Thanks for hyping up the 660C, as someone who also has one, I don’t think it’s just you, I have no idea what Leopold does, but it just feels so fucking good. I couldn’t really vibe with my friend’s HHKB so I kinda just ignored topre for a while, but the 660C made me fall in love. Just such a crisp feel, and an absolutely amazing sound too.
@@ShoobsTube Not sure what the difference is, but I swear Leopold uses different 45g domes than HHKB or Realforce board. Leopold's domes seem to be a little heavier feeling with a sharper tactility. Although be careful, Leopold changed the factory they produce their Topre boards in awhile back & the newer ones have some issues the older ones did not from what I hear. I've only tried OG 660Cs though so can't confirm that 100% myself.

You want to know whats on my desk right now? An hhkb classic with 45g topre. I used to hate topre boards. Now i love my hhkb. Theres so many topre fans out there that are overly gatekeepy and that ruined my view on topre for so long and I hope that there will soon be some real objective topre content now.

years ago i had a Leopold F6600C with Hasu controller .. That was one of the best Topre boards IMO.. a QMK Topre board what else would you want. What do you mean by Leopold that guy is mixed ?

Do I dare ask how much it costs for these 10+ year old rubber dome keyboards in these plastic housings? I know I need to give these a shot at some point, but it seems there’s pretty limited options for those that want a more premium case and/or mounting style

The difference between your last board and your other keyboards could be the switch plate. norbauer kits for the HHKB Pro 2-3 have a plate and the difference pretty noticeable. Should shred your credit card and find out!

Topre def goated, I'm up to 5 boards myself. 2 HHKB Hybrid Type-S (black one, white/beige one), a full size Realforce R2 PFU Limited (main work keeb now), a Norbauer tactical black Heavy Grail (HHKB Pro Classic internals), and a Norbauer polycarbonate Heavy 6 (Leopold FC660C internals). I love them all for various reasons, don't know if I could pick a favorite. The typing experience on the 660C was fantastic out the box, but it's on another level inside the Heavy 6 enclosure. Would love to see Shoobs try some Norbauer EC products.
As a big tactile enjoyer and wanting to try EC I'm temped to try getting one of the EC60 PCBs to put into my Frog Mini. Main reason I've been turned off EC is I don't like HHKB and rather Tsangan layout on my 60s. How would be the best way to get one of these PCBs? I see the github to get the file but after that I'm a bit lost.

Huge fan of using these for work, had a niz plum and leopold that were great for typing quickly and being quiet... Unfortunately, I've grown to love the more annoying clack keyboards so back to chasing that rabbit hole
I think more people should get the non-type-s for the shorter stem. When silenced and lubed, its an amazing feeling with the tactility right at the very very top so it basically felt linear with a cushiony bottom out.
You should try one of the Niz boards. Bought a Plum 68 for my girlfriend and put a ePBT set on it and it absolutely slaps. They're super affordable but actually one of the best stock EC board money can buy
