apart from the fact we can’t digest fibre, but our gut microbes do & that’s what feeds them & they’re very important for our health. It would be good to have Zoe Harcombe on the Zoe podcast but that’ll never happen because she challenges their narrative! I get the “waste product” bit but I’m dubious about zero fibre. I certainly don’t eat 30g a day but I do have some. Very interesting about white vs wholegrain. Trouble is we’ve been fed (no pun intended) so many lies about diet over the years it’s hard to know what’s right. I think you have to find out what works for you as an individual. Limit UPF, get rid of seed oils & artificial sweeteners for sure. But there’s no “one size fits all” in anything. BTW she’s not a medical doctor, she’s a PhD, Cambridge University graduate with a BA & MA in economics/maths whatever that actually means. That’s not a slur, I genuinely don’t know!
You’re correct, Typically people who have harsh issues are probably eating too much fiber and could have seriously intestinal issues that should be addressed.
I think I prefer the advice of Dr Robert Lustig, a true expert and long practising physician. Fibre is very beneficial. The point is that fibre feeds your gut microbes, not you. Protect your liver and feed your gut. I think you have a bit to learn Zoe.
What about the gut bacteria using the fibre to make Short Chain Fatty Acids - which are used in lining cells and taken into the body Surely that is beneficial?

You might want to reconsider that "anything in moderation" statement. You're saying poison, toxin, alcohol, drugs, poop, etc are okay in "medium" amounts. If your body isn't meant to have certain things fed to it, how do you know how much you should be forcing it to tolerate? You may not die immediately, but there will be consequences down the road.

Thousands of people are turning to carnivore because we can’t tolerate even the smallest amounts almost any plant based foods without suffering painful/inflammatory results, even if we start small & increase over time. In the end a lot of us would rather choose a life of physical comfort & limited variety, rather than trying to eat things that others expect us to eat, only to suffer the consequences for days later.

I eat natural fiber everyday. Not in large amounts but my gut microbes thank me and I'm regular.

You have a small capacity to make short chain fatty acids from fibre. Your body can also get short chain fatty acids from ketones.
Butyrate is made by beneficial gut flora after they consume undigestible fiber, not from the fiber directly. When I consume fiber (but not grains) I am free from hay fever symptoms.

The microbes in our intestines produce short chain fatty acids and butyrate when they digest the fibre we eat and these by products are used by the body. They also help regulate and monitor gut health. If anyone is having problems when introducing more fibre they should consume small amounts and increase slowly so that sufficient amounts of the required gut bacteria can grow.
To say that we don't digest fibre so we don't need it is plain wrong.
You can get Butyrate from Butter
If we "digested" it, it wouldn't still be there, it's a waste product. My life is improved a thousandfold since getting rid of it. I no longer spend my life in the bathroom. Nonstop gas meant I couldn't do my job. no more bleeding in discomfort. Ketones are the answer to your question

It does, i rather listen to dr. John mcDougall and dr. Peter Rogers who actually discuss the science at hand. When you don't eat fiber your microbiome will start eating away at the mucus layer protecting your blood vessels from the stomach contents.
The macrobiome can easily adjust to meat and other animal food, fermented or not. Give it a little time to transcend and all will be fine. Carnivore heals.

Some bacteria feed off fibre. If you stop eating fibre then those bacteria die off and are replaced by other bacteria that feed on the foods you continue to eat.

your stomach fills up with stomach acid ... what microbiome is there in your stomach? If you spilt the acid from your stomach on your skin you would get a nasty acid burn.

Just stopped fiber intake 2 Weeks ago. All my bloating and some other more severe but not open to public problems stopped kind of magiacly. Since i know really many people with similar problems. I think they should try it for themselves. The fiber problems were gone after the first week.

When I was on keto/carnivore I had nothing but the most awful gas and runny diarrhea ever. Not to mention it kicked off my gallbladder issues that prevent normal bowel movements. High fat absolutely clogs the gallbladder and if people stay on keto, they can never get off of it. Ever since I started incorporating more fruits and vegetables I go to the bathroom, no issues. Keto drastically improved my mood but did shorten my fuse without all the sugar to satiate my anger. I doubt most of the people in this comment section have been on keto/carnivore for long enough to actually experience consequences. For those that have, they're just lucky or lying about how disciplined they really are.

Fibre prevents stasis which is a major cause of bowel cancer and other gastrointestinal disorders. I look at the stuff that you write and think to myself do the opposite to your recommendations and you won't go far wrong. You should have a public health warning tattood to your forehead.

She is wrong, we have a colon that host bacteria to process these fibers. Asides fibers slow absorption of sugar and reduce glycemic index. I eat tons of fibers and don't get any of the problem she mention, lack of fiber is associated with more risk of colon cancer not more as she argues.
If you don't eat sugar then that's really not a big problem. She isn't wrong go onto any zero carb channel on RUclips and you will hear testimony after testimony of people who have cut out fiber such as myself and who have experienced nothing but benefits. IBS, gas, bloating and bleeding all gone

It isn't the lack of fiber that is associated with colon cancer, it's the inclusion of refined carbohydrates that is.
This idea that you don’t need carbohydrates because they are not ‘essential’ is the biggest confusion in nutrition, confusion between essential and beneficial, eating a diet that zero on one macro nutrient will bring tons of issues on the long term. I'm sorry but this is a bunch of processed insoluble fiber, to put it frankly. People have known for thousands of years the benefits of, and have been eating, whole grains and fruit and vegetables. With the industrial revolution we began to process grains and make white rice and white flour for instance, which have led to much of our current woes. You need only look at historical documents that show the rich people eating lots of cake and white bread and meat getting gout while the poor people are spared such diseases since they are eating whole grain bread and potatoes and oats and various vegetables. Or look at our present society! However the reverse has happened and now it is the poorest people who are restricted to processed foods and the rich people can buy vegetables and fruits, which are indeed much more expensive than ramen and cheap cereal. This lady is using reasons that may sound logical but she is ingoring some very important aspects of the digestive tract function, which are right there in the surgeon's hypothesis. While fiber does not have any nutritional value it serves to push out all the other stuff. That is very important! Its called physics! That being said you dont need to and shouldnt be eating a bowl of all bran for breakfast and metamucil for a midmorning snack and some prunes for dessert. Thats too much! Just getting fiber as it comes in whole grains and vegetables along with your meat and fish and everything else that is great for humans to eat. And water...don't be telling me fiber is bad and you aren't drinking water.

Why do you claim we need fiber when there's no such thing as an essential carbohydrate, with or without fiber? You don't need to be eating it. The body only needs essential amino acids and fatty acids. Maybe the problem is that people are clogging up their systems with useless carbs.
Please don't get influenced no body knows anything about your body. You know your body best. This about diets is so stupid just remove ultra processed food everything else. Fibre is for your microbiome. There are people who I know have improved with it, there are who haven't. We are all biased. Be smart and do what is good for you. Don't listen to anybody.
