I randomly found this subculture of keyboard enthusiasts and I never knew there was this much variety between keyboards.

Mode did an amazing job with the board, and Hamaji did a great job building it!
I only watched this video once when I first got into keyboards, but now, if I'm ever stressed or angry, I come back to this video to calm down. The calm jazz in the background along with your pretty smooth voice and the calm building process just calms my soul.

@@kylemckell Not really for a tkl. $470 is pretty standard and the keycaps are $99(mechmarket is a waste of money they're being offered for 120-250 depending on the seller but fuck mechmarket) but what makes this super expensive is just the fact it's a 1-off anodization that can't normally be bought with his logo etched in. Things are made in bulk to keep costs down but when you have to have your own special anodization colors and make them etch your youtube logo in the prices skyrocket.
I have watched thousands of videos about keyboards but never heard this much satisfying sound 11:46 and also this transition 11:28 was too good

Wow, you do the durock linear way more justice then my cheep ergodox build. The sound is just more round and whole feeling, while mine feel almost hollow in comparison.

I feel you on the holy pandas stability issues. My keyboard has glorious pandas in and I had to swap the mods & spacebar for zealios v2 78g because the rattle was basically unsolvable by just fiddling with the stabs. The heavier springs on the zealios also help make the feel a lot nicer imo!
doesnt have enough patience to lube every spring but has patience to do a hole'e mod. Nice logic Hamaji!

Didn't know about that huge mechanical keyboard community. Many years ago I had bought a Steelseries 6GV2 and used it a lot with starcraft II, but the black keys became to tiresome over time. Tried a Black Widow with blue switches, which I've found to clumsy. At the Moment Iam using an old Cherry Keyboard, one of the beige ones, the RS6000 which has no mechanical switches, but works very well. The Problem with all these custom keyboards and keycaps is, that often they're not aviable for a german layout with üöä or ß which limits the options a lot. Also I like my enter key to go over two rows, and most american keyboards dont have that feature.
Idk of control backspace works on typing programs but it is worth a shot it would delete a full word

I think I'm slowly realizing the keyboards are basically 100% personal preference. This keyboard looks absolutely amazing, but I would be pissed if I spent $850 and it ended up sounding like this. Great video regardless.
