- Today we waste some more money, around $1000 in total, as I reaffirm my superior taste in switches. MX Browns are an endgame-worthy switch, @Glarses can come over and witness. The board is the Forever65 by Drift Mechanics and is a superb board.

@@chaseminniear3883 They can be good if properly made, tuned, fitted, and modded if necessary, but you can make almost any clip in stabs sound decent, it just takes more effort for the really shitty ones.

I've never really understood the hate for browns. Yea, they're a bit scratchy, but break-in plus lube takes care of that. Sure, the spring's a bit light and the tactile bump is a bit light, but that's why they're an absolute pleasure to type on when you're working at a keyboard eight+ hours a day. I think akko cs ocean blues are an improved brown, but cherry browns have still always been one of my favorite switches.

It's sad to see the hate on browns. it was my first love and even after using pandas and zealios I still really enjoy using my mx brown board... just the stabs are super rattly cause I never tuned them and I can't be bothered to de-solder the board now lmao
people don't realize that retooled browns are one of the best if not the best light tactiles on the market. sad to see how many beginners are influenced by troll youtubers that clown on browns

While it is the meta to trash MX browns. If you get good Hyperglide, early retooled, or well worn vintage MX browns they actually are very key. Hell even the newer light tactiles like Pewters & Durock light tactiles are super nice IMHO. I've grown very burned out on huge bump MX tactiles like HPs, ALPS & Topre do that much, much better anyways.

My opinion of the sound test: It’s a nice clack. That Cherry MX Brown scratchiness is still hovering in the background… would the board sound just as good a few months from now with continued use?
My thoughts exactly. Surprised by how much I liked the clacky sound profile, though the sound from that scratch takes away from it.
@@Elijah._.7 Any switch sounds good in a good keycaps, case and plate. MX style switches have all almost the same construction overall. The keycaps, the case and plate is what are doing the magic for almost all custom keyboards actually. The switches Just make the big difference in the keyfeel
@@catoflado4977 I respectfully disagree. Sure the rest of the keyboard plays a huge role in the sound profile, but it's crazy to say that switch choice doesn't make a difference towards sound.

Have you tried TTC Watermelon Milkshakes? They're quite good. They are what browns should be.
You are right many "experts" in keyboard are resilient to accept that browns > pandas, if you don't believe me check Linus blind test, 8 of 16 choose browns and only 2 choose pandas
