We don’t always get a true glimpse at someone, just because they play music in the public eye, still, Tony’s kindness and place in this band always shines through. Miss you
Damn. I don't know why I haven't absorbed how dope this is until today .... I watched the original broadcast. I have skimmed past it, looking for a more traditional rock and roll texture version of it. The reasoning for wanting the harsher tones during those other environments hold true ... I guess I just hadn't had a mellow without harshing until this eve. Whatever the case... this is now part of my soul. Hoorah... and all that.
When the rescue squad magically appeared during strange design I absolutely lost it.....then the show just got better and better and better....and to think it’s not even close to being over..thank you Trey and everyone involved you all are special ppl
Phish Radio (channel 29 ✌🏻 IYKYK) changed my world this morning with the YEM performance. And now I find out the other 25 are every bit as sonically exquisite? And video quality to match? I was not prepared for this level of satisfaction today.
My goodness! Best RUclips video there is. Short story: Been pretty blown away by the percussionist so I started trying to figure out who he is. It was easier to learn the identities of Ray, Tony, and Russ, mostly in comments here and other Beacon clips. Asked my bud yesterday if he'd heard of Markellis. He had, and then sent a quick text to another friend of ours, who happened once to meet the bassist at Carnegie Deli, where they shared a table, "family style." Since details matter, Tony had a piece of cheesecake, apparently. They chatted and touched on music, the professional asking my pal what sort he prefers. Listed Phish among the top. Tony replies, "Oh! So you're familiar with Trey Anastasio's work. Believe it or not, I'm the bassist in TAB!" Buddy is blown away. Pretty real dude to be chatting with a stranger in NYC, to then identify himself as an insider, to take interest in a fan, and treat him like a friend. *REST IN PEACE TONY MARKELLIS* Now back to my original point. He and his dad were in NY to see Cyro Baptista... *LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, CYRO BAPTISTA*
@@elizabethdurfee1494 So cool! The reason I believe you (assuming you’re not an imposter) is because at Coventry, during Wolfman’s Brother, Trey said that the Liz he is referring to in that song his is his friend “Liz Durfee”. 😂
@@kevinmurtagh4996 yes that is me - and I literally had no idea about the reference (or the song really) until after the Coventry show when friends told me - I remember Trey as a freshmen at UVM so clearly!!!
"It isn't who it would be, if it wasn't who it is" That line has been bothering me for so long. I can't figure out who's on the other end of the phone call.
That would be so cool to get the strings with phish maybe some horns too when they go back on tour. Nothing wrong with just phish though just an idea my brains got.

RIP Tony M, always the tasteful bass

There have only been a few things that made me truly happy in the past few months...and this is one of them!!
100% agree!!! My favorite Beacon jam..
Look at Trey's smile. That's me smiling back at him.
Trey looks so happy to be performing his music again.

The keyboard is seriously everything I need in life
This is like when I first tried salted caramel ice-cream.
I am also an upstate deadhead who also likes salted caramel ice cream! Who would have thunk it?
defintiely has the salty-sweet groove
When the rescue squad magically appeared during strange design I absolutely lost it.....then the show just got better and better and better....and to think it’s not even close to being over..thank you Trey and everyone involved you all are special ppl
I was laughing to at phone ringing, so happy to hear Ray and see Trey smiling in the groove can't wait to feel it in person.
Rescue Squad needs to be a regular thing, love their "ringing"
I think Trey did too.
Dis a straight up bop T-dawg. Yall ready know all the homies be bumpin dis shit 🔥🔥
Thank You Trey. This was decidedly transcendent. My abiding appreciation.
The dude abides.
There’s a beverage here, man!
One of my fave Wolfman’s ever.
This is one of my favorites now. 10/10 would listen again!
The one good thing to come out of COVID: the beacon jams!! Thank you Trey!!

Thank you Trey! You bring such a kind light to these troubling times. I have Ben in recovery for 6 years and used music to ease my mind. Thank you
so pretty! Thanks for bring this to life while we need it.
What kind of monster with bad ears would vote this down? This is phenomenal.
Guess it's not for everyone.
Only the most jaded of vets
What a great performance.
Tight and Crisp on the strings. Love it all! Thanks, Trey
Amazing song!! I missed the Atlantic City and Hershey Phish shows this summer but this is great.
I don't think I've ever seen anyone who seems to enjoy his job as much as Trey. Thank you!
We absolutely love this version 🙌🎶❣️
O wow this is so amazing! Yes!
3:29 Great band, that keyboard solo though!!! incredible
Wow! This was really great. I smiled from start to finish. :)
Indeed! The stripped down Stash the first week was also an incredibly pleasant surprise.
This is beyond amazing! Yet another reason we love these guys to the grave!
Sounds so good. Beautiful arrangement 🎻🐺

Trey is like a super cool and good vibe. My entire mood for the day change to good just watching or listen or both

This is wonderful, thank you for posting! Was disappointed I had to miss the stream last weekend.
Furry hat percussionist you are my new favorite.
Dudes straight vibing
Cyro Baptista. Even his name is awesome.
This was amazing!
What a ominous beginning to 2020 everyone had with the rescue squad..
Thank you Trey. I appreciate you💙🌞
@3:40 anyone else hear the supertramp tease?
Ray just channels all 21 CD's for a penny thru that organ🎧
Awesome show, Trey. 👏✊👍
Awesome
Love it!
Good to see Trey enjoying himself
Sick!!!!
This was soooo sick!
Cyro is a percussion master.
WOW!
When Trey starts walking around like a duck, you know it's good
The truest statement I’ve ever heard.
Yes
Yes
Loving the Sherpa Eskimo dude. . .the beard the cool hat he is Fishman the Wolfman
That Divided Sky was prolly one of the best tho...
Especially love the Supertramp-esque outro from Ray. Butter.
More like Herbie H.
Dire wolf's brother. Love it
this is great, and also a little depressing when the camera shows they are playing facing the brick wall...
@What Are You On About yeah, a wall, or empty seats...I would have hired actors to play fans to sit in the seats and enjoy the show :))
Can you post water in the sky??
😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
2 thumbs up!
Pretty cool Pretty neat 🎵🎵🎵🎵This makes me 😃
4:11 Bloody Well Right!
Dave Grippo’s work for strings?
very nice! my biggest claim to fame!
Did he actually hand you the phone?

That line always bothers me as well, but I love the poetic nature of it.

Fish's wife. They explained the line during Coventry.

IMO this sort of thing works best acoustically.

Sticky!
AT least music keeps it real. We don't need no stinkin fake cheers!
a tad odd rendition, but i still love trey and co.
Ok..now it's time for the horns!! Maybe a Derek Trucks cameo???
It feels like warm up set with
No people.....

Dat cello girl again. Omg
Did this video actually just ask me to donate to one of the wealthiest musicians who ever lived?
It's an opportunity for you to do something good and contribute to a meaningful cause. Don't try to put blame on Trey for such a noble project.
This is painful.
this is terrible
