You were asking about what was hanging off of asmodai's belt. It is his favourite and signature torture device. He is so brutal and single minded that I believe even the lion was thinking to himself "damn bro, they didn't even do much wrong"
I'm not a Kill Team player but the Night Lords kit seems like a great source of Night Lord parts to scatter amongst a box of Chaos Space Marines if you're a Night Lords player.
It's such a good idea. Now you can actually build a Night Lords army that isn't just Black Legion but Blue. I really hope Word Bearers, Alpha Legion and Iron Warriors get the same treatment.
I think that's the GW expectation for Kill Team. They release these exquisite kits that are a relatively small investment, but act as both an in to 40k and as conversion kits like the MK3 space marine kits.
Night lords kill team is the same as Krieg kill team. It's for people who wanna build a while army of that to have kitbash fodder and some starting models. It's a good thing!
It's the Blades of Reason on Asmodai. The description from the Angels of Death Codex Wargear card:-The Blades of reason is an ancient and horrific device that looks like a knife with many sharply-honed and polished blades. Etched into the blades are numerous extremely fine neural-wires which inflict agonising pain on any nerve fibres they cut through.
I think the Night Lords kill team is basically the only way someone other than Space Marines to get a legion specific upgrade sprue. It's like GW forgot that there are sub factions that need upgrades and rules for things other than the big 5 Space Marine codexes. Someone on the Kill team team (heh) is really making sure that all the crazy cool stuff that GW won't make for 40k gets made for Kill team.
Not even the big 5 space marine codexes. Space Wolves are waiting since the first release of the primaris to have their non-codex primaris units and characters (which are ALL the SW units and characters but the tanks), in miniatures and in rules.
The Asmodai weird device on his belt is the Blades of Reason, a torture device he uses to interrogate fallen. Basically something that will make "They shall know no fear" into a very silly joke
The Stabby thing on Asmodai is a super torture blade 9000. it overloads the nervsystem putt the poor Fallen in ALL the pain without killing him, untill Asmodai pushes the kill button.
If the Night Lords kill team comes with 10 helmets and 10 legion shoulderpads then it's already worth it and saves me a lot of kitbashing. But additionally you'll get weapons(sword, glaive, knife, bolt pistol with scope, hell yea), flayed skin, banner and SKIN CLOAKS!
The Night lirds is a Kill Team upgrade + a Night Lord upgrade. Both new operative weapons and chapter specific heads and shoulder pads for all. So it makes sense that it's big.
24:00 I dunno about adding more doodads to the Deathwing Termies. I like the cleaner look, it's kinda refreshing. With the ease of use of digital sculpting tools I think designers are seduced into adding More Stuff. Sometimes Less is More.
Asmodai is basically in the pose from his original Mark Gibbons artwork in 2nd edition where he became a character (Interrogator Chaplain). Nice to see them paying homage to some of the classic (and vastly better) artwork. Note that Mephiston is likewise more or less taken straight from Gibbons original artwork for him from 2nd edition as well.
The night lords kit will be my go to for buying new infantry for my night lords army. I already have some stuff with 3d printed heads but this works out cheaper.
I know I'm just a random Sisters player on the internet but allow me to be your source of hype! I instantly fell in love with this kill team box. I've never bought or played kill team but I already have my store credit at my FLGS ear-marked for these guys. They're so so awesome.
My solution to excessive terrain- Use the extra terrain to spice up your miniatures and bases. What's better than an Into-The-Dark breaching team with bases that have them breaching a door, or with broken bits on the floor, computers, etc. Hope it's not a too far out there idea. :)
I freakin love the FEC and it's about time they got some love! Now to start picking off the new kits and behaps dive back into AoS even if my focus is for 40K Deathwatch to be tournament ready by next Spring
Asmode should also get an overcoat to protect his coat. I also like the smoke too!! I’m still holding out hope for space hulk. Thanks gents!! Fantastic as always!!!
Tauros Venator, the one you didn't note, is by far the best thing there, bringing back an old vehicle that isn't a new-age overdesigned joke, and bringing it to plastic too. Now just give it lascannons and 40k rules for guard, GW...
I am all up for getting the night lords, as a little project, getting a box dedicated to them, writing "We Have Come For You" in red on it, and finally learn kill team.
The most positive emotion I can muster at this point for new space marines is this: Mild annoyance. The Flesh Eater Court hero looks super amazing though.
Really happy with some of these reveals. At this point, I just started finally collecting marines with the leviathan box and made them salamanders, so I am JONESING for a new named salamander
I am pretty sure that the swiss army knife looking thing on Asmodai's belt is one of the blades of reason. In the lore they are described as a complex series of small interlocking blades and wires that dig into the flesh of whoever is unfortunate enough to be stabbed by them.
The night lords kit could be way better. I was hoping for complete new chaos minis that can be kitbashed with other CSM kits. But its just regular CSM with a few extra bits.
Dude tomb kings are why I’m in warhammer!!!! Saw their total war trailer and I needed them and got so upset when I saw they weren’t made anymore. I’m so pysked that they’re coming back. Can’t wait *^*
Your videos are great, it'd be cool if when your talking about other models or comparisons you should also have that image on screen because for guys like me I'm new/old hobbyist I took a almost 25 year break from 40k and have no idea what models your comparing these new ones to.
I could totally buy Asmodai having a special censor device built into his reactor's heat exhaust that starts smoulding flammables to generate as much smoke as possible. We even have a historical example of blackbeard using smouldering wicks to keep a bit of smoke around his head. Sometimes being extra helps with the intimidation. That being said, what space marine is going to be intimidated by the smoke? Either the marine finds Asmodai intimidating or he doesnt. Marines dont do fear the same exact way we do. Also, doesnt smoke rise?
There is at least one model that can still be upgraded with a jump pack that hasn't gone legend. The Sanguinary Priest can take a jump pack, and it pretty much never taken without one from what i can tell. Oh, and the chaplain with Jump pack would be the same way for people not playing blood angels/ not wanting to kitbash our jump chaplain.
as someone who has a Night Lords army built out of the old resin upgrade pack and a bunch of the heresy ones i can not think of a word that describes how much i love the new Night Lords killteam, i also have a fairly large Dark Angels army and honesty i likeeee the new terminators their helmets just don't do it for me, and i really like Asmodai
Dark Angels player here. What Asmodai has on his belt are the Blades of Reason. The Master of Repentence uses these on more, reluctant Fallen who don't take the Lion's fancy new amnesty offer to make them confess to betraying the Primarch on Caliban. It is a hideous torture tool that hyper-energizes the pain centers of the brain whenever it cuts through any nerve endings. It is enough to make a Drukhari Haemonculus blush, as these are Space Marines Asmodai is torturing.
I'm pretty sure these guys look like Ben 10's Monster Alien named: "Fear" , the one with the cast iron stove grate belly that the villains went inside to experience their own worst fears.
I think for a Kill Team player, it's whatever. Kill Team has been an excuse to bring out 40k unit reworks, though- eg Scorpions That's why I love it anyway 😂🎉
I would never get into CSM if they weren't Night Lords and I don't think Night Lords have cultists. They're, overall, not really chaos affiliated. The main Night Lords warbands fight against falling to chaos quite a bit in the lore. Also, they're the best CSM group so GIMME GW Lol
Now about you comment on cultists the night lords are know for being more of a renegade legion than chaos with lots of them despising anyone that joins chaos including other night lords

What do you use to strip the paint off your models without hurting the models?
Can't wait to see the other part of the Kill Team Box, and play these Night Lords withmy Légionnaires Day 1 before building them haha
